It is arbitrary, but so is everything else going on in a situation like this. I think, personally, that anything that affects character strength negatively can easily be done in between cycles. If something gets caught within the first couple of days (before people have sunk significant time into anything) then go for it, but it’s hard for me to accept that whatever character I’m playing could potentially be weakened mid-season.
Thanks for the update, I’m glad we’re moving forward from this subject and that you’re communicating a clear stance for us.
Please, if possible, look at Summon Sabertooth’s Ice Bringer node. It does not work at all as described and one can’t build a Spell-based Primalist with the sabertooth because of it.
I just love how you’ve connected two completely unrelated things worked on by two completely unrelated parts of a development team. I wish I was as good at making connections… Also, what month has 20 days? Did I miss something?
All kidding aside, that sounds like quite the annoying bug to have if it’s hitting performance. I don’t have that one, myself, but there are others. I think I got lucky and don’t have any of the bugs that reset settings, but at least one of my friends has one that seems to reset some UI stuff. I can’t remember which. Although, I kinda wish the map overlay stayed between play sessions, because I forget to switch to it often enough. So, that could count, I suppose.
Cant believe it took 5 years to learn this
As a Warlock specced 5/5 Vampiric Pool who would continue to use the node for the duration increase even if it gave zero ward, thank you.
I will believe it when i See it, as many cases fixing things causes more bugs. With constant issues with servers and lag, i need to see proof
That’s a fair opinion as well. Did you take the survey and share it? I’m not accusing that you didn’t. Just that apparently the people who saw and reacted to the survey don’t agree with your take here.
I also think this is something that they should go out of their way to catch in QA testing above all else, but that something not working as intended absolutely blowing up and pissing the “apparent” majority of players off (as expressed in the survey results) is always going to become a priority to be dealt with. It’s also always going to be disagreed with. These are virtually unavoidable problems. This kind of thing is best mitigated by better testing, getting consent from the community (that survey) and apologizing for damage done. I think they could do a better apology here, myself, even if I agree with the actions taken.
Holy. The entitlement of this guy
I agree with you, but at the same time it’ll make for a better community when these people leave. I’ll be glad to buy another supporter pack if EHG needs.
Thank you, keep up the good work!

Yes, I took the survey. And let me say that I agree wholeheartedly that something as egregious as this should have been caught much earlier on and fixed then, and we wouldn’t have a problem here.
I disagree that the survey constitutes what the majority of players feel. It certainly shows what the majority of respondents feel, but that could be very, very different than the majority of players. Now, it could be completely accurate, but the point is that it’s very hard to quantify by us. EHG can compare the number of respondents to the number of players, but I don’t think that information is available to us at this point. Of course, even if this survey was taken by literally every player of Last Epoch, the results might be the same.
I’m quite confident in saying that the numbers will be very far apart. A survey like this is going to be taken almost exclusively by people who are heavily involved in the community, and generally speaking that isn’t usually a majority of players. For this reason I’m not convinced that surveys like this are the answer.
Awesome work and thank you for the heads up with an explanation. You guys get it. Much respect.
Let me rephrase that.
Issue: a skill performs wildly different than intended by design
EHG´s solution: change the skill to work as intended
Your solution: update the text and pretend the bug is a feature
Abuse bug → cry when its fixed. Grow up kid.
Can you also fix the Wraithlord AI ? Thanks.
For the people you are explaining, there is a slim chance they would have been using these bugs in the first place as content creators are the ones who spread it like wildfire. And said creators are now the ones screaming to have it fixed.
Yeah, the things you said about the survey are definitely true. Though, it’s all they really have to go on without aggregating all other forms of feedback (and winding up with just some more, but still not a majority). I think they are also true about the forums, though. So, all the dissenting opinions here are also representative of people who are heavily involved in the community.
I think a quick survey like this done where it was done was probably not the best answer. Leaving it alone (from a sheer standpoint of: retaining the most amount of players) was probably the answer. I personally agree with the fix happening, but I wouldn’t have done it, myself. Of the people who were upset about this not being fixed yet, some portion are not coming back even with the fix in place. Whether because they wont hear about it (moved onto another game or whatever), or because they are stubborn. It doesn’t matter. Some wont come back. Now, you have another contingent of players who are in that boat, and they didn’t have to be. My main gripe in all this is the attitudes on display, not the feelings and actions behind them. That said, none of this is representative of a large number of players either way. Not one single bit is…Until it becomes news that gets repeated and repeated. That’s when lots more people find out about it in more places and it becomes a proper problem for EHG. This might blow over like nothing right now, but you can bet it will come up again and be reinforced if it happens again like this. That said, they have an opportunity to become that one developer that pounces on these issues and deals with them super early in cycles if they want. Will they? idk. It’s one way to become more “known” and that could be good whether it’s loved or loathed.
Big W. Bug = FIX asap. I am about to burst from reading the baby rage comments by bug abusers Will come back to read the new replies every 4 hours. Bug abusers truely in shambles .
