Hello Travelers, and welcome to a special edition of Eterra Monthly!
We know, we missed the month of August, but we had a very good reason to do so. August was the launch of Last Epoch Season 3: Beneath Ancient Skies! The studio was hard at work to bring you a smooth start to the season, and we are proud to say, it was a success. This does not mean we are going to pretend all of the craziness in August didn’t happen and skip it. This edition is special for a few reasons: First, we will be packing together two months of Eterra Monthly into one big special edition so that you won’t miss a thing, secondly, we have a new traveler that would like to introduce himself to the community, and…
The third is…
Happy Birthday, Eterra Monthly!
One year ago, your Community Management team got together and created the very first Eterra Monthly. Your enthusiasm and feedback have kept it alive and kicking ever since! We will be taking a look at some of the big headlines this past year has brought us. We want to thank every one of you for helping us on this incredible journey. We are far from finished. Eterra Monthly has been an absolute joy to create. We will keep it going to make sure everyone has the chance to experience the very best of, not just Last Epoch, but the community that has been so amazing to us over the years. From your Suggestions & Feedback to your Fan Art, the Last Epoch community has been supportive and honest with us in ways we never could have hoped. So, thank you for being a part of what makes Last Epoch and Eleventh Hour Games so strong.
Thank you all again for making Eterra Monthly a success. Let’s get into the latest edition!
A New Traveler Joins Us
Hello Travelers,
My name is Derrick Gennrich, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the new Player Experience Manager at Eleventh Hour Games. My role is to ensure that your experience with Last Epoch is exceptional and engaging, not only in the game itself, but also in how we connect with you as a community.
At its core, my job is to build and maintain a strong relationship of trust between Eleventh Hour Games and our players. That means delivering proactive support, engaging meaningfully with the community, and keeping our communication clear, open, and transparent.
I’m looking forward to working closely with the team and all of you to make sure your voice is heard, your experience is valued, and that together we continue to grow Last Epoch into something truly special.
Thank you for welcoming me into this incredible community. I’m excited for the journey ahead.
Patch Review
August was the stage for Last Epoch Season 3: Beneath Ancient Skies. But it wasn’t the only patch for the month. If you haven’t already, you can check out the Patch Notes.
Patch 1.3.1 was the first major update to come out one week after launch.
This patch included a multitude of bug fixes for passives, issues with offline cosmetics, and much, much more!
Patch 1.3.2 was the first major update to ring in the month of September. This patch included some performance improvements, enemy balance changes, and more.
Following what would become a consistent update cadence, Patch 1.3.3 addressed several skill issues, performance issues, including a couple of memory leaks, and extra adjustments.
This time, the patch addressed several skill bugs, UI issues, and tweaks to the camera in the Sanctuary of Eterra to help prevent motion sickness. You can read the rest in the Patch Notes.
This time, we addressed skill bugs, controller and WASD issues, and more.

Eyes on Eterra
We’ve been seeing a bit more chatter about recommended and minimum specs for Last Epoch. We have updated this information on Steam. With the speed at which technology advances, we want to make sure everyone understands what is needed to enjoy a great experience in Eterra! The Community Management team recommends checking out GeForce Now as an alternative to enjoying Last Epoch if you don’t have the hardware for it.
GeForce Now is a Cloud Gaming service hosted by Nvidia. All you need is an internet connection and a copy of Last Epoch. GeForce Now allows you to turn almost any device, Mac, TV, phone, iPad, Steam Deck, or whatever you prefer, into a powerful gaming PC. The best part, it’s FREE! Of course, there is a premium subscription available if you wish, but you won’t need it to start enjoying your favorite games. Go check out GeForce Now for yourself so we can see you in Eterra.
Mike’s Teasers
Mike’s Teasers were lighter than usual for a two-month period, but that doesn’t make them any less exciting. Be sure to check out the Official Last Epoch Dev Stream, every Friday on Twitch to see the reveals live!
First up, he teased the new Loot Filter Sounds that came with Season 3. These can be used by you now!
