The exploit was already fixed, even when people were still talking about it. And, like in the past, I expect most (or all) of the duped gold to have been removed from the game.
Prices go up for several reasons, like people simply getting more gold over time and not wanting to sell stuff cheap, demand for some meta builds being higher than the supply, etc.
But mostly it goes high when people hear of an exploit because everyone wants to âexploit the exploitersâ, even if that gold is no longer around.
And even if they donât sell their items (because barely anyone can actually afford them), they will stay inflated and drive further sellers to inflate them as well.
Itâs a sort of price speculation by faulty perception.
you clearly have no clue. ppl were buying items for 10-100mil. its not possible to farm so much liquid gold even on 2k corr.
Having 10 mil right now is no big deal. If you know how to play the market even 100 mil are no sweat. So maybe you turn down your ideas about who has clues or not ^^.
Yes, because itâs not possible to sell items, you have to actually farm the gold.
You can easily make several millions per hour just by selling good idols.
âif you know how to play the marketâ i was talking about liquid gold my summer child. im pretty sure all gold you have is from trading.
I donât play market league ^^. But Iâm also done with with you wannabe smarty pants ;).
so you donât play MG and just yapping here. good to know. bye
What the hell are you talking about? You sell stuff, you get gold. If you know what to sell (especially good idols), you make 100 million per day easily as a no-lifer.
ok. it seems like you are not very smart person to talk with. sorry
Sure, bruh. Keep deflecting rather than having actual arguments.
Yeah that didnât happen in the past at all. So why would it now?
I didnât like how they dealt with it in the past, with zero transparency and annoyed to be asked about it. So Iâm sure I wonât like it now. But it seems par for the course at this point so Iâm not going to spend any time worrying about it.
If itâs the exploit I heard about this morning then it does have an impact on CoF as well, just to a much lesser extent.
What do you mean it didnât happen in the past? Mike said, on stream, when asked directly about this, that they removed most of the duped gold. And that âpeople vastly overestimate the amount of duped gold left in the gameâ.
To be fair, almost no game makes announcements on bans. Even GGG rarely does it. They usually fix the exploit, remove the exploited stuff and carry on with barely any conversation about it.
But I agree that it would be nice if they made some announcement like âexploit is fixed and weâve dealt with the results of itâ. No need to go into specifics, just an announcement that it was dealt with.
There was probably a ton of unspent duped gold that they caught and removed. But that wasnât the issue.
They stated that if they people that (unknowingly)sold items to the dupers then spent their gold on other items there wasnât anything they could do about it. The market was ruined, as demonstrated by permanently inflated prices, and that was a major reason why they made another version of the same season. Which I believe had itâs own dupe?
A ton of items people were saving for were bought up and permanently taken off the market due to the âno flippingâ mechanism. Those werenât fixed either.
They also didnât shut down the market until days after the exploit was initially reported on various outlets.
But yeah, GGG has turned out to be just as bad even recently. Which is part of why I donât really care going forward. It is what it is.
The market was ruined but it was more because of peopleâs perception of the available gold. They sold stuff for a lot more because they thought there was abundant gold around, but then most didnât actually sell anything.
And since they never bothered to bring down the prices, they kept getting inflated.
When this type of thing happens, itâs more the fault of the players than the actual economy. Because most of the high value items will just sit there for weeks without being sold.
It was not. It was part of the reason, but a small one. The main part was adding new stuff, testing balance (they added a bunch of bonuses to XP and favour and wanted to test those values in a fresh start) and getting data/feedback.
And it was not another version of the season, it was an event that had itâs own (quite limited, granted) mechanic.
It did not. Although that could simply be because there werenât that many players joining the event.
That is because it was reported during the weekend when the devs werenât working.
But Mike said that they have improved the monitoring and response mechanisms for expoits since then.
Which is why they have now responded much faster to the current issues.
Good to know.
To be honest this is the first season of an ARPG where Iâm just playing at my own pace and learning. Maybe itâs the lack of of a season journey with a big checklist of things to do. But Iâm just enjoying what we have and going wtih it.
Reported for being a bigot.
And whatâs the point in joining trading guild if you donât plan on selling? Some guys just want things to be handed to them. I have joined the guild and now you guys should sell me BIS gear for one million. Itâs free market and price go up if demand much higher than supply.
Im playing four days and already found ring of atlaria for over 200 million.
But I also make 500k sales constantly with idols and other gear.
If you donât want to trade than you should join different guild.
Buying.
Quick question.
ActionRPG has been livestreaming the past 7 days, right. He had over 15 million gold.
So, what makes you guys think 100 mil daily income is normal?
And what makes you think 200 mil price for a single item is normal?
Because people are willing to pay for that ring. If you donât wanna buy it you can go find yourself. If there is about 10 rings on a sale with lp1 what price should it cost? Like 1 million? You should ask developers why are some items so rare. And you can buy some uniques without LP just to get your build going for reasonable price. If you want best in slot you have to pay hundred of millions if not billions. Who can force me sell that ring cheaper if I know there are customers who are willing to pay 200+ million?
Imagine in real life. You are Selling Lamborghini for 500k USD and Iâm asking you where do I suppose to get that money? But unlike real life you have choice in LE and join other guild. Only way I can get 500k usd is working for years without spending anything or winning lottery.
Itâs exactly what they are doing. They are printing money without gold or something that can prove its worth something. Thatâs why in my country inflation rate is beyond reasonable. Last season I was selling gear for 500 million thatâs worth right now 2-3 at best. So you can sell items overpriced but the problem begins when someone doesnât want to invest time in game. Believe me your example with real life is wrong. You can work for 12 hours 7 days a week and never buy chiron. If you invest 12 hours per day in last epoch you will have everything you need in 1-2 week.
