Low & choppy FPS on lowest settings in Ubuntu

Game runs much better in Windows 10, high settings, very good. In Linux screen is choppy, not fluid, FPS from 70-20. Tried every setting from Ultra to Low, Vsync on and off as well as Fullscreen & windowed. Trying to avoid keeping Windows 10 just for this game but currently unplayable in Linux. Also when switching Operating System previous characters created are lost when logging back into account.

Thanks.

Hey there, I’m running it on arch and Ubuntu. Arch with zen kernel, Ubuntu with xandmod kernel.
I’ve also installed gamemoded on both distros, with gamemode %command% in the launcher. It runs ok, but on some maps I get frame rate drops. I’m running the latest Nvidia drivers, with a gtx 1080, and a i7 6700k overclocked. I feel performance wise it could be better, but it’s really playable. I’m also on max settings. Overall it’s good, but like I said the frame rate drops here and there are annoying. On one map in monolith, it’s unplayable. I wish they had vulkan support within the game as a setting like poe.
I’ve also tried alternative proton versions, including gloriouseggrolls. Unfortunately the performance was much worse. Lastly I’m unable to run any keyboard binds with the default steam Linux vs, where as macros worked when I used gloriouseggrolls proton.
I hope this helps.

Found a fix for my choppy performance, this also fixes screen tearing in my gnome desktop;

Open up NVIDA X Server Settings app > go to X Server Display Configuration > click Advanced button > enable Force Composition Pipeline & Force Full Composition Pipeline > make sure to Apply AND Save X Configuration File after.

This smoothed out performance, steady 80 fps on high settings without any random slideshows and my desktop no longer has screen tearing which was annoying when scrolling through websites or code.
