Last Epoch Roadmap

Arrogance. The word you’re looking for is “entitlement.”

You can. And? That doesn’t mean most people will or that there aren’t people who play offline without editing their characters who should suffer and not be able to experience the content.

  1. I don’t see why it can’t just be a way to cancel animations rather than becoming a reflex check.

  2. That would be poor design, it’ll likely not be great for moving and again more for a small relocation.

  3. While this would be skilled, relying on a server for this sounds nightmare ish. Do we actually know it’ll have iframes and not super armor?

  4. I don’t think it does, traversal skills are to move around, dodge skill is to reposition a small bit when you’re usually locked into an animation, so you’ll be able to use your dash to get out of the way.

  5. This one just doesn’t make any sense. Are you expecting dodge to take over all defenses or something?

I don’t think any of the current games similar to this one, has the dodge taken over. I don’t understand where this fear is stemming from, except maybe from unrelated games.

I happen to live in a country with a third-rate ISP that blocked the game servers, and otherwise, my connection is not always stable.

But all of that is besides the point, it’s called offline cycle: it should be a fully fledged cycle, no cuts, no delays.

Not sure what the point you’re making is. I never told anyone how to play, and don’t need anyone to tell me either.

Ok, cool story bro.

Nowhere in the definition of description of any of the words you’re using, does that make it that you had to play it at the same time as everyone else. As of right now, all you’re repeating is because “it should”. If you want to make an argument, then you should state a valid argument, all people are seeing is you feeling entitled to something that has no real negative to you, except what you can say being a negative that applies if reversed also.

I have no stakes in this, as I don’t care either way.

Skill sigils sound like they have the potential to make the skill system too complex and convoluted, this is a fine line right there, please be careful not to overdo it

Did you already decide what happens with the cycle STASH TABS when a cycle ends? Are they just added as remove-only to the non-cyle stash like Path of Exile does it?

Why is it called cycle then?

Let me recap this for you, because it seems to have gone over your head or you missed some of the context:

Person A says Offline mode players shouldn’t be able to play the new content because Person B, an offline mode player, could edit their character and spoil the endgame for them by streaming and posting videos of it.

Person B says that is a pretty crappy argument, because there are people who literally cannot play online but still want to play the new content as it is released.

Person A’s solution is to make Person B wait so that Person A doesn’t get spoiled by videos, etc. What Person A doesn’t realize is that if you make Person B wait for the new content, then Person B is going to get spoiled by the online players’ content (streaming/videos).

The only entitlement I see is Person A thinking they are more entitled to new content than Person B. (edit* fixed the reversal of A and B)

If it doesnt show your dps its not a dps target dummy…

No, because there is scale.

if online person beats it in 24 hours thats one thing, vs literally cheating your way to the encounter in minutes.

What happens if you spawn a level 100 character with god gear, you hit end of time, delete monos, then just right into the end game encounter! this can be done in less then 4 hours, the scale is not the same.

Thats a false equivalency.

The problem is the scope. Thats why I think the lockout should be whatever is feasibly the minimum. heck id say 24 hours if thats an option. But sweaty online players wont even come close to the speed at which bad actors can flood the game with spoilered content.

It literally shows your damage numbers… As they happen, in other words… per second xD plus you can mouse over a skill to see it’s DPS.

That is just incorrect. No DPS target dummiess show DPS numbers. What you are looking for is a DPS meter, not a target dummy.

Cycle refers to, part a loop. A loop is where you start, and finish at some point, and start again. I don’t know what you think a cycle is. But cycles don’t have to be connected to other people, it’s your ‘cycle’. A cycle in this game would be, the order of events you do - You start a new character, level up, and go through similar things you did last loop.

Each “cycle” they add new stuff so it’s the same loop but with more stuff added, hence a new “cycle”. it has nothing to do with an exact time of starting, the only relation to time in a cycle is usually the order you do things. Cause you start a new cycle.

The abuse case is definitely real, and unfortunate, but we don’t make laws for nice people, we make laws for those who abuse nice people. In this case I agree with offline waiting for online, and if there indeed are events for racing to pinnacle boss kills, you likely won’t even be affected. I voted for waiting for first kill to unlock (question 2, option 4) and immediate unlock (question 3, option 3). If that ends up being how they do it, unless you are a world first caliber LE racer, you won’t even notice a delay.

It’s literally what they chose to name their equivalent of D4 seasons and PoE leagues, you’re the one making up definitions now.

I’m giving you a like just for that irony.

You don’t think bad actors will find a way to spoil or leak the content? I mean do you even play video games? Don’t you realize there are bad and good actors who break down every patch, decipher the code and leak/spoil features of games nearly every day?

Your scope would make more sense if there was no possible way someone could do what you are saying they would do just using the offline tools available to them.

Offline doesn’t get leaderboards for that reason, and that is fine: I understand that competitive integrity cannot be guaranteed in offline, and I sacrifice that by choosing this mode, but not access to content, even temporarily so.
