Some people just want an excuse when the game doesnāt give them what they want right away. Who are you to take it from them? No kink shaming.
Oh my god, what a blast from the past! I completely forgot this song exists; weird to listen to it now that understand english. I was sooo young when I was listening that (and Offspring, Korn and Limp Bizkit). Thanks for the nostalgia fix!
But about the main topic, I must admit that Iām curious (and naive) :
How the heck RMT are possible in a steam paid game? If EHG is banning them fastā¦ are they buying each time a new account ? And then farm ingame whatever they selling, with a chance of being banned again ? I know there is big money involved, and many big multiplayer games struggle with RMT, but it sounds like a terrible business model.
How is it possible ?
Last Epoch valleys and peaks (75% difference) are the same as Elden Ring (77% difference)
Lost Ark (a moderately botted game) has a (45% difference)
Mir4 (a heavily botted game) has an (8% difference) in peaks and valleys.
As long as each trade profits them more than the box price, they can keep doing it infinitely. Of course, after creating a new account they need their bots to farm again, but itās doable.
RMT companies often use stolen credit cards and/or abuse chargebacks too.
That too.
EDIT: Although, if theyāre spending 35 bucks, they do have to make a profit, otherwise youād be better off just taking the 35 bucks to start with.
What would even be the point of botting?
You easily get enough guild to buy stash tabs, shatter runes and respec.
At most you could buy a item in the merchants guild? Who would buy gold just to buy equipment?
Servers are running fine outside of the common areas. The lag is in the common areas and needs to be addressed. Everywhere else itās perfectly normal. No idea why you bot in this game to begin with since gold is easy to make and buy it would be pointless.
I mean, we can agree that botting and buying gold is pointless until weāre blue in the face, but that doesnāt address the actual issue of there being bots and/or gold sellers in the game. Us thinking it is silly to exist doesnāt negate that existence.
I have no idea if they are are prevalent as some in this thread claim, but you can clearly see they do exist in global chats, and they seem to think there is enough of a market to justify paying box price for the game to advertise their services.
Personally, I wouldnāt even care if it didnāt impact other peoplesā experience. People can spend their money on whatever dumb crap they want, I just donāt want chat inundated with spam when I try to use it, and I assume Merchant Guild players donāt want RMT causing excessive inflation that pushes out buyers who earn their gold fairly.
How could you forget? Recipe for Hate is their 2nd best album (behind Suffer). Nice to see someone recognize a fairly obscure music reference, however. Cheers!
About this thread its very interesting to see so many view points and all of them have value.
However, I agree with the first sentence. The servers are poor at peak hours, the game is running on wheelchair and has a lot of issues. (Basically Early Access but now released)
Bots on the other side one can wonder why anybody would run that in such a niche market, on such an unoptimized game. There is a simple answer, because its new to the people that just started playing, and naturally some will benefit and abuse a new multiplayer game.
That all said there arenāt that many bots, and the cause of the outrage and people leaving the game and numbers becoming smaller is never gonna be a bot problem, ever.
Its such a poor thing to blame bots taking over the game, when the game was barely running in the first place. Its rare to see such a poor launch and so little care put into the bugs/fixes and overall debugging I just cant blame bots for anything, lol.
Ever heard of insomnia?
Chat spam is definitely the absolute worst part of bots.
I couldnāt give 2 sh*ts if they farm gold or sell it or whatever.
But putting up with constant spam would just make me give up on online play and switch to offline, or at the very least just turn off chat. (assuming thats possible, Iāve never checked)
Being offline mode still puts you in the same public chats.
You can disable public chat (I frequently do) in the chat options. Unfortunately, you have to re-disable it every login because it turns itself back on each session. Also you canāt leave specific channels; either youāre in all public chats or none.
Well that stinks.
What if you go offline with steam, can you still load last epoch and play offline?
I would like toā¦ well, not disagree, since musical tastes are always subjectiveā¦ but rather give you my own opinion. Yes, Suffer is their best album, but I prefer Generator and No Control to Recipe for Hate. Though, Iāll admit, not by much.
And Bad Religion is hardly an obscure reference. Last time I saw them live was just before the pandemic and there were a lot of people there, from all generations.
There are 2 offline modes in LE: one where you start the game normally and select offline rather than online. And thereās one where you select fully offline from steam launch. That one has chat, but no messages, because there is no server connection.
Good to know!
Iāve only tried the other offline mode, I guess, when there were the launch server issues.
Yeah, Iād like to think they were more popular, but they are hardly a headliner anymore these days. Yes, their shows are always packed, but thatās not hard when youāre playing the local beer house theater in the art district. They arenāt packing stadiums. Also, most people would only recognize 21st Century Digital Boy if they heard their entire catalog, and it would be followed by a āOMG, they did that song?!?!?! gaspā.
I love them, Iāve seen them 27 times, and are easily my favorite band. And yes, Generator and No Control are also great albums ā along with Against the Grain, and itās just a matter of personal choice. You can always tell an old school fan, from a newer one, because newer fans usually pick Stranger Than Fiction or Grey Race as their best albums. Although I will say that STF, Grey Race and Process of Belief are their better, musically (and production-wise), the pre-Generator offerings are just better punk albums.
Well, over here they did a show for about 1500-2000 people, so not too shabby. They were the headliners and Less Than Jake and Mad Cabbies were the opening acts. It was pretty fun and a trip down memory lane.
