Im at 200 corruption, and my ward+hp when fighting is ~9k and I have maxxed resists on all- my chances of dying are basically zero right now. Killing things faster is the problem, not defenses. I’m not running really interested in running vengeance, so not swapping that out.
For the weapon- yes, it’s not ideal, but it works for now. I’m aiming to swap it out for a good 1H axe+shield, once I get the axe. Why should I would drop the block nodes- it’s free damage reduction and the staff has built in block and as mentioned I plan to swap it out to 1h+shield. Holy aura swap-this is definitely the right call long term, but I’m sitting at near 100% crit chance right now with rive with the helmet so the crit multi node is kinda useful, will definitely switch it out once I swap weapons.
I’m also not direct casting sigil, so the cast speed there is not helpful. I do need to redo this tree to grab the healing efficiency nodes over ignite though.
Well it’s your call. Simply pointing out that your build is not optimized. That 10% attack speed you so dearly held on to can be fixed with passive points and weapon change. For you to complain about attack speed and using a staff is baffling to me. But hey, you do you. But there’s always an opportunity cost and you’re just gonna have to pay it.
If a rare jade amulet drops with an open prefix you can craft t5 phys damage on it. If it has a t1-t2 any prefix then you can seal it easily and craft t5 phs damage on it. I fail to believe you haven’t found a single rare jade amulet with either an open prefix or a t1-t2 prefix and a single glyph of despair.
It might happen that you’re really lucky with crits and glyph of hopes and you craft an item with perfect 4xt5 affixes at level 30 and can’t replace it until level 90 when you finally find an exalted but t2 phys and t2 ignite? If you use everything crafting offers then it’s impossible not to craft a better amulet than that in 80 levels.
The only issue is MG prices seem to be rising fast. I think people are wising up. Or else folk like me who had been sitting on huge gold piles boughtup everything that was a bargain. I got a ton of 5% health / 17% resist idols for example. I bought dozens of those (I have many Alts) mostly under 10k, now well-rolled ones are 1 million.
In addition I think a lot of players did not initially understand how MG rep worked and assumed that it was necessary to sell an item in order to gain rep (it isn’t, you just need to list an item for sale and the asking price is irrelevant). So as a result, we had a couple of weeks of people putting crazy good items up for 0g. People have wised up to that too now. (And I’ve bought them all. ;P) Again prices are now rising fast as a result.
So only come to the MG if you are rich or have decent items to sell that will make you rich. The MG honeymoon period is over.
It’s nothing to do with fair, or even balance. It is offering the players a choice depending on the experience you want. If you like trading, MG. If you like drops, CoF.
I would add this… if you join the MG while having little gold, it will be a wretched experience, and considerably worse than CoF. I play Legacy so I have no idea how prices compare. So no idea what kind of gold amounts are relevant here.

Reading ftw. Also got several Twisted Hearts and Omnis for under 50k as I had gaps on many Alts for those. All sorts of ridiculous bargains.
Don’t believe me? I don’t care. I had to create a new stash tab to hold many dozen new 5% (and 3 Vitality / resist) idols. That was the most expensive part.
I feel flooded with Exalted items anyway when I am MG and level 100. I leave most of them on the ground because most of them are useless.
I don’t see how that can compare with spending 30 seconds precise-purchasing an Exalt that has exactly what you need on it (or can be easily made so with a little creative crafting).
You can’t even sell or trade this abundance of CoF Exalts as I understand?
To my understanding you can’t sell only drops from prophecies. But i never played MG so …You are maybe flooded wich exalts on MG, but you definitelly don’t drop 40+ unique whatever item you pick from killing single boss
I don’t need to kill a boss. I don’t need 40 Exalted items.
I just need to go buy the exactly right Exalted item with no fuss.
However I have plenty Alts, so I do plan on taking one of them to CoF just to see. But I will be honest, the fact that all those Exalteds that drop from CoF cannot be given to my other 20 Alts (who are MG) is just ludicrous and puts me off CoF in every way. I have already seen the power of MG. Tons of my Alts have joined MG and used the tons of items I bought. It’s too late for them to even think about CoF.
The design here with the 2 faction’s gear being mutually exclusive is very very bad. It’s very unsatisfying, splits your stash down the middle and the absolute opposite of fun.
I feel that the real pain is 3+LP items not exalted, but of course, everything depends on the prices in MG. If you can buy 3LP item for some top meta build for reasonable price, it is obviously better. I have my doubts you can, but as said dont play MG, so i can be wrong
I have heard people mentioning you can target farm Despairs from CoF. Is that a thing?
Now THAT would be worth making a single CoF char for. I’ll just pick an Alt that is already geared in BiS and blast Cof with them purely for Despairs.
Is there any restriction on my use of Despair Glyphs if I farm them via CoF? Does it require high rank?
Fair point. Everyone’s view of a “reasonable price” will vary. I was sitting on 138 million gold when I joined MG, so my view of a “reasonable price” may not be the same as others. (This was legacy I hasten to add, took years to amass that).
Reen worked out ok- the damage is about the same as it was with the staff, but because of the much faster attack speed (like 40% faster between the passive tree and just the 1h base compared to 2h), my ward can hit up to 15k. I was already pretty much invulnerable but now I have to afk to die.
I replaced half my gear within a few minutes of rep grinding for MG and everything was 25k or less. I’m sure the really top end gear is pricey, but when I was sitting there with items that I hadn’t been able to upgrade in 20-30 levels, it wasn’t hard to get replacements in for all my slots dirt cheap.
Your post just screams “Im a diablo player so I cannot/dont know that crafting matters and I should craft to improve my gear instead of waiting for it to drop on the floor while my brain just drools out of my ear” especially with your dumb complaints of Glyph of Hope not working for you in a “thousand tries”. You are clearly not fit for a game that requires more than 30 iq and Im okay with you not logging in. Dont @ me. You get what you give.
