I give up with this game. (rage)

I honestly don’t understand how ARPG games work. I tried following builds. I tried learning about armor. I’ve tried leveling. I have my void knight level 54. I beat Lagon the other day and now I have to do it again? NO thanks. This game is really buggy. Plus it’s very biased and you can’t even say the word “Trump” without it being censored lol which is funny to me. Think i’m going back to Diablo 4… It was a tad bit easier. Adios =)

LE is so bad now that it manages to make Diablo 4 look good.
Honestly this game is dead and I have no hope of improvement, if you want a true ARPG experience play Diablo 1-2 or Titan Quest. Do it for fun, calmly and without rushing, without playing 20h/7d. and you will be happy and you will understand what these failed devs are incapable of understanding. Games are entertainment, the power of Diablo 2 is that we have so much fun that we want to go back and play again, we want to find the rare things, test other builds. They don’t understand this, they create games that look like a job, where you are forced to play for the sake of playing, just for an infinite and meaningless grind that deep down has NOTHING, it’s hollow, there’s no good story there, there’s no fun, inventive, or surprising gameplay, these games are all the same, the bosses have become FallGuys scavenger hunts that met Soulslike, you don’t fight a villain for their story because that doesn’t matter, you fight bubbles or laser beams like a scavenger hunt and anything kills you… UNLESS you’re playing with one of the 2 meta builds that border on exploit.

D3 and D4 are definitely more accessible to players who aren’t used to ARPGs, and that’s OK. I prefer GD, LE, and TQ over D3/D4 and PoE, thankfully there’s a game for everyone.

Good on you for giving it a shot and have fun in D4.

Jesus! Why so salty? It almost feels like LOL chat. If you dont like LE then dont play it.

And about Meta Builds… I managed >300 Corruption with basically every build I tried or even made up myself. Before reset I had a Warpath Void Knight at >800 corruption… And I am far from a good player. So when you get oneshot you either have some issues with your builds or you need to train a bit dodging.

bye, game just hard for ya brain

Opinions go either way, for me LE is in a good state right now, the event modifiers gave it some fresh feeling and you can re experience the whole aberroth thing with a few boosters. For me it’s really cool, also I feel like this game is showing how much potential it has, seems like it could be a big thing if they keep developing it for 1 or 2 years more.

lol you’re a casual go home.

“if you want a true ARPG experience play Diablo 1-2 or Titan Quest” Yeah D2 was cool when I was literally 12, and Diablo 1 was cool before I was born.

It’s 2024, wake up. D2:R is dead, because game’s can’t survive on pure nostalgia.

If you think D4 is more fun than LE, you haven’t actually done the “ENDGAME” grinds in D4. Definitely haven’t done them every single season since launch and been let down and pissed off every time…

If you have absolutely no idea WTF you’re doing, you just login and click buttons and make a random decision on if you found it fun…Yeah that’s about the only way your post makes sense.

Go Home.

I don’t think LE having problems right now makes Diablo 4 good, personally. Maybe it’s mindlessly easy to play, but that’s not a virtue in my estimation.

What you might do instead is try Path of Exile 2 or Titan Quest 2 when they come out. In the meantime, go on a tour of the older ARPG’s. They’re (almost) all still available and there’s no reason not to play them. (Diablo 1 & 2, Titan Quest, Torchlight 1 & 2) then play more recent stuff (Path of Exile, Grim Dawn, Victor Vran, etc). Any of those games you might find way more entertaining than Diablo 4 if you’re into isometric action games.

I assume they’re fairly grindy? I get bored way before that.

I didn’t find that to be the case. Current D4

  • To start, you’re gearing up to get the legendary/unique gear you need to enable the build
  • Get to a certain level (50) and you stop getting skill points, start to get paragon points. So now you are leveling glyphs (stuff you place in the paragon boards), so you are running a certain type of dungeon (nightmare dungeons, they have a level).
  • At the sametime as doing NM dungeons you do other stuff that gives you materials and equipment of a higher gear level and a think called the Pit which gives you materials for crafting (which makes your gear better).

At some point you get the uniques you need and your gear is at max gear level (currently 925). Then you can get into endgame which is to kill Torment bosses to try to get uber uniques (kind of brokenly good uniques). But you don’t actually have to do that, because that content isn’t new, just what drops is (possibly) new.

 but all that is changing for the expansion, so don’t read that up above. lol, yes, I’m an ass. Ok, not entirely, I like the changes they are bringing. If you have the game, you should try it again without the expansion. If you don’t have the game, you should wait till you are bored of everything else because it’s still not going to be very deep.

