I hope to see MTX on shape-shifters (bears, liches, etc.).

Which items do you feel offer the best value or appeal, and why?
Weapon, Armor Skins and effects MTX are the best. The main reason is because pets are cool BUT still something not noticeable while playing, you can only pay attention to your pets when you’re in a safe zone. Also Skills MTX are cool BUT when you are using damage conversions the MTX do not change colour, which is a good and bad side, i can equip a constant theme, if i have enough MTX of that theme, but most of time i want to have a appearance that combines with my damage, like the new Lich MTX, which is really good BUT is sad to use while i have a bleed lich with a bleed “poison” aura. -
Are there specific themes, styles, or item types you’d like to see more of? Less of?
Something like the primitive destroyer, something dark with a lot of sparks and bright effects with dark colors to make a good contrast. -
Are there any items you’ve avoided purchasing, and what influenced that decision?
Skills MTX, like i said above, when i’m using a ability that changes it’s appearance because of a damage conversion it kinda stops me from using a MTX for that skill because the MTX wont change colour and effects to combine with the new damage type.
Personally, I think that one of the most successful MTXs there are in PoE, which has a similar vibe to your MTXs are herald MTXs. If you can manage to get a ‘on-kill’ MTX, like the enemy exploding into void volcanoes, or maybe a lightning smite beam showing up, and being chunky and having a weighty feel to the sound of the animation, but without compromising framerate, you’d have a recipe for success.
Also pricing, while I understand it’s necessary for big bundles to be pricy, getting some lower cost MTX would be nice. Besides that, weapon effects that change or give glows to the weapons, or even an aura effect.
My only real criticism is that portal MTXs feel very clunky. They either take too long to appear or they appear instantly and feel unnatural. There’s no rythym to them, in a way.
Besides all of that, just more Skill MTX, Pets MTX (and that includes minions), and being able to customize or have hideout, so you have yet another avenue of revenue, and players get even more customization.
Honestly I like most of the cosmetics, and I feel lile the different supporter packs are good value. The only feedback I have is I’d like to see more variety in armor types. I feel like 95% of the armor MTX is some form of plate. I’d really like to see some sets that feel more rogueish, with leather instead.
Look at your competition and stop with this weird color blandness that you guys have on the large majority of your shop items. They’re simply not visually attracting and the white knights that claim that they are here are lying through their teeth. There’s a reason why the mtx hasn’t been selling at all.
You guys also haven’t been thematically following through with a lot of the items and on top of that it’s a weird amalgamation of mix and match outside of buying a supporter pack, which is even worse. It makes 0 sense to buy any MTX when a supporter pack has ones for cheaper/better looking and the ones for MTX look like absolute dog comparatively
Personally I like grounded and class-thematic cosmetics. I want to feel like my character is grounded in the world, not a weird flashy god from another dimension. Flashy over-the-top and cartoony sets are an instant no for me. PoE1 does this as well (flashy crazy but not cartoony), but honestly they just look cooler and more serious (although I still don’t like or buy them).
Edit: Cosmetics can be a way to expand on your lore and art direction, instead of betraying it. You could create armour sets based on cultures, people of legend, and time periods in the game.
I see cosmetics as a way to thank the devs for a good content update and nothing else.
In that context, I have only bought some during the Woven cycle.
Recently I looked into the supporter packs again as I felt that, despite the Ancient Skies being quite poor in terms of content, I could spend something extra as the Woven one was quite excellent.
Unfortunately, when checking the supporter packs, none really appealed as they all seemed to focus on items and pets.
Why would I want to see the same skin for the whole time I play a character in a game like an aRPG in which getting new items is part of the dopamine hit?
I’d greatly appreciate it if you focused more on spell alternative effects, for example, while still keeping in mind visual clarity and properly themed for the game.
Having a meteor come down with an enhanced visual effect, or having “blue flames” for example would be something I consider. Same for other spell/skills.
Edit: I forgot. Do not forget the MICRO in microtransaction. If I have to pay £10 for a spell effect you can be sure it’ll stay on the shelf for me.
Alternate skill effects.
Armor skins are almost way too flashy and over the top for me, I’d much rather pay $10 to turn my acid flask into a bomb or something.
Which items offer the best value and why?
Those which have a high quality overall and are actually visible.
Hence items for the back-slot, pets and armors.
Also skill effects are a big one and far too few available overall.
