As we continue to expand our cosmetic offerings, we want to make sure the items we create feel meaningful, fair, and exciting for our players. Your feedback plays a huge role in shaping what we build next: themes, presentation, perceived value, and more.
We’d love to hear your thoughts about this! When sharing feedback, please include answers to these questions:
Which items do you feel offer the best value or appeal, and why?
Are there specific themes, styles, or item types you’d like to see more of? Less of?
Are there any items you’ve avoided purchasing, and what influenced that decision?
Your feedback contributions help us ensure that our cosmetics not only look great, but also respect your time and investment. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts! We’re listening and genuinely appreciate your feedback as we continue to create a great experience for you. We’ll have this thread open for your input until October 27.
Great to see you coming with something like this Derrick! Seeking feedback on what we have available is a great thing to allow us to feel like we are being heard.
I’ll start by saying:
Themes are a difficult thing right now as we can equip a thematic set and find that it’s not complete. We need to see something for every slot for each theme. If it’s void, then we need something void for every slot (all armor pieces, all weapon types, pets, etc.).
There should be a complete set for every theme imaginable in LE for all skill and item effects. This would include Void, Fire, Cold, Electricity, Poison, Necrotic, etc.
That has been my major pain with cosmetics so far. Some people think the cosmetics are “horrible” or something to that effect. Personally, I think they are fine (could be better in at least some cases).
Maybe my mind will recall other things to comment on but these were the biggest issue I’ve had so far.
Personally, I only care about pets and portals. I never pay much attention to the “square” that is the character, but pets and portals are more visible to me.
I wish we had something like in PoE where we could randomize the portals and also something like the hideout where all the pets that aren’t with you can just roam freely.
My favorite cosmetics are ability cosmetics. I’m more likely to purchase those.
I’m not really keen on armor or weapon cosmetics because I don’t really see them while I’m out there grinding.
Hey! Just wanted to say that I think the cosmetics are cool, but I personally haven’t bought any of them due to not being able to use them offline, shame. Hope you allow that in a future update.
Hello! I think it would be a wonderful idea to organize UGC (user-generated content) events, where the best works could be featured in the game — just like it happens in Counter-Strike and Dota 2. Thank you very much!
I think what is made is far less important than quantity. Right now there just aren’t that many things to buy. Focus should be on creating a lot of new stuff and making a wide variety of different sets (and finishing the sets that are missing items or only have a single item).
You will never please everyone, so going for quantity covering a ton of different styles and looks would be best.
My biggest hope is alternative skill effects with different sounds. A lot of skill effects are bland and some are unplayable to me because the sounds are not to my liking.
To me most of them look “cartoonish”, would like something more visceral which i think will not happen as the game is far from that too. Supported with packs though before acquisition, not anymore.
As someone who’s bought a supporter pack every season, likely above average in cosmetic spending:
Skill effects are easily the thing I’m most interested in and would like to see more of.
Armor sets only feel useful to me if they can match the aesthetic of a build I want to play. There are some armor/weapon sets that don’t feel like they match well with any ingame skills, e.g. water-themed armor from one of the past supporter packs looks cool but I’ve never used because water-themed skills/builds aren’t really a thing. I’m more hesitant to buy stuff like this.
I can only speak for myself but my biggest issue with your supporter packs is the general art-style. They just look too cartooney for me and more like i’m wearing plastic instead of actual armor.
They did recently make it so you could use them offline. If that’s not working for you then you may need to investigate the possibility of opening a bug report on it.
Ability MTX is by far the most interesting one, but that is not to say the other ones are irrelevant.
I also like passive MTXs that change things in the environment, making smashing open or opening things let out a puff of smoke or something.
Finally, audio MTX is something I would love to see more of.
If I could get an sharp audio cue on kill MTX, something like the Profane Bloom pop sound, then I would instantly buy that.
Which items do you feel offer the best value or appeal, and why?
Skill MTX: Whatever makes the biggest change from the original. No simple recolors.
Armor /weapons : Big and flashy. Armor needs glowing effects (Thunder armor), weapons need detail and should look dangerous (compare new weapon mtx to divinity mace).
Are there specific themes, styles, or item types you’d like to see more of? Less of?
Would love to see on-death effects that match the theme of the weapon MTX.
Don’t favour one item type over another. Don’t reskin one for another (primal weapons all look great but are very similar). Weapon categories should come with their own theme. Primal wand for example, seems out of place as primal is strength themed vs wand are for int casters.
Don’t just make weapon mtx to match armor sets. Weapons should be unique, let players mix and match.
Are there any items you’ve avoided purchasing, and what influenced that decision?
Avoided purchasing recolor skill mtx (warpath, Maelstrom), didn’t hesitate to buy cosmic hammer throw. It’s gotta look different from the original, or at least have added effects (different hammer design with lightning sparks).
Avoided purchasing the old armor sets as they didn’t include flashy armor effects.
Maybe you should start following meta in the game and make mtx for meta skills that 90% of playerbase play and not for skills like swipe/serpent strike that nobody touches. Your choice of skill mtx so far was really out of touch with playerbase so no wonder the studio isnt doing well financially, embrace the meta not reddit homebrew builds
For me skill effects, I have a 3070 laptop and I tend to avoid fire based skills builds in general because that lags my PC a lot, so having some alternative animation to fire based skills that might go a bit easier on the graphics/performance would be a great addition.
As I also love minion builds having some alternatives to minions (skeletons, abomination, golem, bear etc) is also very welcome.
