My question is - are they going to delay the patch notes as well? Or are we getting them as planned end of March?
Likely delaying them as well, otherwise they wouldnât be able to change things beyond the patch notes anymore after all.
Fair enough.
Itâs less than 25% according to EHG.
Unless the devs have said that or youâre an employee you donât know that & youâre just making shit up for whatever reason.
@Deviant BTW, âno youâ stopped being a viable argument in primary school so you might want to think of some others.
you are right but you are again projecting you clowns started âno youâ argument first
Its also ironic how you talk about making up shit when thats all you been doing in this thread
You not agreeing with stuff doesnât make that stuff made up. It also doesnât make the other person a clown but your repeated assertions & inability to put forth a coherent argument that doesnât revolve around âdude, stop projecting and copingâ does call into question your cognitive abilities. So you have fun when you try to do something serious like going to university or having a job, that shit definitely doesnât fly IRL.
I was reading this and was like no way someone believe this.
Then you said this and was like ohh phew, I know you had to be trolling with the first part. Yea you will learn who to block to avoid the forums warriors who troll all day.
Iâm not starting a season 3 weeks late or latter. Iâm skipping that season if I canât play at the start. There is nothing more important than playing at the start of the season. When the launch dates were close between LE and PoE 2, players are actually forced to make a decision on which game they will play. The majority arenât playing both, thatâs just not how ARPGs work.
At least now from a marketing standpoint LE has itâs own launch time where content creators and Twitch drops etc can all be at a separate time to generate hype around the new content.
Of course many players will just play PoE 2 now but the good news is itâs in early access so if itâs not a lot of new content when LE launches we can at least pull people over from PoE 2 because there will be content creators and marketing playing LE. Peopleâs eyes will be on LE and they will see it and say, you know what let me try it.
- Delaying LE while I wish it didnât have to happen was the only logical financial decision the company could of made. If they kept the original launch date EHG would be in serious trouble and LEâs future would of been in jeopardy. Iâd like to add moving release dates cost a lot of money too but itâs better than the future of LE being on the line.
@Deviant I recommend zipping it. Your posts are extremely low quality and likely already at the edge of incurring a reaction from EHG. Talk about topics and stop the insults, youâre doing yourself no favor. Youâre being the prime example of a forum clown this way. Change it and people will properly argue, so stop doing it in bad faith.
@Everyone_Else: I know feeding the trolls is a lovely thing, and itâs also providing value to point out things said by trolls to others to clarify positions and provide more information to the people which are not that troll.
But that guy solely derails it into personal arguments. Itâs not a critically urgent mandated command after all!
Why so?
What does it provide - for example - if youâre a CoF player?
Iâm kinda curious there.
Oh, he already said in the past that CoF players are a minority and only want a challenge, so the game shouldnât care about them. Much like the game shouldnât care if youâre not an ultra blaster, because if youâre not playing the game at the absolute limit then youâre not playing the game at all.
To him there only exists the ultra elite (which obviously use MG since that gets you the items you want the fastest), the rest are tourists, at best, and should be ignored.
Not that he will see this. Iâm actually surprised this has been going for so long without him blocking someone.
Yeah, this kind of background is something that definitely is missing in plenty of conversations.
A rough player categorization would be:
Trait 1: Itemization â Trade / CoF
Trait 2: Build Background â Meta / Custom
Trait 3: Socialization â Solo / Multiplayer
I define myself as a âSolo CoF player using Custom buildsâ. From this POV, starting fist day a season is⌠not that relevant.
For âSolo Trade players using Meta buildsâ, being ahead of the economy for attaining required items for their builds, is definitely a strong argument for starting early.
As for new players, assuming they can take any of the traits, EHG would favor the increase of the game population by making sure that the group of players with the more timing restrictions, has a smooth playing time. So I guess the delay makes some sense.
About season 2 number of players⌠not sure what to expect. But my hope is that EHG gets enough monetary push to be in the business for as long as possible.
He blocked me a long time ago. Probably because Iâm not an âultra blasterâ who regularly pushes builds into the 10k corruption with white gear like he does.
Yeah, I know. He blocked us both around the same time and because of this exact same discussion, iirc.
This just goes to show that your reading comprehension is lacking, since we werenât referring to you but to Abomb.
when trolls are calling out others for troll you trolls want for this game to not be succesful at all you just keep saying âplay what you like dont care about anything elseâ i care about the company itself not just about me i want for LE to grow big with lots of content and they are not gonna get there if they gonna keep releasing their cycle just few days apart from PoE/PoE 2 league launches do you even realize for game like this to make money they need get as much players as possible? becuz they got only MTX the best way to get as much players possible is let them being able to play on day 1 without needing to choose wich arpg game to play becuz they colide with each other how are you people so dense you all are just trolling
I agree with you there. But probably not for the same reasons. I hate time pressure. Yes, for me that makes Seasons in ARPG inherently not something I want. For me it sucks the fun right out of the game.
