Hi folks! Hoping to receive some assistance, as I’ve exhausted my (limited) ability to alleviate this issue. I’ve done everything asked of me from a technical standpoint based on Last Epoch’s recommended procedures. Little back ground, I very recently upgraded my local storage drive to a larger one. I did a clean install of windows. At the same time, I upgraded my GPU. Everything went well. However, Last Epoch fails to launch now. No other steam game has this trouble currently. LE will launch reliably, only one time (but every time) after I restart my machine. I can seemingly play as long as I want with no issues. Graphics maxed out or at the very low end, doesn’t seem to make a difference. If I exit the app, It will not launch again until I restart my PC. I’m sure this is (hopefully) something relatively simple. Great game, great job to everyone involved, and I’ve seen no less consideration from the Technical support side.
Steam files have been validated multiple times successfully.
Memory scan comes back with no issues.
File checker comes back with no issues.
Drivers up to date. (have not tried a clean install)
Completely uninstalled, and reinstalled LE. (full download/Clean install)
Attatched are the requested logs. I sincerely appreciate any and all help! Again, great game, great community, and great job!

I’m just another player, but maybe we can figure it out.
The next time you are in a position where LE won’t launch, open up Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and let me know if you see a Last Epoch process still running. If it is, try ending the process and then try running LE again.
I’ve had this problem in other games and apps, where the process gets orphaned for some reason and it won’t run again because it thinks it is still running. This obviously isn’t a fix, but may be a workaround that is a little more convenient than having to restart your PC every time.
See what I mean about great community?
That was actually one of my go to first moves a couple days ago when it first began crashing. Thats not necessarily why I was looking for it in Task Manager, but I did look for it there, and nothing. I’ll def look again and report back just to be sure! Thank you so much!
Update: No, no sign of it in TM after crashing. I can watch steam start, then fall off before launching LE. Thanks a bunch for the suggestion!
Hmm. Are there any errors in the Windows Event Viewer when you try to run it that second time?
Absolutely. I didn’t include that here, as I wasn’t sure it was relevant. I’ll see if I can figure out how to fetch one and drop it here.
Well, for some reason I’m not able to copy the error text. The copy button does nothing. Can highlight and copy either? Any ideas?
I got it!

I just tried rolling back my drivers. No change.
Hey there. Seems like you tried a lot. Have you tried disabling any overlays (Discord, Steam, etc)?
Also, i notice you are using an Intel Arc (rad). There was another forum post about Arc issues around recently. I searched bur couldn’t find it. Ill look again tomorrow
Hi! Thanks for the reply! I’ve tried it without using any other programs, as in, I either exit out of them or don’t start them. Is there a particular way to disable them? I wondered if i was having trouble with the intel card too. Anything would be appreciated!!
So, that DLL is a graphics driver. Go to the Last Epoch installation folder (you can find it by right-clicking on the game in your steam library) and delete the imgui.ini file. This will reset your graphical settings in the game to default, basically, so you may wish to back the file up to your desktop.
If that doesn’t work, run a CMD prompt as administrator and run the command “sfc /scannow” (no quotes).
If that doesn’t work, you may want to try to install older drivers, or update to the latest if you aren’t using the latest.
I’ll give this a shot. I rolled back drivers last night with no change, and as far as i can tell, im on the latest driver. (Sep '23 per intel) but I’ll absolutely try! Thanks everyone!!
Whatever the result, I hope our problems will get resolved soon. I don’t want to have to use my phone’s mobile hotspot just to play online. You should be able to play the game without having to restart your computer every time.
For sure! I have alot of confidence in the EHG team, and I never mind an industry shake up either (hence my intel gpu) so, I’m sure it will get resolved. Its a great game.
Update: None of the above worked. Removed the Img file and same symptoms. Did (yet another) System scan, and came back in the green. So, the research continues.
Well, at this point, I’d say we need to wait for the support team to get the ball rolling to fix our problems. Have a good one.
I sincerely appreciate your trying to help! Happy gaming!!
Heya @bennybellum and @codyham12
They just released a new patch last night (my timezone).
Maybe the problem is gone now?
I got the patch last night as well, and no change. Although, I have not restarted my PC to see if that helped any changes take effect. Fortunately, for me, I can still play, its just a pain if i exit the app and want to re-launch in the same session without restarting. So, definitely could be worse. I truly appreciate your checking on us!
