Bots have completely taken over this game

Welcome to the world of conspiracy theories. Is this your first time on the internet?

yes .

Iā€™m assuming you mean 12 noon and yeah Iā€™m at work but many people work 2nd and 3rd shift (including me last year), you can bet on it that theyā€™ll be playing at noon. Not everyone is 1st shift. And if you mean playing after midnight, thatā€™s even worse, cause most gamers do play in the 8pm to 2am range nowadays.

I think you are trying to correlate ups and down, which if a game is heavily botted, the average players will look like a flatline throughout the day instead of having clearly defined ups and down.

Letā€™s take a control, Counter-strike 2ā€¦
1.4million peak with 700k valley (Difference of +100% players at peak) (non-botted)
Now take Last Epoch
140k peak with 80k valley (Difference of +75% players at peak) (very lightly botted)
Now take Lost Ark
47k peak with 30k valley (Difference of +56% players at peak) (moderately botted)
Now take Mir4
26.8k peak with 24.8k valley (Difference of +8% players at peak) (001010101010001010)

Just wanted to put in perspective.

And in fact, if you check out Google trends (which Iā€™m not saying is foolproof but isnā€™t a bad starting point) it looks like the EU is a lot more engaged with Last Epoch than the US is.

Looking at the graph the peaks and valleys look like normal flow for real players from what Iā€™ve seen in the past. Are there some bots? Iā€™m sure there are some, but the vast majority of the number you see is real players.

Its weird if there are bots, since gold has no value in Last Epoch.

ā€¦and people who work from home
ā€¦and streamers
ā€¦and students
ā€¦and unemployed people

And employed people from other time zones, and streamers from other time zones, and students from other time zones, etc etc.

If you use the compare feature and compare with Elden Ring, you will see that the fluctuations are exactly the same, and Elden Ring certainly doesnā€™t have a bot issue.

Elden Ring 45k valley 80k peak (+77% players)
Last Epoch 140k peak with 80k valley (Difference of +75% players at peak)
basically the sameā€¦

Mir4 26.8k peak with 24.8k valley (Difference of +8% players at peak)

What you actually see with heavily botted games.

As a player in the US, I cannot confirm or deny the existence of any gamers outside the country or make evaluations based on the knowledge that they, allegedly, exist.

Which state is that? Iā€™m not familar with it.

Apart from buying stuff, yes.

Of course not, thatā€™d presupose that there actually are other countries. When it is clearly obvious that Adam and Eve were born in the US.

Those are ā€œnot yet conqueredā€ territories.

I thought they were ā€œhere be dragonsā€ & an amorphous blob on the map? Or just straight up made up like Antarctica & Belgium.

Itā€™s been weird, but last evening was particularly bad to the point where actually having a normal conversation in a global chat wasnā€™t possible because it was so disrupted by multiple goldsellers, each spamming 4-5 lines of text in succession.

Prior to that, I think Iā€™d seen, like, one.

I was initially confused by them myself, but Iā€™m CoF faction, and other than tossing a small amount of gold to shattering runes and spec adjustments, thereā€™s nothing I could ever spend all my gold on. I kinda forgot that the Merchantā€™s Guild was a thing, and those players are almost certainly the ones they are trying to get business from.

Been playing with the chat turned off (thanks for that option!), SSF as I like (thanks for CoF!). No problems noticed on my end. :ok_hand:

Op is right tho. If there were small amount of bots you would have more pronounced ups and downs, like CS Counter-Strike 2 - Steam Charts

As you can see in the LE steam chart, 2 days ago the ups and down gap decreased which indicates that a significant portion of players are bots who never go to sleep/log out.

So youā€™re saying there was literally nobody ever playing the same moment every day and suddenly 90k bots?

Yet the peak went (expectedly after launch) down 15k instead of up for 90k, so by your logic, we went from 156k CCU at peak to 90k bots and 50k players, 2/3 players just all decided to stop play all the same day the bots started.

Such sound logic, how could anyone ever argue it would be just a 3rd party site not tracking data correctly?

Please donā€™t discount the effort if took us to coordinate things, so every Last Epoch player only plays within a short 6 hour window. Getting the contact information for over 1 million accounts was a challenge!

Sounds more like someone looking at data with confirmation bias lenses, and seeing bots where they want to see bots.

You do realize that countries outside of the USA exist right? But great work detective.
