Bought LE on Steam tomorrow. After creating new character the game started to crash every time after launching new game (with no crash logs). Steam check files thing said 100% files check and ready to go.
After installing game with the launcher I’ve finally was able to start it and walk through starting location, but now it is crashing every time I trying to move to another location (first camp) with “System out of memory” error.
Update on my issue:
After installing latest 471.68 Nvidia driver and system reboot allowed me to move some levels further to the first boss with no crashes. I’ll keep an eye on this.
LE is in beta so things like this are always possible - however the cause is not always clear so the more information the devs have to work with, the better.
Could you include your dxdiag output (for system info) & the in-game settings file (le_graphicsmanager.ini)?
Based on the Error log information, you will see that your system actually has plenty of free memory at the time it crashed the UnityPlayer.dll… This kind of error can happen for a variety of reasons and while the player.log refers to memory issues, it could be caused by anything from a bug in the game to GPU drivers to OS patches to simply trying to run the game at in-game settings that are known to cause problems.
As you mention that an updated GPU driver has helped, this leads me to believe that there could be something specific on your setup or the settings that you are trying to use that could be the primary cause of this.
The dxdiag/in-game settings will help, but from the error log I also see that you are running 19041 Windows 10 version… there are updates 19042/43 since then so I would also recommend that you upgrade your windows.
The most stable configuration for LE right now is 1080p, 60fps framerate limited and all settings to very low or disabled. This config, while not looking the best, should be the most stable - if you are still crashing, temporarily use these settings and see if the stability improves… If it does, then you are suffering from the known performance issues in the game and simply need to be conservative with your settings… For example, I run the game with a 1060 GPU at 1080p, 55fps limited with all settings on very low… I can run the game on higher settings and even get 100 fps @ 1080p, but the game gets unstable if I do… Most important setting is to not allow unlimited framerates - LE will max out your GPU if it can so be sure to have limits in place.
Also… make sure you are not running any other applications while testing LE… there are known issues with Unity (the game engine) and certain apps (sometimes obscure like Citrix/Teamviewer) causing problems… So for testing purposes, just dont run anything while playing… this includes things like graphic overlays (Steam included).
