It’s launch day. Nothing stress tests a system like 200k+ people trying to log into it. Untwist your proverbial panties. They’ll get it fixed.

then as a developer, you should also know that these servers are yearly contracts with insane amounts of money tied into them, which to a lot indie companies is unattainable, regardless of how many millions you think they raked in.
You’d also know that the majority of your sales are done by doorkickers within 24 hours of release, so you literally go into launches blind, because you cannot see who has it on wish list or in saved cart.
Also, load balancing and server issues usually have more to do with the pipeline being congested. If 150k people are trying to log in, there are a lot of switches in between that can’t handle that amount of data before it even gets to the servers to balance, so at that point a queue system is falliable as well.

I dont think he is right at all.
yeah… when i bought my truck and it didnt start… I just gave ford a pat on the back… Nah man… these are not new and fixable issues… Its about “money-saving” and not anticipating after bragging about 1 mil copies being sold.

GGG was a crapshow back in the day. IDK where you get your information, but when GGG released POE there was an absolute asinine amount of downtime, not including the server crashes, extreme latency and a sometimes 20k+ queue that took 10+ hours to sort through. from 1.0 until sacrifice of Vaal, the game was a mess.

This is why you take work off the day after major releases. Although I really hoped they weren’t going to be underscaled given how much marketing I’ve seen.

2.5 hours after release still cant in, watching streams of people online getting miles ahead of the plebs. Looks like I will be asking steam for a refund.