We also got to see the new Verdant Swipe Cosmetic and a new Staff Cosmetic. These are available now, too.
Mike teased 3 brand new concept art… What do you think these are? Take a guess in the comments!
Tying up the end of the month, We got a good look at some new Class and Skill Nodes.
Build Spotlight
Harvest the weak, Flay the ones who run. Let your enemies learn the face of Death!
Travelers, it’s time we remind the world of Eterra what we are capable of. This month’s Build Spotlight goes to BlueBeyond and their Grim Reaper, Flay/Harvest Lich. Wick personally had the opportunity to test this build on the Discord Cozy Streams, and the pure terror this brings to the battlefield is deserving of attention.
Now, let’s get one question out of the way:
Is it a super-powerful, Uberroth one-shot, Meta build? No. As usual, we sought out a build that didn’t follow the meta but was still powerful enough to make it worth the attention. This build relies on constant movement and excels at chasing distant enemies (or lizards) who are always on the move. Rotating between Flay, Evade, and the Reaper Form Reap ability, you will be darting and flickering around the map faster than your foes can keep up. Layer in Aura of Decay and Death Seal, and you will feel unstoppable with this engaging, Rogue-mimicking build. So what do you need to know?
BlueBeyond explains in their own words, “This build relies on 2 uniques, luckily neither is required to be LP, and both are relatively easy to get at the beginning of Monoliths.” This means you can start grinding for the good stuff earlier, and really, that’s why we are here. Start your search with Army of Skin for boots. These will help give you up to 78 more damage for Harvest and will buff your Flay from 3k crit to 8k crit WITHOUT LP! Next is the Traitor’s Tongue. A versatile dagger with a bonus dependent on which hand it’s carried in. For this build, it’s recommended to keep it in your off-hand. That’s right, we’re using the new Lich Dual-Wield node too!
Following the build guide, you’ll find that there is no other gear mentioned, but take a look at the build equipment at the top of the page, and you’ll find some awesome suggestions. Velocyn’s Jaw has been amazing with this build. But we would be doing you a disservice by not mentioning a few important factors before starting this build.
Pros
- Fast Mapper
- Easily Farmable Unique items
- Insane DPS
Cons
- HP is halved to get lowlife bonus
- Melee (huge AOE so only kinda melee)
The lowlife has taken some getting used to, but thanks to a constant stream of ward and leech abilities, it hasn’t been a problem.
Give this build a shot if you want to test out all the cool new options for the Lich in Season 3. You won’t be disappointed.
Community Fun
How Tanky is Judgement Paladin? ….yes!
Have you ever wondered how powerful a Judgement Paladin build could be? Well, Djakamoe on Reddit has the answer for you. The video shows off their character facing off against a Shadoe of Orobyss. There was so much chaos, we were half surprised the character didn’t come out covered in smoke.
Itsallcakes on Reddit was just enjoying some time on the beach in Eterra. We agree, the scenes are beautiful. Be sure to stop and enjoy them the next time you find yourself passing through.
ThisAreOr on the Last Epoch Official Discord has been having some fun with LE-themed Magic: The Gathering cards again. This time featuring some art from Season 3, and a transforming Acolyte Planeswalker. Seeing these makes us wonder if Bird Tribal is a good deck in Commander. We might need to try it out.
What’s Next?
Travelers,
If you watched Sony’s State of Play today, you saw a couple of bits of exciting news. Last Epoch is coming to PlayStation 5 AND is getting a major expansion called “Last Epoch: Orobyss.”
While we aren’t ready to say much about what’s included or when you can expect it just yet, Orobyss represents our most ambitious plans to date, both in story and content. You can learn more about Last Epoch: Orobyss and the PlayStation 5 release by checking out our post over on PlayStation’s Blog.
In the coming weeks, we intend on sharing a bit of our plans for Season 4 and Beyond, as well - so keep an eye out!
This has been Eterra Monthly, a report on the happenings and changes in the world of Last Epoch. We hope you have enjoyed this month’s report and will see you all again soon.