I wish the would steal more from LE in terms of skills, I’m glad they didn’t go completely insane with the passive/endgame system (paragon boards) like PoE.

I remember seeing that D4 added some skill augment stuff to gear (?) but I also remember being disappointed by their showcase of “Frozen Orb now has a chance to create a spirit that casts more Frozen Orbs!” I was like “oooooh! Woooooow! I can press 1 button and throw out a minefield of traps that when they explode they shoot Detonating Arrows, throw Acid Flasks, have a chance to create Ballistas, and spawn more traps… That also shoot Detonating Arrows, throw Acid Flasks, and have a chance to create Ballistas.”

Good for you… Like I said, you all maybe knowing about ARPG games. I for one depending on the game find it challenging. I have a learning disability and this game in the game options has zero guides on how to play… YouTube videos are garbage because 99.9% of them are all twinked out end game content junk and I have no idea how to even do that… So yeah, this game lacks a LOT of features. It’s trying to copy PoE hard. Wish this game was its own original concept coz it would of made a lot more player base.

Titan Quest 2 you gotta pay for it so i’m good on that… And PoE is even more Complicated lol… This is some what easier than PoE, but I just suck at builds and finding out what armor does what.

I don’t mind “grindy” but it’s more that you’re forced into doing what they tell you to, or not actually progressing your toon/etc. Many people just say “I hit lvl 100 killed some normal bosses did a mid pit, I’m done I’m already farther than 90% of the playerbase. GG till next season”

But anyone going past that is forced into actual nightmare of 95% doing something you didn’t want to do, so you can finally go do the thing you wanted for 5 mins. And it gets repeated, with a different skin, EVERY SEASON.

If your primary goal isn’t to find high quality content, I’m not surprised that you aren’t finding any or enjoying what you settle for.

Moreover, I’ve never heard that paying for a game is a problem. Do you suppose that the people writing the code and doing the artwork for these games should just work for free or live on poverty level assistance? Don’t we all constantly say we don’t like loot boxes and microtransactions in our games? Because that’s the alternative. What you’re essentially asking for is to get something someone else paid for due to their predisposition to waste their money.

I hope you either change what you’re looking for or don’t find it, for all our sakes. The road to misery has a sign promising “free stuff ahead” every mile or two.

(By the way, both LE and D4 are purchase-to-play games. How did you just now suddenly become only interested in free games??)

The in-game player guide is very extensive and explains 90% of the mechanics in enough detail to understand those systems and everything that isn’t explicitly explained is learned through trial and error.

I’ve personally cleared the campaign and early empowered monos (basically I find leveling new characters and trying new builds more fun than min-maxing one build) with 6 of the 15 masteries and didn’t follow a single build guide from anyone for any of them. I’ve literally seen players reach empowered monos by trying skills and seeing what felt fun and only after hitting a wall did they say “hmm, how can I make this better” because the game isn’t that difficult as long as you put gear on and specialize in at least one offensive skill.

Hi,

Are you up to learn with someone? Or do you want to learn things by yourself and if game does poor job at that then it just push you away from the game?

I respect that you want to be able to learn things by yourself with given resources and sometimes simplest thing to others is not simplest thing yourself.

I’m not the best player and poor in math. I just have lot of hours and know maybe thing or two. I would happily help if you need some tips or explaining how things work or we can also figure things out together ( like some things are confusing to me still) it doesnt help that this game has growing pains and some core stuff are in funky state.

Feel your pain when game is starting to give headaches and bad time rather than enjoyable time.

Not trying to defend the game (game has problems in many areas IMO), wanted give option if this would make experience better/enjoyable.

Best regards!

You should give Cat Quest 3 a shot. It is an arpg that is fun and maybe the game play you are looking for. There is even a free demo on the steam store.

You have a learning disability. Thats fine. And maybe LE ist not suited for your needs. Thats also fine. But then compare it to PoE? Ever tried crafting there? If you find LE too complex compared to PoE then I dont get your point…

It’s this phenomenon called genre.

PoE copied D2 hard and borrowed the passive tree from Final Fantasy X (might be a coincidence, and FFX is a different genre).

All diablo-clones copied something from other games in the genre and occasionally added innovative new to the mix. And every time you try to be innovative, you will find players who bemoan the good old days of D2 when the grass was less green (actual complaints during D3’s development were that it looked to cheerful) and everything was just better - missing the fact that they have turned from happy teen to cynic adult.
