What does reflected damage mean?

I searched on the forum but didnt saw anything about it.
Maybe i didnt looked good enough sorry!

Is reflected damage (without the to attackers line) considered damage that enemies do to you, will be reflected back to the enemy?

Or does it mean that for example 30% of the damage YOU do will be reflected back to you?? Iam not sure since it doesnt clearly states YOU.

If I’m not wrong, the player receives, mitigates then reflects.
You won’t receive a part of the damage you deal.

But is the stat Reflected damage the same as reflect to attackers but instead percentage based on the damage you received and mitigated? Or does it mean that damage that YOU do yourself to enemy attackers will be reflected back to yourself?

Its not clear to me if i reflect the incoming damage or the enemy minions will reflect the incoming damage with this stat.

As I said:

So no part of the damage you do will be sent back to you.

There are two types of reflect, flat and %. Both are ā€œelement-lessā€ damage so they can’t be affected by any of your stats (with the exception of the unique modifier on one of the new 0.8.4 unique shields which increases the flat reflect damage by x% per point of Attunement) and they can’t be reflected back to you.

As Shtrak said, % reflect is calculated after your mitigation.

The two reflect stats on your gear only apply to you (apart from minion reflect which applies to minions).

I still don’t know why some of the rare ā€œIncreased damageā€ (with no qualifiers, found in some places) doesn’t affect reflect.

I’d probably need to check the devs’ response to my query when I get my pc moved back into the front room.

Any update on if ā€œIncreased Damageā€ (with no qualifiers) affects flat reflected damage?

Nope, but you might want to remind me in ~2days time when I’m back home.

I pretty much asked the same question in this post, How Reflected Damage Scales, but nobody has answered yet. Would be really helpful to know. This is what I wrote there:

I don’t pretend to know the ins and outs of the design of reflect in this game, but thematically it just makes zero sense to me for generic ā€œincreased damageā€ to benefit reflect. Damage done to attackers, sure, but not reflect.

I see damage done to attackers as more of a thorns type of thing. It is damage coming from you. With reflect, your character is not the source of the damage, the enemy is. It wouldn’t make sense if your stats buffed damage the enemy does.

Is this a good reflect damage chest armour to use for a reflect/thorns type of build?

that’s all really good question, I was asking myself the same, and for minion if they take increase damage, like with death rattle, does that mean they reflect more??

I can get my reflect druid up to around 5400 reflected damage based only on flat damage + unique shield + passives (with just 1 Thorn Shield cast, more if you spam it).

If ā€œIncreased damageā€ also affects it, then it can get higher.

Reflected damage is unaffected by all player damage modifiers (including the generic % increased damage), but it’s also unaffected by all enemy damage reduction/mitigation (including the generic % DR based on level) with the exception of ā€œless/increased damage takenā€ which mobs don’t have by default & boss damage reduction.

That makes no sense to me. Reflected FLAT damage (and IMHO, even reflected % damage) is happening because of ME and my gear, passive or skill use. Therefore, any damage my body reflects should be enhanced if the modifiers I possess would affect that damage. This means most modifiers would not work, with the exception of ā€œIncreased Damageā€ (no qualifiers).

shrugs I don’t know what to say mate other than the devs has effectively said ā€œit just ####ing doesn’tā€.

Thanks for explaining it make more sense
