HA! I saw them in Denver, with Less Than Jake opening (King Rat was the other opener… they are a local Denver band) on the Process of Belief tour. So many little kids were flabbergasted that "these old guys were opening for LtJ… smh.

Fairly obscure ? Was it really ? It’s a bit crazy to reminisce those “half-locked away” memories. At our school (french-canadian for the background), when we were something like 12-13 years old, Bad religion, Offspring, Red hot, Sum41, Blink… they were all on the same level. They were all in the category of “Incomprehensible but very cool music”. Napster was that new cool thing that made “foreign music” way more accessible… but now I realize that it maked it all blurry, and less a specific experience for each new discovery. Like… now that I’m googling Bad religion, I see that it was banging in the 80’s and early 90’s ?! So, it’s not at all in the same blurb with sum41 (which was early 2000 pop-punk). I already sense that you’re cursing me on 99 generations for the blasphemy if Bad Religion is one of your favorite band 
… I think I need to see documentaries on punk and on 90’s music in general. As someone that studied sociologie for more than a decade, that’s baffling that I’ve never reflect on that part of my childhood experiences.

You didn’t think through that there are a significant number of people working from home and thus able to play at different hours than you. You also didn’t think through your insane statement about unemployed people. Just because you’re unemployed doesn’t mean you don’t have money. And it does absolutely not mean that you can’t afford a video game.
A rich person who has a ton of resources, probably 5-6 credit cards, and 5 yauhts wont care, as such is more willing to take risks.
A wealthy individual with 5-6 credit cards and 5 yachts is that rich because they don’t play video games.

You could work from home sure, does not mean you would be playing the game at 6 am right? Most people who work from home are still doing work 9-5 for day shift, or are working night. What we see with the graph is a spike at 6am which is unsual for working world, even if your working remote. What graph shows is some what inverse
Regarding unemployed people, unless they are on welfare, most unemployed people are struggling to survive, and pay for their bills, they may play or buy a game, but probably not enough to spike a game. Unemployment is around 10-30%, not 100% of unemployed people play LE. So again makes no sense.
Regarding students. They are at school at 6am-4pm for most part. They would not increase numbers of players eifher. Reason we see a spike is cause its bots.
You would be surprised how many rich people play video games, as its cheaper for them then to go clubbing. A lot of whales actually have said in interviews its why they rmt

Again, you have no clue what you’re talking about. Different countries treat unemployment differently and you can be unemployed for many different reasons. When I was unemployed 22 years ago, I played World of Warcraft, a subscription-based game, every day. It was stupid but I could do that and I could afford it. Other people might not because their situation is different.

That 6am spike is the start of the afternoon in Europe. So it makes sense, it’s when students usually have time to play, it’s when some people stop working, or people that are working remotely decide to take a break, like I sometimes do.
So there’s no conspiracy theory. Just people from other parts of the world (GASP, they do exist!!!) playing the game.

All I have to add to the discussion is that despite all their efforts to prevent RMT (most of which cause huge inconvenience for people playing with friends), EHG dropped the ball big time by making it SO EASY to transfer any amount of gold instantly between 2 complete stranger. Oops?
I don’t think MG was ever intended to prevent RMT. It was intended to prevent the toxic trade of PoE, that’s all. The fact that it mildly inconveniences RMT is a bonus.
You can’t ever prevent RMT. If you have some form of trade in-game, you will have RMT.
