well said mate. I personally find the fits funny. It just shows how in this day and age, not getting something you want, immediately, is supposedly the end of the world (or a game developer). Everyone is very vocal about the things that haven’t gone right, but I expect few comments from these same people to give props to the developers for what has been done right.
Those of us that have been around for a while know you guys are doing your absolute best to get this fixed. People need to learn patience. I’ve had a generally positive experience in this community and the amount of toxicity I’ve noticed about launch is pretty alarming. Chill out and go touch grass folks, they will fix it.
Yeah cause its so much of an expectation that the release is better than D4’s release - It’s defeating to have to play offline - many people play RPG’s purely for progression and if you’re only going back to redo what you already did sure its something and for some people that’s basically a fix, but what exactly was the expectation of their own launch w/ how many Streamers were hyping it up?
Now most people will put up with a queue as long as the game works once inside, but getting in and you cant even zone to the next area - You’re bleeding customers which sucks because I feel like this game has a lot of potential
tell me you don’t use your brain without telling me you don’t use your brain. keep complaining and stay salty lol
I don’t think people realise how expensive large scale servers are, and estimating it with accuracy, without overshooting it and wasting money is a big deal
people who actually play games at launch know this isn’t even that bad. Imagine if the game didn’t ship with offline mode. It’s times like these when you realize that the fanbro toxicity of D4 and the elitist toxicity of PoE is nothing compared to the semi-casual toxicity of the middle class. Oh boo hoo you took time off work to play at launch. What are you, new?
The funny thing is the majority of the complainers are people that never even bothered playing this game once during all of it’s development. Oh no–you have to wait a few hours after the rest of us waited almost five years! The horror! Booohoooooz.
But it is turning into “life didn’t go my way”, because people are making matter of fact statements without knowing what the problem is. It’s great to hold them accountable, what doesn’t help is holding them accountable for things you aren’t even sure of yet. If people want to make claims with no proof that’s fine, but don’t be surprised when people call you out on it. Like you said, what is the answer? When we get one, then go full send on the criticism so its at least accurate.
Those who write, do it better instead of the devs: Don’t let this be my job, damn it. I also have a job, and if I don’t do my job for my salary, I get fired. They put away serious money and here we are. Don’t let the plaster knock down the mason…
I am here just for the Karens, NGL makes my life look perfect in comparison XD
Wie soll das mit nur einem EU Server funktionieren ? Das ist einfach zu wenig bei so viel Andrang hier.
Why bother? You wouldn’t understand anyway. The technology easily exists. EHG probably just don’t have the money to buy them.
But it DOES exist.
Also, check my post history. I haven’t complained once. I think you’re just trying to feed the fire, which makes you a troll.
No, we didn’t all expect this. It’s unplayable when we were told it would be playable. That’s not expected or ok.
Useless, because offline characters can’t play online. So when (better say if) they finally repair this game you’ll have to start again.
Guys, ultimately the problem is you.
If you all just log out and go do something else, I’m sure I can easily be playing right now.
(Obv sarcasm for the uninitiated into humor)
Online play was already kinda janky throughout the Early Access so makes sense it explodes on Launch day. Hopefully it’ll be playable at least by the weekend
But i don’t want to play offline
What are you even saying. Yes we have the technology to host clusters of servers capable of holding 300k concurrent players. How else do you think super popular, global mmos like FFXIV and WoW exist?
EHG was simply poorly prepared and underestimated how many people were waiting to play on launch due to either greed or negligence. I understanding wanting to defend the devs because they have done a great job with this game through the alphas and betas, but a mess-up is a mess-up lets not blame our current technology on it.
It always makes me laugh when people say, “I’d like to see you try to do this in ‘x’ field.” Well, this is their job, their career, and most likely their passion. Meaning that if I had spent all of my time specifically tailoring my skills in network coding, game design, or pre-launch day testing…then yea, I’d be good at it. The statement people make where they ask if you could do better, is useless. What would happen at your job if you messed up your big project in the public eye? You’d most likely lose your job or the opportunity for advancement.
But they don’t have to estimate. This isn’t a free to play game. They know how many copies they sold.
