I have yet to use mine and of course it’s RNG but I’m curious on the rarity of the items people have received and how much LP they had, if any.
I want to say that the chances are the same as normal world drops with regards to item rarity and LP.

Ye they are kinda common drop-wise, but I screwed up one late night and used the only super rare duplicating rune I’ve ever gotten to drop in this game unintentionally clicking it while thinking I was trying to reroll implicits on an unfinished shield I was crafting on, and ended up duplicating it with a total of 19 tiers on it LMAO. Well, that kinda sucked and maybe it would be nice to have a confirmation before using such rare things like that, but ye, hope you can stick around long enough to use it on a gg well-rolled Exalted item that you could then either use in a dual-wielding set-up or on 2 ring slots until you can farm up some LP4 Uniques to merge them after killing Julra in the new dungeon using the Eternity Cache.
That is painful, I only have two I think and there is nothing I want to use it on, not unless I get godlike items. I haven’t used ascendance or creation yet but using the despair glyphs even I make sure to be extra careful since I have so much less than everything else, hurts my heart to use them. My snowflake heart won’t be able to deal with starting over on MP.
I know that this is going to trigger a lot of players.
The best Unique I got from using a Rune of Ascendance is, Bastion of Honour.

I farmed the shield monos (Black Sun) for hundreds of times… Think I finally got a BoH after about 400 runs at around 200 corruption.
Then yesterday I was just chilling doing the Spirits of Fire for a better blessing and an 1LP Bastion dropped unexpectedly…

I have tried to get an Omnividence for long, farming the Stolen Lance. Then it dropped in a random echo in another timeline. No LP though.
This is a rare item? Not familiar with it since it wasn’t around before I came back. It was a random world drop not long after I started playing again.
Its stats basically give you 100% block & additional damage reduction from all nearby enemies… Paired with a high block effectiveness it is virtually unbeatable and arguably the best shield in the game for any build that uses one…
Has to be rare else its likely to be nerfed… (hope not).

I see, I’ve rarely bothered to read all the additional uniques as I checked out the new builds, I was at first then I just started to skim them
Im gonna bite down my tongue here and conclude after burning through 100s of Rune of Ascendence, it probably give less chance for the Unique to roll LP at all or high LP (3,4)
I might also just be superstitious because i believe item rarity in mono helps with LP range value for high level uniques and since it cannot apply anywhere outside mono, thats why Rune of Ascendence is probably the last thing i wanna use to get LP uniques.
Its not a decent enough sample (or as high as your guess), but I blew through 10 Runes of Ascendence as a test yesterday - whats the point of keeping them really?

I think that honestly out of all the Runes I have used, I have gotten maybe 1 x 1LP from a low level Unique when using Rune of Ascendence. Based on this, I think that the Rune is intended as a mid level item that newer players can use to get a basic Unique as a reward… I dont think its intended for us diehards that have stashes of them and just want LP…
Sadly, bastion is so good, it disrupts the entire game. I hope it gets nerfed a tiny bit. Nerf are very inpopular, and I personally hate them, but I can’t see any build with a shield, and this shield not being a Bastion.

Trasochi on discord confirmed a while ago that RoA uses Area Lvl 100 + a formula to slightly reduce the chance of getting LP, compared to a random drop at Area Lvl 100.
We don’t know the exact number or formula and probably will never.
But generally speaking if the chance for a particular unique to get LP is high or low to begin with RoA uses the same chances, just at a slight reduced rate.
So getting a Close Call with LP is way more like to get a BoH with LP, like how it is with random drops

BoH is very strong, especially for Masteries that can’t invest into Block.
Even for Masteries that can invest into block it’s superior for nearby enemies.
But for enemies that are not nearby a well crafted rare or exalted shield is superior for non-nearby enemies and just slightly worse for nearby enemies, if you invested into block.
So BoH is not strictly superior, just conditionally.
I think it’s not as bad as people portray it.
What I think would be a good nerf, would be a change to BoH’s base type, with less block chance and block effectiveness.
Especially the block effectiveness would want builds using it still want to invest into block affixes on gloves and rings.
While the reduced block chance would make the gap between non-nearby enemies for rare and exalted Shields even bigger.

I can’t say I blame you, it does seem like a pain. What’s your twitch, I don’t really use it but I don’t mind tossing it on the TV in the background since I always have a show or podcast running while I mindlessly do runs.
edit: worst case there’s always a written guide, not sure how you feel about that but I personally love reading. You could always find out how popular that would be or how receptive players are to that.
