XP gain feels slow late game?

I am level 86 running empowered monoliths (100+) and the XP is feeling very slow, I would have thought that the XP would be better since the monsters are much higher level but this does not appear to be the case. Does the XP stay the same regardless of your level and it is just the monsters that get harder?

Is anyone else noticing this?

They have adjusted the leveling speed because too many people have complained itā€™s too easy to get to level 100.

EHG also feels that players shouldnā€™t be at level 100 to be ā€œreally start playing the end-gameā€, so players should take their time to get level 100.

Personally I donā€™t like this because I have many alts, but then itā€™s true you get most your builds figured out by level 80 anyway. That extra 20 passive points do matter, but not game changer.

For whatever reason beeing lvl 100 is something special for the devs. I never understood this because to me this is nothing special and never was but it is what it is.

I think itā€™s the legacy sentiment from D2 era. There is a level/exp ladder and you lose exp when you die, so itā€™s really hard to get to level 99.

Itā€™s just a bit strange. Most builds are up and running at level 75-80 and the slowest time of the game is 90-100 that gives the player the least value. It just feels like a waste of time sometimes ^^.

lol I think so too, but I guess they just kinda want to let people feel the false sense of slowly progressing and achivement?

Itā€™s no achivement itā€™s just the end of the stick when you realize things are a tad bit shallow.

But then it is exactly ok like it is now, isnā€™t it? Because you donā€™t need to be lvl 100 for anything.

Itā€™s just a cheap way to prolong the feeling of progression because there is nothing ingame to strife for from my point of view. Iā€™m 100 sooner or later but the lackluster feeling of getting from 85-100 is just a useless slog because the last few points are mostly the least valuable points you fill um to get the last % here and there without much of an impact. In short it makes 85-100 the least intresting part of the game.

While I disagree with the overall ā€˜artificialā€™ premise. I do agree that leveling past 85 feelsā€¦ meh. Iā€™ve personally always been a fan of AA type progression (not how D3 did it with paragon), but having some other character building path that starts at higher levels, and continues through max-level, if you choose. I know some donā€™t like it, and thatā€™s fine, but for me, I just like continuing to evolve a character, and not necessarily just shelving them when they get certain gear and/or level threashold.

Iā€™m in my 90s and it doesnā€™t feel too bad, especially if you are CoF and hit a lot of xp tome monos, they make a huge difference. Iā€™ve only got 100 in PoE a couple times over many years, and I can see myself having 2-3 100s each cycle in LE.

Isnā€™t that exactly what Faction offer? Progression through exp (and spending favor) waaaay past Level 100?

Itā€™s kinda slow from 85/90 but builds are pretty much done by then and leftover points are little extra stuff so itā€™s not really hindering. Plus thereā€™s no idiotic XP penalty on death so eventually youā€™ll get there.

Not IMHO. Gaining favor isnā€™t developing my character. Gaining rep to unlock loot drop %'s isnā€™t progressing my character, anymore than a daily quest with gold reward, to buy items from an AH, is progressing a character.

While endless developing character would be fun for some, it would make balancing difficult or even impossible. Development has to stop somewhere. Also different people have different preference for where that stop should be.

If it is also a capped system and not some endless leveling I am good with that.

Target farming the Experience Echos in Monolith helps a lot.

Currently level 97 (In MG), and gaining about 2-3% exp for each Experience Echo. Meaning 1 Monolith can grant u about 10-15% exp total. (And this is still with corruption between 100-200, so nothing too much either)

Its deffo much quicker than hitting level 100 than games like PoE or D2, even without being optimal about it.

Leveling past 85 is super slow. Iā€™d even argue past 80.
I finished the campaign at 80, and I started running the 100 monoliths to level up.
1 monolith gives you a single bar of exp worth, and this is at low 80ā€™s, given you kill everything in it, and covering the entire map with the current movement speed takes a while. ~10 minutes.
~100 minutes give or take for a single level. With me being able to only play up to 4 hours a day, how long will it take me to reach 100 and get all passives for my build?
Iā€™m playing CoF, so I donā€™t have the luxury of buying the build items for more efficient clear speed.

If a cycle is 3 months, how many characters will I get to 100?
Iā€™m just about ready to quit until this gets better. Iā€™m not going to spend every waking moment of my free time grinding for levels. Game is supposed to be an item chase, not a level chase.

Getting to 97-98 should be achievable within a week, then couple of weeks target farming for your items will push you to 100. Then a new character, and all over again.

There should be at least 4-5 level 100ā€™s in my character selection per cycle.

CoF should be trade available with the Bazaar with a limited selection & increased prices. Whatā€™s the difference between CoF and SSF? You canā€™t party and thatā€™s it? -.-

Keep this style of leveling for the HC league, and think a bit on your casual normal league players which compose the majority of your costumers.

Running the same monolith biomes and objectives over and over getā€™s even more annoying & boring the longer you do it at a lower level.

No way Iā€™m starting a new character with the way things are. Iā€™ll probably finish this one and stop playing. My friend that has even less time to play than me, already quit.

Just my two cents on the topic.

As I said somewhere else there could be different kinds of progression like ā€œskilltreesā€ for monolith or arena or even cycle themes in the future to personalise the gaming experience.

Artifical is maybe the wrong word but Iā€™m not sure how to call something that is intentioaly out of proportion to use up a lot of more time the never before for no obvious reason.

Yeah but I just donā€™t like to grind for items that are ā€œalmost impossibleā€ to get. Itā€™s like after the D4 release. All my toon needed was a shaco and I couldnā€™t be arsed to grind for a Shaco because the odds of winning a lottery 2 times in a row wouldā€™ve been better.

We have endless difficulty through corruption. In the end some kind of paragon like system would simply allow to run higher corruption levels what makes not that much sense at all because the rarity mods arenā€™t that high no matter if you run 300 oder 2000 corruption.
