So, I went on twitch and NOBODY is streaming this game.. I was the only one streaming it lol.. This game needs more love. Diablo 4 sucks.
Because there isnât anyone playing this game.
We had very few players at the start of this season, but by now most of them have left anyway. Last Epoch is back to the base 1.500 daily players that it keeps between releases, a very small number to attract any twicth streamer.
I am still seeing active players in this game and in chat as well and people running by in towns.. Plenty of people on.
We know exactly how many concurrent players Last Epoch has each day. Your individual perception doesnât really add much to that.
Season 4 began with less players than the 1.1 update, and around half the players season 3 had. It has settled down at around 1.500 players right. Meanwhile, Diablo 4, on Steam alone, is at around 20.000 players, Path of Exile (1) is at 5.500 players on Steam alone, and even Grim Dawn is at more than 4.000 players these days.
There are very few people playing Last Epoch, in comparison with every other moderately big game in the same genre. No one is going to stream it on Twitch at such low player numbers.
That is truly unfortunate.. This game needs more exposure.. Diablo 4 is honestly garbage and I had both expansion.. This game is much more easier to play..
Not according to the steam db you linked. The peak for the last 30 days was 3.6k.
That would be still the end of the seasonal player decay. For the last couple of weeks itâs always been under 2k.
Lol Iâve been checking numbers for ages this league. It actually got to like 713 at one check yesterday. Google told me that the lowest recorded numbers for daily activity (players online) since 1.0 were 800-900, Iâve never seen below 1000 until yesterday I mean it might have dropped before but even in the 7 months last season I never saw it below 1400ish off memory whenever I checked out of curiosity. This isnât a number to be white knighted or have some excuse/reason behind. The pure facts are the game is in the worst state Iâve seen PERSONALLY since starting to play - March 19th, 2025 - 2419 hours at an average of 7.5 hours a day (few months I didnât play). I fell in love with this game itâs why I quite POE2 so hard but staying in love with something so broken⌠not sure I can.
The game doesnât âneed more exposureâ. It had itâs chance⌠chanceS and it utterly utterly utterly utterly UTTERLY utterly utterly blew every single one of them. There are only a finite number of âoh Iâll give it one last shotsâ in the world before the numbers start falling off cliffs, and oh wait, would you look at that?
Player peak ~halves per season, and it will be more of the same in ⌠5 months or whatever. There is simply no one left in the wider population who remotely cares about giving the game any more chances/time/money/effort/attention.
Also global warming isnât real because it was cold outside today.
why do streamers stream? i would argue mostly to make money/fame.
if they wanted either of the 2, diablo and poe has a bigger audience.
there are those that stream for games they like with passion.
are there any that play LE with passion that have interesting personalities?
i cant think of any. i can think of rax, ryhkker, zizarian just to name a few but theyâre all playing poe/d4. i have very little reason to watch some unknown bloke play LE.
what is there even to watch? interesting builds? a build showcase is a âone shot videoâ.
what about crafting? would you watch someone attempt to craft something on LE?
as for LE itself, theres nothing too different from LE to POE gameplay wise, when everyones just zooming/blasting the entire screen. whats there to be âwatchedâ?
This season was a let down and ushered in way to many game breaking bugs. Quit after 2 weeks and just disappointed in the games progress and development. PoE 2 just had their massive league update and itâs amazing so we are all playing that for the foreseeable future.
I have over 2,000 hours in LE but that was mostly during early development and now I look at LE as a game that could of, would of, should of, but just isnât. Every season is in the wrong direction and EHG got away from core ideas of early access and tried to implement to many ARPG systems from other games.
I just donât think EHG can put lightning back in a bottle and fix LE. Game went downhill soon as they added dodge roll and tried to be âlikeâ other ARPGs instead of LE.
Just some food for thought. PoE 2 is living up to the hype right now, LE doesnât need to be PoE 2 and they should of never tried is the problem. They just needed to find their own niche but they didnât. So no one wants to play LE and when I mean âNO ONEâ I mean just look at the player count. They should have 10 times the players and 100k at season launches. Sadly next season will likely be less and doubt people will come back if EHG canât work on bugs and the core game.
Seasonal mechanics hardly matter when the core game has so many issues and game breaking bugs. They should of focused on the core game, classes and fixed issues.
This is a tough one, Iâve been less engaged this season and my LE hours are at 953. I hopped back into D4 after not playing since Season 1 way back and checking out PoE2âs new season. I still think this game scratches my itch of an ARPG from that mid tier bucket (i.e. not too brain dead easy vs too complex of systems), but the lack of skill variety on classes, plenty of bugs thatâs been discussed a bunch of forums, and 4 seasons now of not making the plethora of uniques usable is kind of getting to me.
