FPS incredibly unstable after 1.0 patch

I am still having insane performance and fps drops in monoliths, this patch did not fix it. I have tried everything, lowest settings, drivers, closing everything else. I did not have these problems months ago when playing bear lightning druid, I am now playing bleed warlock. I had zero issues through the campaign. At this point I am basically between trying another class in offline, but I am hesitant because doing that and still having issues would really suck, unfortunately I have to change my review to negative because I cant experience 80% of the game which is late-game. Thank you for working on this I hope it can be fixed. Like mentioned I had no major issues earlier pre-release (playing necro and bear druid) and zero issues in other similar games. I play on a high end gaming laptop with all settings to lowest. It is only a issue in monoliths, though I have not tried arena, dungeons, offline or another class yet.

EDIT: Slightly better now after testing a bit more. I am 30-50 fps in monoliths. 30 when fighting, 50 when all enemies are dead and screen is fully clear. I logged into a campaign and sitting on 100-120. I have capped the fps on 120 after research.

I donā€™t understand why it is more than half the capped fps compared to campaign even when ZERO alive mobs on screen???

I made another test, just ideling on two new chars. One online one offline. The offline one had 20 more fps?

For me aswell, performance got maybe a slightly better, but mostly in the beginning of a monolith echo run. Fps drops are still there and the GPU utilization is still not addressed. Changing from high, to very low to ultra just to troubleshoot stuff here.

Uncapping fps and changing from very high to very low after a completed run (while still inside the monolith echo) does not get me much more fps (ulra =50fps / very low= 70fps). Changing to very low makes the fps hover around 70fps while the GPU utilization is just 50%. Changing to very high the fps are around 50fps with 70% gpu utilization.

Back in the hideout = 120fps (98% gpu utilization)
Changing to very low = 160fps (50% gpu utilization)

Alternating between mid, low, high I do not benefit changing to low settings. Restarting the game while being still in very low settings does not change anything

At some points the game gets unplayable, having fps drops from around 100 down to 30.
Plenty of stuttering, getting worst when thereā€™s a lot of mobs and skills flying around.
My specs : 7950x , RTX 4090, 64gb 6000mhz

The only area that I notice serious FPS issues in is THe Temple of Lagon area (and all sub zones leading to the Coliseum. In other areas it happens to but it isnā€™t noticeable unless Iā€™m watching the FPS meter. There is definitely something funky still happening with Cthotic Fissure too.

It doesnā€™t matter the graphical settings either. If itā€™s low or ultra the performance is terrible. Something is seriously funky with the game engine.

No other game or app has these issues.

Itā€™s bananas that this issue is not officially addressed by EHG, since the forums here, steam and reddit are filled with complaints by people having normal to good rigs about that topic.

The issue has been addressed, itā€™s just not been fixed. Yes theyā€™ve not made a dev blog post or announcement about it but theyā€™ve released a patch which only contained fixes specifically for this issue and apparently mentioned it was happening and being worked on before they released that patch.

Iā€™m pretty shocked they arenā€™t making an appearance in any of these big performance threads, or signaling in a very clear way that itā€™s a top priority. The game is legitimately unplayable for many and performance is IMO the most pressing issue to get sorted out.

The core game itself is incredible, but logging in to the first map and stuttering 20+ times within the first few minutes of it is just a horrible experience. Wondering if the next thing I do in the UI or next skill I press is going to cause a stutter has completely killed my mood for this otherwise great game.

Good to know it isnā€™t just me. I had to quit playing all together today cause from frames are constantly dropping to single digits when any more than about 10 enemies are on screen.

Mine has been getting hit hard too. I was in a map (forget which one) and map was fine until I got near the boss and frames literally hit 1 fps.

My highest RAM has been all day is 17.5gb. Iā€™ve experienced frames going down in the 20s/30s when Iā€™m normally around 120/144.

I am experiencing massive fps drops to the point where the game freezes for a couple of seconds and then I die. I dropped my graphics to medium>low and itā€™s still an issue. Iā€™m not sure if itā€™s because of the blast rain marksman spells, but I cannot do most monos, especially on a class that doesnā€™t have ward and has to rely on moving around.

same here, fps drops and will force to downgrade graphics from ultra 2k to 1080 in low settings and still having drops to 32 fps over and over.

Same. It got worse with the latest patch. Playing on a ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE GX551QR with 32 GB RAM and a GeForce RTX 3070.

However, it drastically improved once i disabled/disconnected the second monitor. Something seems to be very odd hereā€¦

Yea, same playing on an ASUS ROG STRIX with an RTX3070. Atm its basically unplayable in any monoliths with the fps going below 10 at times with constant stuttering. It was fine early on but got really bad a few days before the recent patch and more after the patch

@Devs please give some insight or replies as this is an issue ive seen on reddit, even Steam discussions and on the forums constantly

TLDR; Try changing to fullscreen mode. Worked for me.

Iā€™ve had this issue for a while as well, and before the 1.0.1.2 patch game even got to 1fps, froze and crashed. It seemed to be mostly fixed after the patch on my different characters, but upon creating a Warlock using Chthonic Fissure skill the issues returned(especially bad in Monoliths/Arena. Iā€™ve died several times because of lag and the game freezing for a few seconds at the time.

However, after simply changing the screen resolution from Bordlerless Window to Fullscreen and nothing else, and restarting the the game and Steam itself, it seems to be completely resolved. If you still have lag issues, see if changing to Fullscreen might fix it.

Same here issue on my side and I think on many more peopleā€™s computer who are just not vocal about this massive issue.

Itā€™s weird to me that Iā€™ve been searching for issues through this forum and Iā€™ve been seeing the same problem stated over and over again throughout early access years ago.

I do hope the devs address this officially and pull more resources on fixing this.

I really like the game and but oh my the game is not optimized at all.

Iā€™m already in Fullscreen mode. Moreover, they do not have ā€œexclusiveā€ fullscreen. Their fullscreen is more like ā€œborderless fullscreenā€ where I still can move my mouse out of the gameā€™s borders to the second monitor.

Iā€™ve updated my GPU to STRIX 4080 Super yesterday. As expected, no changes - still experiencing FPS drops :smiley:

Itā€™s very sad that we havenā€™t received any response from the developers. Not even any mention of it being addressed :frowning:

I have frequent stutters and fps drops. With such equipment, even the GPU fan should not start working. Please fix this fantastic game with optimization.

I have fps drops with the density of monsters, I have fps drops when I open my inventory and move the cursor over the equipment, I have fps drops when my cursor is on an item on the ground.

I play on an Acer Nitro5 laptop
specification:

Processor: i5 11gen 4.4 GHz
Memory: 16 GB 3200 MHz
Graphics: RTX 3050
Disk: 512 GB SSD

Changing the graphics settings from the highest to the lowest does not change anything ā€¦
