This would be a huge step backwards. This was in the patch notes but now I can’t seem to find much info about it. Hopefully this was a misprint or something they don’t mean to do. You already barely have any shards by level 15ish anyways so it’s dumb to not let them drop right away. Most people use shards and try to get some better gear after selecting their specialization etc around that level.
Well, imagine you are new and you get a shard and you’ve not had the crafting tutorial.

Well I don’t know exactly how it works until a Dev elaborates on it further. So I’m not gonna speculate. I’m sure it will be fine though lol. This isn’t a sky is falling scenario.
What!!! Then don’t fucking use them yet… Same as people have been doing for the first 3 seasons. Have the tutorial for shards be In the first town then if theynare worried about idiots… and let em drop right away. This is fucking retarded and this game is going backwards faster than it can go forward. They need to stop making changes and games for idiots. If you don’t understand the game do some research or play a different game.

It’s a bad change and 90% of people have no idea it got changed. So once people play and realize they are dropping 0 Shards until level 15 then you will hear how bad the change is. They changed it cause of people like you. Idiots who think the game is hard. Hate how this game is slowly turning into d4 with easy this and Easy that… pathetic
So… it’s bad if the game becomes easy, but a change that makes the game harder (at least until you finish the tutorial) is also bad? That doesn’t seem consistent.
Either way, no, it’s not until level 15. It’s until you finish the quest, which shows up near the end of act1. You’ll usually reach it before level 10.
The level 15 you’re thinking of is if you log into a character level 15 or higher, it will automatically complete that quest.

Just answer me one question, new season drops, do you go to maxroll and pick a build? or start crafting your own.
I thought I saw some people mention in a video the forge quest/tutorial was round the end of area one near that dude riding the big ol’ bird and shards more than likely will drop before then so you get to use them once you activate your forge. When I first played LE I dont think I hit the F key til I was about level 40 so no drama here haha!

I make my own builds based on patch changes. Use the le planner. That is almost more fun theory crafting vs playing the game…

Correct. I just looked again and it’s in the osprix war camp so yes quite a bit earlier than originally stated. Things still weird to not let them Drop before that but either way you can get here by level 6-8 easily so all in all it’s fine. Crisis averted

I reckon it’ll still drop you just won’t be able to press F to open forge to use them until you activate the tutorial, least that’s what makes sense to me lol

I mean i dont think this is a make or break, but Im not really sure I agree with their logic here.
So now players cant organically find out about it. And if they skip the random tutorial they wont drop mats and thus cant figure it out either?
This feel almost counter to how it should work…
I think as mentioned just above this comment - it’s much earlier on and you still get shards and the npc interaction is right by the boss so you literally can’t miss it, you could “speed run” and portal out as the birdman dies and save a whopping 12 seconds on your levelling OR you could click it, next next next next and unlocked → then portal
I don’t think it’s an optional quest. I think you can’t skip it.
interesting, feels really forced, I guess we can never underestimate peoples ability to not read or listen to what the game tells them. the game already hit you with “hey this is what does this, here is game guide” and already had a forge placed in the armory in chapter 1 that explained the forge… and in chapter 2 there is a lady who wants you to go to a forge as well.
And people didnt read all this then were confused, and then now I need to do some stupid mini quest because of these freaks? yeah kinda agree that maybe we dont need to dumb down the game this bad…
“new quest, shows you how hp works, you cant die or heal or progress until you finish this quest” like i dunno its a bit grim for gamers if they cant figure these things out.

PoE2 pauses the game until you use a health flask for the first time.
If I understand correctly. On your second character after you completed the quest on an account that has a shared stash. They will drop. Just not until it’s unlocked account wide.
So first playthrough nothing drops till the forge quest.
Isnt the crafting area the zone after end of time? That means no more ascendance lucky runes at start.
