Just bought and started playing this game only to find that the performance is so bad that it’s not even playable for me w/o going insane.
I am running an RTX 2070 Super 8Gb, Ryzen 5 5600x, with 32GB Ram. I can play just about ANY other game with the highest settings and easily get 60+ FPS. But this game is making me lower MANY settings to lower then Medium even. Only then do i get atleast 40 fps. None of this fixes the REAL main issue: The Stuttering Movement! Moving around is VERY painful! There is NO smoothmess to it at ALL. It’s like looking at snapshot after snapshot. Makes it VERY hard to do melee combat at all.
I KNOW this game is still EA, but i am not even seeing this as a known issue to the developers at all. Please address this with me and let’s see what we can do to fix this!
You provide a little info, but not enough to help out more than generally…
Yes, LE is in EA and has performance issues and optimisation happens with each patch. While there are general performance issues that are hard to isolate, there are also many known situations (lots of mobs/minions/skill procs all over/ massive mob wipes etc). that can cause large FPS drops and make the game unplayable for some without making some concessions in terms of framerate/resolution/graphic quality.
Even higher end systems than yours have issues and its not recommended to push the envelope right now unless you are specifically testing. The only difference for them is that they drop from 100+ fps at 1440p to 60fps where lower spec systems can potentially drop to single digit fps in the same situations.
For comparison, I have an i5-7500/1060/16gb/NVME setup and I can play happily at an average framerate of around 60 in play with 75fps in town. Lowest fps in general play can be 40fps… if I encounter a known performance killer, then it could drop to 20fps for a few seconds but I can usually see it coming. I run everything on low 1080p vsync anti-alisasing off with graphics driver set to performance and a more aggressive fan curve to keep GPU cool. CPU less than 50% & GPU average less than 70% usage most of the time. Personally I find the graphics look great - even at the lowest settings.
While your system should be able to handle more, I would recommend that you run it at its lowest graphics configs - especially if you run at higher resolutions and/or are doing other things on your system at the same time. Check the settings and put everything on the lowest and go from there… LE is both CPU & GPU intensive in some situations and this can cause issues when doing other things at the same time - eg. decoding a 4k stream on a second monitor etc…
Good luck…
ps… Oh, Everything above is assuming that your system has regular maintenance - i.e. patches, driver updates, no known issues/conflicts etc…
