Future extensions of skill behavior / gameplay

Are there any plans to introduce additional systems or mechanics that allow players to further customize how individual class skills behave, outside of the current options provided by skill-specific passive trees and unique items?

I’ve really enjoyed the depth of customization, particularly how the passive skill trees and unique items shape the way each ability functions. However, I’m curious whether the team is considering expanding this even further by introducing new layers of customization hat let us refine or reimagine how a skill operates within a class’s kit.

There is a new system in the roadmap, called Skill Sigils (AFAIK), that allows additional customization of skills in the skill trees. To me, it appears similar to the Woven Echoes, in that you place some sort of sigil item inside slots of the skill tree. It’s only been teased so far though, so we really don’t know anything about it other than the general concept.

I went looking for the teaser art … It can be seen in this old version of the roadmap, on the far right side labeled 1.4 … But this roadmap is no longer valid as of Season 2. We may see a new version in the near future
