Who does LP3 and 4 items hurt the most?

noone said to make it less challening, thanks for the response.

It’s actually too late for cycle 1. PoE starts in a week, this place will be empty again until the next cycle. I’ve done over 2200 echos on both my 100’s combined with both being at or over 500 corruption and have never seen a 4lp. I’ve never seen a 1lp wings (lots of time here), an lp2 shackle (good amount of time on first char), or a 1lp heart (good amount of time here) The few 3lp’s I have found were all junk that sells for 0 gold on the AH and I couldn’t use them anyway, wrong weapon type, etc. Monoliths get extremely boring with no upgrades. Maybe if there was something else to do it wouldn’t feel so bad.

Yeah, I know, but that indirectly decreases the technical “drop rate” (or chance of obtaining) for all uniques, which also means decrease in the technical “drop rate” for LP items, although the drop rate “number” stays the same. I am just saying that they should take that into account.

Great to hear from someone that has spent a ton of time, (more than me) and the result is the same,

farming COF gives you nothing, and even adding time into the equation shows its literally impossible to progress past a certain point.

thanks for the feedback.

Holy… first CoF people complained about low drop rates, now MG players are mad cause good valued items cost gold? im sorry but for sure all of these players are just young people who never grind for anything. Such lame and weak mentality

Afaik there were some item dupes and gold exploits. I might be wrong about this but if this was the case the prices we have right now are not close to what we get in the future. Sadly the eternal realm will be fubar after the first season  .

I don’t think that is a fitting term for said items. I played WoW for example to get the shackles for my thunderfury. It took a long time to get those and I would call these chase items I have a chance to get once a week.
I played LI2 and there were items i needed for my build that had 0,006% drop chance and I grinded those.
In LE we have items that have items with 0.00001% drop chance and items with even less that isn’t able to be correctly displayed by the item databases.

That’s no chase anymore. That’s like telling you start to grind the lottery because the odds to win are so good in the long run. It’s just a tad bit to much and I hope they make the stupide rare items a tad bit easier to get so there is a chance to get one in a season.

Tomorrow the 3rd season of Hero Siege starts and I even play HS over LE ^^.

Farming CoF is a reason for me to play the game. If I had the money and bought all the stuff I needed for my build I’d be done with the game some time ago.

noone said items should be instantly gained through COF, just possibly gained. and many are unaffected because of drop rates being too low.

I see this common logical flaw in many responses when someone says (hey could we make this better). The common response seems to : well then if we get everything immediately…

Kinda weird tbh. Noone is saying that, people are having real issues with progression right now, and because of it, they wont play the game, because not having (corruption progression) because of bottlenecks in upgrades that cant be overcome is a definite gameplay issue, and its a fun issue.

Steam stats is aligned with you Xaaz-

Cant post the picture (very clear downswing in player count) but I’m pretty certain the gradual downswing in active player count is directly related to people not being able to progress characters because of stupendously tedious and unattainable progression.

Now go look at Path of Exile a month after a new league releases.

They just need to give us a mechanic that either takes a bit of time to do and / or is difficult to do to where we can Re-slam an item.

I’ve spent 300 hours in the game so far, probably spent 50+ hours farming 1 item (+4 frostclaw / twisted heart with LP to slam it on), I finally get a SUPER rare 2LP item (0.65% boss drop item) and decide to slam the +4 frost claw on it with a 50/50 chance, fail. I slam a 1LP item with +4 frostclaw that I duplicated (which i only got 4 duplication runes thus far) and failed.

So now I have to spend another ~60 hours farming in hopes that I can get the item(s) again and successfully slam them. That makes me want to quit playing for the cycle. Imagine you get a red ring with LP and fail the slam. Most people will quit if that is the BiS item they needed not to fail. I’d still have to farm the +4 frostclaw to reslam my 2LP item with, why not just let me save the damn item instead of bricking it?

This is a very strong player retention curve which is shown there.

Please learn how cyclic player retention and the established numbers for those work before making arguments about them.

First you’re making a generalization, pushing the reasoning to a singular cause, which creates automatically a wrong outcome.
The reasoning for the drop is manyfold. Finished content, reached goals, other releases, frustrating mechanics, unable to progress… all of them and not just ‘that one’ you proclaim it to be.

Secondly, you’re creating a strawman as well. Cyclic games drop to down to 10-20% of their peak playerbase as a ‘stable’ one. Only when we get vastly below 10% is it a reason for worry. This ‘valley’ is reached usually after 1 1/2 - 2 months, which is why Path of Exile decided to make it a 3 month cycle for their game since it gives players time to mentally recuperate and hence start off with ‘a fresh mentality’.

What you provided is utterly nonsensical to your own argumentation.

You are right nobody said that and I don’t know why you come up with this ^^. Maybe you replied to the wrong person? I even said that CoF and farming is what keeps me playing LE  .

Yep, I play D3 when I want to scratch the itch of fountains of loot and a fast power curve. Then I’m done. The hardest part of the season for me is usually the set dungeon because I always have to figure out how to avoid overpowering it.

This game feels more D2. I got the build defining staff for a fire wraith necro on my paladin at LP3 and it’s making me want to build around it. The only thing I’m worried about is that they’ll roll out so many changes that cool items I stash away won’t be good by the time I get to them. D2 never had that issue.

didnt read again.

hey i learned so much from this post.

The more dedicated players get hurt, the economy gets hurt, and more. It’s an online game with > 10k players, there is going to be some sort of competition and all sorts of achievements to show off.

If this was going the route of your regular co-op game, then yeah, higher drops but it clearly wasn’t meant for that as you can see trading is active.

If there is really a problem with the loot rate, they just need to improve it for some sort of offline mode but always have something to say like they want to play with friends and if they allow some type of co-op otherwise from online server, people will say they want to play with online random ppl, etc… the excuses just never stop.

The most important and main thing to back up the loot drop debate is whether or not you can complete and participate in all content of a game during a season and the answer to that is, yes.You can clear all content without any LP items. In fact, I have pushed all chars up to 500 corrupt with 0-1 LP items. In other words, at the current state of the game, drop rates are fine. Unless the gear provides new content and gives a solid reason to “have” to increase power to progress, it is not needed.

Raising drop rates to aid in pushing unlimited levels of corruption in exchange to playing with the economy and making the excitement of drops even less, is a very terrible trade imo.

As far as drop rates actually, if you target farm properly, items are more obtainable then people make it sound. I personally have found about a dozen of 2LP Twisted hearts, tens of 1 lp th’s and probably low hundreds of 0 lp th’s.

so in conclusion, after many posts in this thread, we have an answer.

LP3 and 4 items hurt gatekeepers the most.

Thanks everyone.
