The drop rates definitely were higher when I last played a couple years ago and crafting was much better. Or I’ve just been insanely unlucky in this run. I cannot get anything to drop- no + skills items, crafting just takes the max negative roll every single time. I haven’t had a single proc of sigil of hope when attempting to craft, despite it’s stated 25% chance (ive used it at least a few hundred times no without success). It seems like everything has been nerfed across the board in terms of itemization.
The drop rates pre1.0 were equivalent to Rank 1 CoF.
The thing that makes MG drop rates so superior is that you will get drops that are viable for dozens of different builds and all of them will indirectly contribute to the build you are using for yourself.
This is certainly a “you/skill issue”. How tf are you still using a lvl4 amulet? That’s just complete bullshit LOL. This post shows that every new game that launches will attract dumbasses that gets mad about everything that gets in their way. Good luck in MG my guy, we’ll probably see a post of yours next week when you cry about selling your items lower than others because the market shifts every week. Keep crying.
Because I haven’t had a better one drop? I havent had an exalted increased healing effectiveness drop (of any kind), and I haven’t had any other jade amulets drop with the affixes I need- I’m even picking up the white amulets and trying to craft on them but the white items typically only have 15-20 FP and brick after a single craft attempt. The IAS from a jade amulet is worth more than any other affix except an exalted increased healing effectiveness, so I’m stuck with the one that dropped at level 4.
Currently the amulet is 10% IAS melee attack speed, 27% void damage (useless for me) 25% phys damage, 15% chance to ignite, 24% frailty (not particularly useful either but its better than resists or health given that I’m already resist capped and using ward).
Yes it matters. Because dead = no dps. Especially if you’re running with t2 jade amulet found at level 4. That’s on YOU. Find any decent jade amulet and craft on them. Just either slam ias or healing effectiveness at t5. That’s not hard. That’s you being picky and blaming the game for your incompetence. Is this your first foray into ARPGs?
I brick them after 2 crafts every time man, I’m not slamming t5 anything. I’ve tried over 100 amulets so far. -18 FP every. Single. Craft.
And no, I’ve been playing ARPGs since the original diablo.
No. You’re being dramatic. That’s numerically impossible. I can go on and find any random item and guarantee a t5 in 3 tries. Consistently. The numbers don’t bare out your “experience”.
I don’t know what to tell you man, that’s what happens. Brick after brick after brick.
And I’m telling you it’s highly likely you’re doing something off. There’s no way you’re consistently unlucky. Everything falls within the average after a certain number. You can’t be getting to 80+ without hitting t5. That’s really numerically impossible.
And yet here I am hundreds of crafts in and still using the stupid amulet I got at level 4, because every craft bricks after 1 or 2 tries. And like I said, I’ve still not had a single proc of glyph of hope in those attempts either.
That’s unfortunate, and considering your experience I think your opinion is valid. I know everyone has mentioned the loot filter, but I didn’t see anything concrete about it here so – did you by any chance include attack speed in your amulets filter? Because the filter allows you to select affixes that the item type cannot have, and while the jade amulet has it as an implicit, it cannot actual get it as an affix.
If that is not the case, what I would normally do is just filter for the base and make sure it’s a rare with at least 1 affix I want, then it’s just crafting from there. Things that can help include selecting the appropriate drop rate blessing from the respective nodes in the corrupted monos, like increased specific shard type rate and the one that increases amulet drop chance. For all my characters I typically have my entire set at T5 composed of all affixes I want by level 80, on base item types I prefer, though I’m not that particular with the accessories as I normally choose the ones that give defensive implicits. Beyond that it’s exalted hunting which is a loot treadmill.
I don’t have experience with the MG faction but that also sounds like a much better alternative altogether. Good luck dude.
Hold on, by level 80 you should have enough shards to basically build your target amulet from scratch. You could probably get a white or blue with one good affix jade amulet and just add everything you want. Are you using the rune of discovery, and not adding the exact affix you want?
Edit: the reason I ask is because there is one reddit post that is exactly that – was struggling with crafting because the OP thought you had to RNG roll all empty affixes using the rune of discovery, and wasn’t adding the exact affix needed.
Link your character. Lastepochtools has an import function. I’m really trying to help and not discount your experience. And I’m sure you’d rather have a fun time. And I’m like 99% sure there’s something off with either your loot filter or your judgment in choosing what is an upgrade or upgradable.
I can help you in detail once I get home tonight.
In addition to the amulet, the right ring is in pretty rough shape- originally I had an exalted crit avoidance ring there, but I had to drop it when I dropped CoF.
I cannot actually believe it needs to be said out loud that sitting on an amulet with Tier 2 affixes for 80 levels just to keep a 10% increased attack speed implicit is so far beyond absurd that it reads more like satire than something a real human being actually did.
This is a you issue. It has nothing to do with the game’s itemization. You are doing this absolutely, 100% wrong.
Ok what should I replace it with, because all my damage comes from proccing healing hands through rive, so I need IAS and increasing healing efficiency to increase my damage output. I havent gotten any decent healing effiency drops, and trying to craft it onto jade amulets has failed hundreds of times now after only 1-2 crafting attempts. Also keep in mind my health pool is coming from ward, which is generated through healing hands procs, which depend entirely on attack speed. So losing the IAS basically means losing hundreds of ward of effective HP.
I’m 100% certain a lot of people hear the word ‘itemization’ but don’t actually know what it means.
Ah man, its all to now about this post. 5 rank (and 6) its nothing. You haven’t started playing yet.
I managed to replace my amulet after being in the MG for 2 minutes with a near max IAS jade amulet with t5 affixes in every slot for 25k. It’s just unfair how much better MG is
You’re itemizing wrong. Wrong weapon. Dual wield works better for attack speed. You’d gain more attack speed doing that and replacing your amulet with pretty much anything. Change rive to vengeance. There’s 40% damage reduction right there. Take passive points in shield block out. Take points out of crit and crit multi in holy aura and put it in redemption, which gives you healing effectiveness. Some points can be optimized in sigil to remove cast time on sigil. Take points off blessed parish in healing hands and put it in turn undead and halted scourge. Divine bolt in passives does nothing for you, remove it. Blademaster in base tree gives shit tons of attack speed, assuming you have sword or axe.
You have so many problems with your build, items aren’t even the first thing you need help with. Everything you do that I recommend will at least double your survivability and damage. No item change. I can’t even begin to imagine playing your character. It wouldn’t be able to do empowered monos and I have questions on whether it could do the level 90 monos.
I highly recommend looking up mcfluffin gaming’s healing aura/vengeance video. It’ll guide you through fixing your passives and skill points.