So yeah Iâm not starting late either just because Iâm feeling like I probably wonât have enough time getting all the things done I want to do. At season start this is not much of an issue because âitâs just startingâ. But if I start late? I would really want to play the new content to even start considering this.
Iâm very glad this isnât an issue in LE yet. Also - again just personal preference - a good âpatch dayâ brings me back way faster to a game than a good âseasonâ. For me it ticks the same boxes just without the annoying stuff.
Besides the point of time pressure, for me personally there is the observation of âstarting a whole thing together with everyone else - even if Iâm just playing solo - is funâ.
Dunno why that is, but it is true for me. Herd mentality/social animal things I would guess.
And for hardcore players there is probably the market, competition and speedrunning. All profit from an early start. Even for CoF players (like me) having a good start on the race to beat Abby is worth something.
Not anything that would interest me personally though.
I still find it hard to pinpoint how effective this twitch/youtube marketing actually is, but it does help. And I hope the content creators wonât be too invested in the new PoE content to switch over after those two weeks.
So out of curiosity, how long on average would you play a season for if you started on day 1? What would happen if you were 1/2 way through your list of things to do when another game that you really wanted to play started their season?
Well depends. Till I donât have fun anymore is about as sincere as I can be. Sometimes itâs till the season ends and sometimes itâs just for a few days because the content was not that interesting.
Honestly, donât know as PoE and LE are about the only ones that I play and have seasons. So far they did not come into conflict. So giving PoE the priority over whatever game I was playing or want to play is an easy decision (provided PoE is still fun at that point).
I donât have time to play everything I want to play anyway. So if I play a time gated game (like a season game or even Monster Hunter with itâs time limited event quests) Iâm pretty committed for a while.
I guess the Monster Hunter examples does fit here. Iâm very much into Wilds at the moment. I donât think PoE will be able to pull me away from it (I like PoE2 fyi). Especially since the first title update will drop sometime early next month I think.
shrug anyways itâs not like I make a science out of it. In the end I do what seems fun at the point in time.
Quick Edit: And if I know that something else comes along during a season chances are quite high I wonât touch the season game. Feels a bit wasted if I donât know for sure that I will have time to come back to it after finishing whatever I want to play. At least that is how I treated this case with non-seasonal game releases.
Yes, and to keep them a substantial amount of time. If they only stay 2 days to screw off and never come back you can have loads of people⌠but theyâll pay for shit.
Which was was the postponing of the release was done.
And theyâre not? What do you think 1.2 is? Thatâs actually decent amounts of content.
EHG is just darn slow in comparison to the competition⌠or hasnât proven us different yet.
A focus purely on the top-end players has been proven by GGG to be damaging (they had a while when they did that) and hence has decided to split PoE 2 off of it rather then including it as a second campaign.
Blizzard has shown that a focus on casuals purely also is detrimental, leading to short-term engagement and needing a substantial higher amount of players to sustain the company with the same amount of money while having higher upkeep costs.
Hence yes, the middle-ground of having fever players but dedicated ones actually showcased to be the best long-term strategy, given you can hit that sweetspot, which isnât easy to do but simply the optimal solution to strive towards currently on the market.
Exactly, hence why they postponed their release rather then doing it 2 days before PoE 2.
Also the frame in which theyâll be able to release is miniscule, GGG has seemingly - finally - managed to get their new core release cycle started, which will be 4 months for PoE 1 and PoE 2 each, hence every second month a release. Leaves only the month in-between those for LE.
That for example is a very fair and viable take!
Such comments are the good ones, thanks.
Itâs extremely effective. Twitch drops matter. Marketing is everything in the success of a game launch. Look at the insane marketing campaign D4 had with Megan Fox, KFC, twitch they did everything and that game was one of the most mediocre ARPGs to come out in recent years.
PoE 2 had a great marketing campaign too with podcast, interviews, twitch drops and the hype kept building that is why they sold well over 1 million early access copies. Over 1 million were watching on Twitch. Many streamers set records. Itâs important.
Hopefully LE can catch some lightning in a bottle and continue to build hype again. Need a flawless S2 launch the main thing that killed LEâs initial hype was the terrible launch with servers. That throttled a lot of hype sadly.
From an individual player perspective, it isnât that important really.
From the companyâs perspective, it is very important because of the players that are like Abomb. They get in the game quickly and push the competition and help build the hype for the game. Giving the slower players something to look at and potentially model.
If EHG didnât delay, they would have lost a lot of players to PoE2 just because others jump ship. Herd mentality and all. That loses EHG money in cosmetics most likely. As well as supporter packs. Who would pay for a supporter pack if they were only going to play for 2 days. These types donât come back to a season that is 2 weeks old if they missed launch.
I will say, though, that EHG probably got a pretty good boost just from the drama that happened and how they chose to resolve it. I saw a lot of people saying they would buy supporter packs just because of that.