Also especially those which aren’t just simply existing but have actual interactions in the environment of some kind.
Are there any items I've avoided and why?
Footprint effects… they’re really awful. Followed by portals surprisingly. I’m a huge fan of portal MTX in PoE but in LE they’re rather useless.
Also I’ve avoided the weapon skins since they’re barely visible.
General feedback?
Proper themes. If there is a theme available then it needs to provide a ‘full range’.
Currently quite a lot of options are standalone and fit with nothing else. Individually good looking and enticing but made into sub-par results by lacking cohesion.
That’s the biggest gripe.
The second one is that supporter packs don’t return the full range of value in points.
Reducing the actual MTX which are limited (and providing hence more into the store for overall access) while retaining full value in terms of points is simply a better deal.
If I only want a single item from the 30€ pack then that basically means that item costs 15€ for me… which is just not a sensible price-range. I know MTX are high-priced in general as they need to sustain the product… but it gets kinda laughable when I can buy a full good small-scale game for the price of a single reskin.
I want to answer each question in turn
- Which items do you feel offer the best value or appeal, and why?
Armor often is the go to cosmetic for me. It is the cosmetic that makes the most impact on the character.
- Are there specific themes, styles, or item types you’d like to see more of? Less of?
anything that resonates thematically with the skills and abilities of the character I am playing. for example when playing a falconer I would like to have an avian themed set of armor.
- Are there any items you’ve avoided purchasing, and what influenced that decision?
Most cosmetics I have avoided purchasing because of the lack of content to go with them. Cosmetics in my mind are kind of like a garnish. If the meal is sparse a garnish has no value and feels like a waste of money. Right now LE suffers from a massive dearth of content regarding skills and abilities.
I have purchased several thousand dollars worth of PoE supporter packs because they have several hundred skills and combinations. If I choose to play a Fire or Cold based character they have different thematic armors which complement that playstyle. LE right now does not have enough variety in the builds and ideas to warrant garnishing my character with cosmetics. When that changes so will my purchasing.
Good news is you all seem interested in more abilities and skill trees, so I look forward to the new stuff. I persoanlly believe that when you introduce new and exciting ways to play the same game, it becomes a different game thus you have introduced new content.
I’d like to see more traditional fantasy cosmetics. For example, can I look like a D2 paladin, in silver plate mail and a silver kite shield?
The current art direction with cosmetics is too… gaudy is a kind way to put it.
Too many glowy effects, too many bells and whistles and all those small bits sticking out around the edges that makes them look too busy.
The BronzeScale set from the Woven Templar is a good example. Those shoulders and all the glowy bits attached did not need to be there.
I want my character to look like they are wearing bronze heavy plate with some dragon motifs. This just makes me look like I’m a cartoon character with how over the top the shoulders and helmet are.
Too many glowy, “theme defining” effects also makes it extremely hard to mix and match with other cosmetic sets, which is like half the reason I would buy cosmetics.
I prefer the more grounded looks that your base armor models have over these options. I would literally consider buying it if you guys sold the base armor models as cosmetics I can use to override the look of other pieces.
Please add druid skins to the shop instead of a locus would love to be a wearwolf and different colors for the bear forms with maybe more spikes on them
I think the best and most appealing to me are skills MTX,
I really would like more armour set cosmectic that are less “plated armour-ish” like rouge/alcolyte and mage doesnt really fit most of the cosmectic amour aesthetic currently
How about a system for comunity createt cosmetics like in warframe. Players can vote for a skin that will be featured in the shop and the creators get a cut. Of course, it must also fit the art style of the game and must not contain anything offensive or obscene or be stolen from other games.
I just want some skill effects that make it feel powerful or silly, basically big changes in visuals, not simple recolors. Many skills have no MTX or just color changes.
I tend to just like to buy the pets but there is not much reason to get many.
In PoE I buy tons of pets and then let them loose in my hideout.
Maybe we could get something to let me fill up the echo safezone with my extra pets.
I want my friend to join me and be like “dude, that is way too many pets”

More of? Cold/icy/freezing themed helm-chest-boots-gloves
- More items are needed overall.
- Pets, portals, traversal abilities, and cool armor. The weapon skins don’t appeal much to me.
- More sales on old items to keep them moving in the shop.
- More types of skins for other things in the game, maybe monetize mouse cursor skins, etc.
