Eleventh Hour Games Community Engagement

On the topic of “For what type of in game events I would like to see”. It’s less an event and more a visual change.

Basically costume on mobs for event themed times.

Could be simple like the skeletons in game at Halloween have a carved pumpkin on their head.
Or it could be more integrated to lore and thematically fitting like lore specific events.
Let’s just pretend that there is a “Lagon Week” what co aligns with what would be the fall harvest before the ice came and froze the water. Causing the fishermen and tradesmen to be more active before they can’t work anymore. So with the increased use of the waterways angered Lagon and causes it to emerge from the depths and aggressively attack every thing close to the water.
With this setting all the areas near water would have temporarily spawning tentacles.
You could take it one step further and used the tentacles from the Lagon boss fight and make them engaging.

P.S.
While writing this it made me think, would I pay some money to have a mob mtx. And I think I would providing I have the cash to spare.

The youtube videos I’d like to see is to break down game mechanics, deep dive videos. This will help us understand why things happen when they do, and how to improve how we push through the monolith

Not really related to community engagement but feedback I wanted to provide nonetheless. I want to support you guys with cosmetics, but I have not been a fan of them so far. They are too outlandish. I would like to see better cosmetics that have more of a tradition class theme to them.

From a monetization side of things, please don’t over rotate like path of exile is doing. This is coming from a whale. I want to support last epoch and have bought all of the supporter packs to date. I will probably continue to do so also as long as the value appreciated. I love when you offer a set of gear for a fair price. Adding more effects for weapons, abilities, and things of that nature are more than fair.

Path of exile has lost its way. For example, their 90$ supporter packages contain mostly garbage and 1 cool armor set. I’ve bought multiple 500$ packs from Poe, but in the past it’s been items the community values. I want to support the studio while also benefiting from the sale as well. Keeping your supporter packs focused on quality and not sheer quantity is the way to go.

Test my theory, I’m happy to buy 2-3 different supporter packs next season to make my characters look dope af… unpopular opinion incoming (I don’t mind paying for a different class with 3 ascendancies / that’s justifiable in my opinion.)…. Ultimately, give me more options to give you money while keeping the prices reasonable… if you try to abuse your customer base, we don’t buy anything out of spite

My biggest feedback is having a consistent release schedule for new seasons. It really sucks when we have to wait for over half a year for a new season. You don’t need to have something absolutely crazy every time. Just something to spice things up enough to make us want to come back and try things out.

For the first question, I chose “other” because I want EHG to finish the current version of the game, namely, fix all the non-working passives, and tighten up the very weak skills.

This my story:
This season, like many others, I played on the reflect build (Thick of Blinding Light).
I started on Forge Guard > Paladin > then moved on to Primalist.
When choosing between Shaman and Druid, I thought, why does everyone play on a shaman and not on a druid? After all, does the druid have transformations from a Spriggan to a bear, where all thorn shields extend the duration of the action, and we get a great bear run? Everything turned out to be simple - the passive does not work (Roar of the Woodland).

The funny thing is, according to this post on Reddit, passivity has not been working for 2+ years:
https://www.reddit.com/r/LastEpoch/comments/1kd6x48/roar_of_the_woodland_still_not_working_2_year/
And game director Judd promised that he would investigate why the passive did not work. Apparently, the investigation has reached a dead end.

So don’t get me wrong, I don’t really want seasons, events, and other activities while we’re playing an unstable version of the game.

Nothing has done more for building hype than the Karv “leaks” on podcasts. I would love to see Mike and Karv give us more teasers about what’s coming.

EHG used to be VERY good at communicating with the community, please get back to it. It’s the best way to build up goodwill.

I really, really hope LE can survive all the negativity. All the best to the EHG team!

I would love a System like the “Greater Rifts” from D3 with Leaderboards. Last Epoch is missing some Endgame Motivation and i dont like to play Arena.

Question “What kind of in-game events would you like?”:

Community driven events. Like collect x amount of amber/bones/gold as a community and unlock in-game cosmetics for everyone that participated. Or we need to kill x harbingers on x corruption, to unlock a special vendor for x days which sells some rare items for everyone to buy with amber/bones/gold, maybe without the prerequisite on the end of a season, to spend all your currency, to get really strong and enjoy it before the next season begins (all items obtained that way, vanish when the next season starts).
Or a task board (for some time), which grants some keys, or some runes etc.

Other: I would like to not have to wait 6-8 months for mid seasons or not to have paid classes, since everyone knows the new paid class will be stronger and more interesting than base classes. The game I love and supported durning early alpha is becoming more and more like D4(paid classes, bad seasons, poor communication)

What kind of streams would you like?

  • Extension of “Development Updates” having a stream where someone goes through all the “bugged” and broken content in Last Epoch and shows how it’s been fixed and worked on.

