Iād love a basement though I donāt think theyāre particularly common in London (at least the part of London that normal people can afford). My ex-mother-in-law had one & it was awesome.

Even FOMO doesnāt apply, since thatās not really established in the first week.
The only way to stay ahead of the curve is to have prior knowledge as to what is going to be overpowered and accumulate enough wealth in the first couple of days to be able to afford to snatch items before they skyrocket in price.
That is not attainable by a normie. Thatās why ācasualsā canāt get on the FOMO treadmill until deep into the league start, usually week 2 and onwards, when more and more people start saturating the market and bringing the price down.

The reason why games try to avoid each otherās launches has nothing to do with the importance of day 1 for players. Itās all about getting the maximum number of players to join because studies have shown that seasonal games make the most amount of money with MTX in the first month. Itās also why GGG will always make a sale a couple of weeks into a new league.
So if they release a new season and a competing game starts 2 weeks later, that is effectively removing revenue from them. It has nothing to do with players feeling like they have to join from hour 0.

Keep in mind, 2 weeks after POE2 launches, they will release a large patch with probably new stuff in it. Plan ahead

I mean they are making the next gen ARPG of the future. They deserve some credit and why they had well over 1 million early access sales. The game has a bright future and more End Game than LE currently in early access. Iām sure when PoE 2 fully launches they will have 3-5 million players because it will be free to play offering more than any ARPG in the market.
So Iād give them some credit. I just hope EHG can survive and Season 2 is successful bringing back at least 200k players. They need Season 2 to hit or wellā¦ LE wonāt have many more seasons. Thatās just the reality of the gaming industry.

Thatās extremely unlikely. This ship has already sailed. People who were hungry for a new action RPG already found Path of Exile 2, and people who tried Last Epoch and gave up on it likely wonāt return for the second season. The huge gap between 1.1 and 1.2 also likely didnāt help. I would expect Last Epoch to get at most 100.000 concurrent players on the season 2 release.

I prefer to work and make money instead of trying to log into a game that has a broken login server or some other problem. I donāt know a single popular aRPG that has had a clean flawless season start. Almost always login problems. Iād rather wait a bit.
I also donāt nolife games to have the currency to buy the items on the market anyway. arandan is correct in his assessment of āaverage normiesā. I canāt sit in a seat and play a game for 8 hours.

I can, but that seems to be a rare thing these days. I have a job so I canāt game for that long during the week, I see my kids at the weekend so that takes out 1 morning & Iāve now got a significant other so thatās sporadically taking time out on the other weekend day plus during the week as well.
Not that I could ever be arsed to ānolifeā a game 'cause I enjoy sleeping.