Still have hope that things turn out better but I agree with @AbombDaChamp that they are trying to copy too many things and should fix the core gaming experience and variety of builds/skills and items before going further. Itâs extremely annoying to try new builds only to find that things are very underwhelming. Instead of just nerfing everything, buff the skills/uniques and other things that donât get used.
i actually think that dodge rolls are good. it reduces the need for players to have 100000% movespeed.
but i agree with your sentiment of LE should be more of LE. to me the LE i fell in love with was before season 1.
one key feature that made me fall in love with LE was i felt like i could make any build work. highly unoptimized but i could probably push them to corruption 100. i would say no one needed build guides as i would argue corruption 100 was a pretty fair challenge for âthe regular dudeâ.
to get regular abby we need to push to c300. i feel forced to optimize my build.
then the other half of the equation is gearing. all the way to the end of the campaign, crafting IS FUN. i brick things, but its ok, lets try again. its doable. lets get t20! but at the end game, its all about double exalted items. getting a good double exalted is hard enough, then it feels like gambling where the odds are stacked against you. the fun i had crafting in the campaign was replaced by a chore. failing now meant looking for a double exalted item all over again. and not only that, its preferable to get double exalted on specific item bases. crafting in the campaign is like playing bingo. you dont feel like its impossible and you do win. but not often. crafting in the end game is like winning a lottery to even get a bingo card.
Honest suggestion: Have you tried buying a âLegends Entwinedâ ring, corrupt set items to make them perfect [it is deterministic âenoughâ], equip them, stack-up skills and attributes from the ring and call it a day?
Check this out with any class; it will surprise you how far you can get into the end-game âjustâ with thatâŚ
wow wtf ring is that. +1 to all skills per complete set? thats ridiculous
It is a âPrimordial Itemâ. You can have only one of these items equipped at any time.
There is an in-game shop for these items run by an NPC in Chapter 10. But same NPC is found in each Beast encounter though the Campaign and Monoliths. So it is not hard to find at all.
Problem is to have enough currency to buy the items in the shop since you can only gather its currency in the Beast encounters. So you wonât be able to buy anything until relatively mid-late in the campaign.
But yeah, it is a 100% deterministic item. You can count on having one even with no LP and bad rolls.
And then, the way corrupting set items works so far is:
- Contrary to any other item, they donât get any corrupted affix.
- Instead, they can transform in completely random regular item with a reforged slot affix - mid-high chance
- Or set all its variable rolls to maximum. Two variances here: (1) normal affixes rolls are maxed out [low chance] or (2) all affix rolls are maxed out; including implicit affixes [very low chance].
- Or set all its variable rolls to minimum. Again, two variances here: (1) normal affixes rolls are minimized [low chance] or (2) all affix rolls are minimized ; including implicit affixes [very low chance].
- Or became complete unusable - very low chance
In my experience, just playing the game in Circle of Fortune can get you âreasonable-enoughâ set pieces. And once you have enough runes, you can start to get âperfectâ corrupted set items.
It is not 100% deterministic per corruption attempt⌠but even if unlucky you will get there eventually.
Sure, best items will still be these with double/triple crafted 7s ⌠but right now, you can have something cheap and reasonable⌠but still powerful.
if the game was balanced around c100 or even c200 i would actually feel like coming back to give the ring a try. but as it is, if i need to hyper optimize my build, i rather stick to poe.
I feel game balance is around 300. Thatâs regular Abby territory⌠and thatâs a reasonable millestone for me.
I donât feel I âneedâ to kill uber Abby [500 corruption] nor the new boss [at 400 corruption]. They are still there in case I ever want to try, but I have more fun toying around with the different items/classes⌠After-all, re-rolling in this game is really, really cheap.
I canât comment on POE because never played⌠but I can honestly say that I am an âexiledâ from POE2 because it simply doesnât respect my time, in the way that LE does.
Anyhow, LE will still be here for a while, so if you want to check it out this or next seasons; just do it.
No chance itâs balanced around 300 right now with all the broken builds and items - I have 14 alts on my profile only 4 or 5 of them are under 300c and those are random builds I mean my multistrike guy is a pure melee made up on my own build I couldnât see anywhere and heâs level 91 and killed blacksun harby at 2000c (you can see what corr each char has hit) so yeah, 300 is just not it this season. This season going off the 10 or so hours per day I was playing most general people in chat were 700-1000 when yarning to others. When I first started in 1.0 that would have been called out âliarâ âprove itâ but right now you can jump in, level a char follow a guide and 1 shot uberroth in a day with minimal gear or effort. That same build is capable of running in the 1000s for corruption and the othe variant even higher corruption. Then check out the corruption leaderboard and the numbers this season are insaneeeeee compared to last.
I hope LE will be around for a while but as I write this and check steamdb - as mentioned in another thread I do this all the time on various games and until this season had never seen below 1400ish on LE we are at an all time low, again. I fear that season 4 has damaged this game more than anything else has prior to it and they have a hard hard fight to bring in numbers for the launch of season 5 however many MANY months that is away, yet again. I love this game but love ainât gonna fix anything.
D4 is in a far better state right now. So D4 sucks is just a stupid thing to say. Sure you can dislike it for whatever reason but itâs far away from sucking.
For LE? Nothing changes in a big way. They offer to little to late. They have a strange priority list and work at the wrong things at the wrong time. Just an example everyone and their grandma told them to cook more before releasing just for EHG to release the game. Long story short they stopped pushing out seasons to take a year to solve some of the more glearing holes the game had and are still far from repairing their flawed foundation.
In short the intrest for LE is equal to the quality contetn EHG is putting out⌠very little. So from my point of view LE sadly suck hairy swatty balls but maybe they turn it arround at some point like Diablo did over the years with good addons.
