When did i trashwalking devs? i just said, that when you spend money on something you expect some value back, nothing unreasonable I think.
While I realize that they are a new COMPANY at this, perhaps not new people to this kind of work, they would have had a plan in place for the full release of the game. Especially knowing they’ve hit the 1 million sales mark. You would have a 24 and 72 hour plan in place for rotating your staff and handling the coverage from that point. Most likely have a longer term plan as well going out for a week or two. This is to be expected in many industries, and comp time will come later on when things slow down. I stood several 24+ hour watches in the nuclear navy where I could not leave my post to eat, drink, or pee because I was not relieved while the evolution was underway and we were stuck to our job till it completed. And we were paid less than minimum wage for that.
I don’t think anyone means to trash talk the devs. They have done an amazing job developing this game. No doubt about that.
But what people are doing is expressing their dissatisfaction that the live service game they bought is not delivering on what is advertised and promised.
While encountering some bugs at launch is understandable, persistent issues or a lack of communication from developers can be rightfully criticized. The goal isn’t to “whine” but to encourage developers to strive for smoother launches and prioritize fixing critical issues that significantly impact the player experience.
I can imagine the frustration of encountering problems with a game you were excited about. Hopefully, the developers will address these issues promptly and effectively.
I never said how much I make, I just said it was my last money for the month. What does my income have to do with having decent expectation for a game?
well, good for you, the game is working now, were there any reasons to whine in the end?
if you call this working, i fking hope you dont work in any sort of service industry or production industry
Just to clarify. I don’t blame the devs. I blame the executives that makes the decisions. Somewhere they’ve decided to save money and hold back on the infrastructure instead of beefing up for the launch.
I only have one question, during the last couple of months, wasnt there one person in the dev team that thought: “A real stress test might be good idea. Cause we sold A LOT copies. Im a gamer myself and I dont want to disappoint that gamer, because we haven`t tested it the way we could have” ?
Honestly, i like this game a lot. It feels great and is very enjoyable. Till the point where i have to change areas and have to wait and wait and click again and wait and wait.
oh yeah and thanks for the gift we all recieve, it is nothing you have to do, i apptciate it. But it kinda feels like “oh, the shit is hitting the fan. Here take this to cover yourself, it might take a bit longer.”
Take it as a rant or feedback or the way you see it. Im just disapointed in whoever is responsible for this problem and even more in myself, cause i had the expectation to be able to play a smooth game with my friends.
sidenote:
Shoutout to all the players offering TPs yesterday. I ran across 3 dudes doing nothing else then inviting people to party, to allow them to tp to the area they are in. You are the real heros of realease day
Has this release been any less successful than any of those from big name developers such as Blizzard or Bethesda?
Have they really displayed a persistent lack of communication to the consumers? Hell this very thread where they were giving timestamps on what they were working with in the first day of release, I’ve not seen that from Blizzard ever. EVERY Blizzard release has been a complete and total sh!Tsh0w and they’ve been at it for some 30 years and have more money than most countries at their disposal.
EU_Server Down? 5min loading screens, game crashed
This statement is bull. They are the ones that set the high expectation. they talked about having all this extra baremetal, they said they had clouds, they said they used 3rd party consultants for preperation, they said they were well prepared and this would not be a terrible launch as long as nothing crazy happened. 150k out of your 1 million customers logging on at once should not be “something crazy” especially when it was expected and was obviously apparent they would have this kind of traction. They had years of testing and a die hard fan base that would of beta tested 1.0 a weekend before for stress test easily. Stop making excuses for other peoples failures and let them take responsibility instead of making the people who took them at their word feel like they’re being unreasonable.
Yeap, here we go again.
What executives exactly? This started as a group of game players who were passionate about ARPGs back in 2017. There was ZERO money to start their project and they resorted to Kickstarter, as many do. This isn’t Bobby Kotick and Activision we’re talking about here.
first round of w(h)ines on me we just conversation. Have fun
“We’ll be keeping a stream of communication so you guys know the status.”
yeah about that stream of communication?
You know the “small indie studio” meme that gets thrown around at Blizzard when they fuck up a launch? Well it actually applies here.
Have some patience, play something else for a while.
Failed matchmaking again…
doesnt apply anymore, theyre a decently sized company at this point, not a “small indie game studio” a large game studio isnt 2000+ employees, unless you have delusional standards
GGG had little to NO problems with their last 8 league Launches.
WHY NOT LEARN from them, why not asking how they handle the immediate workload?
is it so hard to take precaution and meassurements? You knew this was going to happen and even 1 Day after launch you Still have server issues. This is straight up disappointing.
get a grip!
Funny thing you described exactly what whatever big gaming companies do but don’t disclose publicly when launching new online service games.
Props up to EHG for being such open to the community.