This does two things - it shows the community that EHG is 1. AWARE of the bugged content and 2. That they have thoughts and fix ideas around resolving it.

Instead of YEARS of the same content being bugged and not knowing if EHG even knows the abilities aren’t functioning right, gear isn’t functioning right, etc.

Better end game not involving damn monolith echo grinding. New dungeons/ raids with multiple different mini bosses and big bosses. Different mechanics, make grinding fun and a real reason to make different builds. End game is so shallow and boring.

Speaking for my cousin here, but he’s been begging for bear skins mtx for druid since the launch of the game. What are the odds we can get some bear skins so that I don’t have to listen to him complain anymore… haha.

I couldn’t care less about in game challenges. Streams and videos only interest me if its about new content or future content. I’m only gonna read blogs/posts about new or future content. I just want new content. Give me classes/masteries/skills/items/progression systems/etc.

I would like to see some dungeons, like Lost Ark had. No arpgs have had this since them. Would also like to see some seasonal set armours and legendaries that can drastically change how you play your class.

“What kind of in-game events would you like?”

I would suggest to come up with something like “Randomly generated events”

The first thing that comes to my mind is a Gin tower (like woven echo Nemeses Conquered Tower), but each subsequent level/floor is harder (each new floor introduce new buff for monsters that will added to all previous ones).

For example:
at level 1 the mod: all monsters have +15 to all resistances;
at level 2: all moster have +15 resistances and + have haste;
at level 3: +15 resistances + haste and + 2000 armor;
at level 4: +15 resistances + haste + 2000 armor and monsters deal additionally 10% fire damage.
etc.
And the higher you up - monsters get more significant buffs (both defensive and offensive).

In addition, the higher you climb up tower, more curses will imposed to traveler (maybe every 5 floors). For example:
5th level: 20% less movement speed;
10th level: 20% less movement speed and + 20% less cooldown recovery speed for all skills and spells;
15th level: 20% less movement speed + 20% less cooldown recovery speed for all skills and spells and + all resistances reduced by 10%;
20th level: 20% less movement speed + 20% less cooldown recovery speed for all skills and spells + all resistances reduced by 10% and + 50% less dodge and block chance.
etc.
And the higher you up, more significant curses will be imposed.

Also, there should spawn a random monsters on the floors - sometimes it will be champions, sometimes bosses, sometimes simple and rare monsters etc, so player will not know what awaits him next and it would be more interesting and difficult to climb higher and higher. Also you can add some traps that will randomly appear in random parts of the room, so that it would not be just another grind of monsters. This will help diversify game process from simply grinding mobs and players will need to take care about their moving on map and movement abilities.

All this points together would be quite difficult but at the same time exciting.
Also It could be not a tower, but some kind of Sphinx crypt, where you go down instead of up.

And I think you can invent many similar things, based on such randomly generated mechanics, with their own characteristics, each of which can be responsible for a separate mechanic.

Just come up with something new, your own, don’t copy from others.

P.S.
I really appreciate everything you do, but I don’t want to play PoE 3, I want to play Last Epoch.

Would really like to know more about the Paradox class system. It just sound like a scam/pay to play uncomplete classes that might get scrapped. Would really like to hear more about this system.

I would love to have deeper skill personalization and more depth to it and more sinergies.
Also better visuals, wether paying or free. i.e. if skeletons have a chance to bleed on hit, its weapons drop blood or have a red aura, with more intense color the more bleed chance they have, same for poisson, like a green cloud arround the weapons the more poisson chance, same with ignite, freeze… you get the idea.
Also I would like to have both viable thorns build and minion thorns build, and more character leech through minion damage options.
Also it would be very nice to have more cinematics. and more lore of the character, like a pre-campaign game while learning the class lore, different for each class…
Thank you very much!!! I love this game, let’s make it even better!!!

I would love to see increased gold drop amounts also more gold when selling junk items to the vendors .Maybe also would be a thought is to add a in game group finder for Mono’s it would bring more people together to group up and play cuz it just feels like its a single player game with a global chat

Others have already suggested Challenge League mechanics ala PoE. I second this - I enjoy playing LE more than PoE but PoE keeps me longer because they give me a checklist of things to chase - “achieve this milestone get this reward”

And it doesn’t even have to be major rewards - like I’d stick around for some simple recolors of skill fx for instance. Easily implemented pets, etc.

As for FOMO - let people have it - it’s ok - if they get the chance to hop the next train for rewards all good.

Events once in a while to renew numbers would be good. Again some minor reward offered to everyone for a milestone. E.g. increased difficulty in campaign and endgame, reward for reaching lvl XX.

I feel like LE seasons badly need a “Carrot on a Stick” mechanic to go after besides just dropping people in with a new gaming mechanic and saying “ok just play until you’re tired of it”
