There are like… 3 new episodes of love is blind out. So yall got like 3 hours.
truth finally revealed at 1:27. looks like ill give up on playing this one today since nothing meaningful is coming from the communications. e.g. expectation? anything really.
Is it obvious though? I’ve been in the understanding that many companies use third party servers and not have servers at the company locations. In which case they just negotiate for more resources for the server. And if the devs do have own servers at their locations then I can understand that buying more hardware for release is just not an option. But if they use third party service they could just negotiate more capacity for release.
100% We will be able to play tomorrow . Untill then , I will go offline xD
waiting for servers is still more fun than playing d4
no they wont
They rushed this game out for revenue.
No.
Off chars will always be off chars
no, they are different for offline and online
Nobody should care about company server and stuff since it was pre-paid already rofl, just face reality. You are buing a product and not excuses or off-line workarounds for ONLINE game omg
This was posted by EHG like two days ago:
"We’ve scale tested for months with third parties, consultants, the help of infra providers, and our own backend team. We have the ability to scale servers quickly, have reserved a large amount of bare metal machines, and do not have a maximum spend for cloud overflow- it’s all elastic. From the extensive testing we’ve done, unless we do have a really crazy turnout, we should be stable. It’s not lost on us that many much larger companies than us have had issues at launch though… We’re optimistic and if there are issues it certainly won’t be for lack of effort, spend, or ignorance to the importance of launch day.
If we do have issues I promise that we’ll stay very communicative and you can be 100% certain we’ll be all hands on deck working to resolve anything that comes up. We understand what’s on the line.
I will say that this is probably the most stressing thing to the team as we’ve seen games be review bombed and eviscerated when there are launch issues. I remember being frustrated when games I was excited for had launch issues in the past, but now being on the other side of it I’ve seen how much of an emotional toll it can take on a team to face hatred for something that they have tried hard to prepare for but it not be received/gone well despite best efforts. Just in general I think it’s a good thing for the gaming community to understand the impact those types of things have on development teams. That’s not me asking for leniency for our team, just rather an insight I feel worth sharing for gamers in general.
Another thing I’ll share because it’s interesting and something I didn’t understand before being in game development (before LE) - it’s nearly never the game servers that have issues at launch as those are easy to scale as long as you have the funds and willingness to pay the server providers (typically Google or Amazon), it’s more often an issue with services like login/authentication/database rate limiting. We use Steam and other services that are battle tested at scale for these things.
But, in summary, we’ve prepared heavily and have every reason to suspect we’ll be in good shape come launch day. If there are issues we’ll be communicative and working to address anything that comes up immediately.
Thanks all, sorry for the long post here"
So yeah its not like the devs are being lazy. Every launch has issues when you have hundreds of thousands of people trying to play at the same time. They know what the problems are more than the unemployed networking experts in this thread AND theyre communicating regularly, which is more than most developers do with these issues
how to kill your game launch 101
“We’ve scale tested for months with third parties, consultants, the help of infra providers, and our own backend team.”
good job
You should read the whole post.
This forum is hilarious.
There will always be complaints surrounding launches. Before it was: “Oh no, I can’t play your game!” (full online service games). Now a game has finally been developed where you actually get to play the game, albeit not in the exact mode you might wish and it’s turned into “Oh no, I can’t play your game in a specific mode I should be having access to!”
What is communication here from devs? Are you kidding? No ETA no expectations set. Some people keep grinding items even if it is single boss location for uniqs… Shuw down server untill you fix this to provide equality. Nonsense
War room gotta be lookin like ground control for Apollo, keep at it fellas!
Thanks for the constant updates!
And that is the issue. We have been on launch before. And every time it is the same. I’m fed up with the idea that this should be OK. As I mentitioned before on another comment many games are not fully developed for release and are completed with patches along the way. That’s just the norm these days. We as gamers are being ignored and we are expected to just take whatever we get and be happy with it. Hell no! Companies should have some standards and have some respect for their customers!
When can we log in and play ??!
Get outta here
