Warlock Reveal Circumstances

They did, but they still drip fed it.

I don’t mind they way they did it for past content because it was set up to where each subject was given a proper and full release on each day. They didn’t have “7 Days of new Act 1!” you know? Spreading 1 subject too thinly was my main issue with Warlock reveal.

Edit: I should add also, that those previous posts were also on their own forums, and they had more (all of the) control on how it was given to us. It didn’t have the chance to flop quite so badly. And each subject had enough to talk about to satisfy. Where with Warlock there just wasn’t and isn’t enough to talk about to spread it so thinly.

Completely agreed, which is why I called it crocodile tears earlier. He gets to claim he’s listening to feedback and trying to do better, but it ignores the scummiest part that benefits him the most - withholding information from the IV text posts to drive traffic to his videos and channel while delivering nothing more interesting or informative than a text post would have done.

A short and concise video would be enough. No need to drag it out for a week.

And honestly, that’s how the reveal should have been done…IMHO Then use the content creators to show, via video, how things work in-game. Perhaps even a couple hours of gameplay, highlighting possible starting builds and/or skill synergies.

AaronRPG: Each day showcase a different set of skills… Day 1, here’s some video of the curses, and some discussion surrounding them. Days 2, here’s the attack skills, along with discussion on synergies. Day 3, defensive/utility skills + synergies and discussion. Day 4, 20 minutes of gameplay, featuring <starter build 01>. Day 5, 20 minutes of gameplay featuring <starter build 02>
Days 4+5…also showcasing some of the new uniques and affixes created for the new Mastery.

To me, at least, that would have been far more interesting, and informative. Not just a couple 8 minute videos, mousing over all the passive and skill tree nodes.

Yeah, there was definitely a chance for the content creator to go beyond a brief reading of the nodes & get into the interesting stuff, the basics of how the skill works, possible builds, synergies with other skills, etc.

Some questions about Warlock Class and I’ll just post it here.

What’s the Mastery Bonus for Warlock? I don’t think I’ve seen it anywhere. I mean Lich has “1% of damage dealt is leeched as health and spells and Melee attacks deal increased damage equal to your missing health” and Necromancer has “+1 Skeleton and Skeleton Mage and Minions deal 50% increased damage”

And below are just my opinion:
Is this Warlock Icon/Logo will be the official one? ↓

I mean, I kinda prefer this one a lot more. I think it’s more fitting in terms of being “Evil” or “Curse Oriented” class. ↓

And I can’t find more in google since I don’t know the exact term, but it’s something like a “wheel” with wendigo skull at the middle attached by rope or strings. If you played Grim Dawn, you can see a lot of these or similar in the game world. Wendigo-ish, physical and blood. Also reminds me of Blair Witch. ↓

5% more damage per curse on the target.
+35% Fire and Necrotic Resistance.

I actually like the one they have which you showed better, and I’m glad they came up with their own rather than trying to copy someone else’s.

For me the most skill I am waiting is “Racing” Ghost Flame but I’m worried about mana for this setup. What we have for good generation? Rip Blood 9 mana on cast and Transplant node 30 Mana on cast + 1 mana for every hitting monster with that. The cost of standard channel cost (without reduced cost on Sceptre) for Ghost Flame is 40. Now we gonna take most important nodes:

  1. Spectral Menace - 5 points = -70% channel cost
  2. Spirit of Dread - 1 point = +60% channel cost and also +20% MS
  3. Doom Surge - 3 points = +30% MS

So we have together -10% channel cost and we can more get -% channel cost but -% MS too from Harrowing Path. Then we have 3 wariants:

  • 50% MS + 36 mana / sec
  • 30% MS + 30 mana / sec
  • 10% MS + 24 mana / sec

Option second seems the best, cuz in first we have too over % MS and third too low % MS.

if someone puts himself into the open and produces whatever he should have a thick skin because it was his free choice to get his work ripped appart if it is crap. If someone can’t stand the pressure said person is better suited to not put herself out there.

Outside of this the whole discussion is again like brating a dead horse. The presentation wasn’t good and the way it was delivered wasn’t good as well. I think this topic can be closed and vids will be better in the future anyway :smiley: .

This is true, I would not disagree on needing a thick skin if you get into the entertainment industry (which streamers kinda are), but there’s constructive criticism & then there’s just being a dick about it (not that I’m saying much of the above posts were going that far).

Yeah but beeing a dig about stuff that is screamed into the ether is fair game. As long as noone just throws random insults I think it’s okay to call a clusterfuck a clusterfuck.
