Did you actually just suggest that reducing the multiplier on a skill from 4 to 2 is a nerf, but from 40 to 4 is NOT a nerf? Did I actually just read that? I’m sorry to tell you, but that is the very definition of delusional. Obviously, both are nerfs. But let’s set aside your delusion for a moment and ask a different question. You mentioned “the difference” between those two, right? Okay, if you want to look at it in those terms, let us ask who might be the best person or people to determine that difference? Who knows the game best? Who would be the ultimate authority on all things Last Epoch? If there is one opinion that actually matters, whose opinion would that be? That is right, EHG’s. So, let’s now remember what their conclusion was on this. Did they conclude that this would fall under their stated NERFING policy (no mid-league nerfs) or that it would NOT fall under their stated NERFING policy? That’s right, they concluded that it fit UNDER THEIR NERFING POLICY. Therefore, the final verdict is, if YOU must create a dichotomy where it is one or the other, then it is a NERF, end of story. And my view is exactly their view. So don’t come at me calling ME delusional.
You are really unbelievable. let me phrase it in caps like you do so you will maybe understand it:
IT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO DO 40%. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO 4% LIKE THE TOOLTIP SAID AND LIKE IT WAS INTENDED TOO. THERFORE THIS WAS A BUGFIX AND NOT A NERF. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT. PLEASE GET IT.
I’m sorry that you could not exploit high corruption on your lvl97 warlock yet but that is no reason to be this mad.
SOMETHING CAN BE BOTH A BUG FIX AND A NERF. A NERF IS SIMPLY A REDUCTION IN POWER. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT. PLEASE GET IT.
No it is not a nerf if it was never supposed to do that much in the first place, it is a bugfix. I know it is hard to understand as a meta clown bugabuser but the majority of the playerbase voted in favor of fixing such bugs asap. Except a couple of clowns in this thread crying their eyes out for days now because they don’t have a big advantage over everybody else anymore. Just pathetic.
I’m sorry, but words have meaning.
What did the DEVELOPERS say about it originally?
Our current stance is that we won’t issue mid-cycle changes for balance, such as with Profane Veil’s Vampiric Blood node. While the node is much stronger than intended, it’s not causing performance issues and so it will instead be changed with the next cycle patch. This stance is of course open to feedback, it’s not carved in stone. If there’s high demand to fix bugs or make changes that affect balance mid-cycle, we can adjust.
Well, what just is a nerf?
to reduce the effectiveness of (a character, weapon, skill, etc) in order to achieve a greater competitive balance
https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/nerf
Yes, a bug fix CAN be a nerf.
And since we’ve established that you have no clue what you’re talking about, let me also point out that I have NEVER played a warlock build in this game of any type. In fact, not a single skill I use on my ONLY character, a Spellblade, has had a nerf this cycle.
Enjoy your night on your lvl99 spellblade talking about people bugabusing high corruption levels. Seems like you really have clue what you talking about
So you are saying everyone should play something crappy like your storm totem shaman to make sure that they wont get their character bug-fixed mid-cycle?
Thats one way to force build diversity i guess.
I just want to point out a few issues. your last part about the people crying isnt helping. A big point that I think is constantly been over looked by people is the fact that it feels to me that a majority of people online saw streamers or youtube videos about a build and that using ward was OP and came crying to EHG. Then shortly after EHG cave into the people crying. Yes, I will say its those people crying because at the end of the day it doesn’t hurt the community there are way more issues out there than this skill that wasn’t mention having an effect on the servers. Using an example of the falconer that they said was having an effect on the servers. I don’t know for sure but we have to take the word for it. Even then it shouldnt of been changed and waited.
I’m still new with the game but this change does feel like a step in wrong direction. For a few reasons. The biggest one I can see is the fact that people didn’t know about the survey. Let alone the fact that you needed a google account to even fill it out. Which looks like you don’t even need to have the game to vote , yes I checked. So even those numbers could be skewed the wrong way. Would also like to point out that people that enjoy something aren’t often going to leave any type of positive feed back but the few they dont like something will most likely leave feed back. Moving on I would like add the fact that some people will come and go and move on if they haven’t already even before this change, because the market of people don’t stick to one game that long. Now with the changes you have made put a split on the community because of the outcry of this one group and now that will cause more people to leave the ones playing with that skill. For the few people that say good and act elite get over yourself this is a game the more people sticking around the better. Chances are that if this change didn’t come more people would of stayed longer but because of it they aren’t.
With the change in stance it doesn’t feel good to stay because now more skills could be on the chopping block because people cried about or changed under the same pretenses. That’s a fact because of EHG made the change. I didn’t even like the veil skill and this change has taken a lot a toll on my view of the game. Its been mentioned before that the first cycle is going to be buggy but to nerfs or change to skills are were not to be changed during a “cycle” or season. In between cycles would of been best because there is going to be changes made anyways. Most people that play arpgs understand that there would be skills and passive fixes nerfs and buff to be done at that time anyways.
Last I want to say EHG is that I enjoy their game. I hope they do stick to not making any more changes like they said because its an early part of the game and it would suck for the game to not survive. I enjoyed the game play and story a lot hoping that next cycle will add more to it.
Well, I didn’t know it was crappy before finding out (as I said i don’t follow build guides).
But the point is you were purposely using a broken build that - again - was broken due to a bug and not to an undiscovered clever iteration or bad numbers tuning. As someone pointed out before, that skill was NEVER designed to provide 40% of something baseline, it’s not a tooltip error, it’s a bug in-game.
Of course the result is a nerf, this is undeniable, but it’s not a balance pass, they fixed that bug.
You are upset because your “hard work” got screwed, but imagine for example how people interested in leaderboards felt knowing that their builds could not compete only because of that bug.
How about fixing the bug that causes the health bar above players to not work in offline mode?
I wish i did not update my game because without that setting ward builds in HC are pretty much unplayable. I can’t believe this is still not fixed, apparently this bug is already 2 weeks old.
A balance change is a bugfix aswell. A bug is anything that deviates from its intended state.
You can say the same thing to all of the overperforming Falconeer builds.
If EHGs stated goal is that all skills and classes perform equally well, within some small deviaton, by this precedent the logical conclusion is to bugfix the overperforming Falconeer builds ASAP.
Their “hard work” will be lost aswell. And people like you can defend EHG and bugfixes midcycle to crying Falconeer players in the next thread. Perfect drama cycle.
You are seriously crying that you had to invest 100 million in the first week? Most people who play legitimately for months don’t reach that amount. Go F7$ yourself.
Everyone has certainty about their builds that isnt abusing a bug actually o.0
Cool. Can we now get a statement about the massive FPS drops many people have been experiencing?
Path of Exile has been releasing leagues for nearly a decade now and have learned their lesson about mid-league balance. You don’t need a survey of the smallest, most-vocal user group to tell you that mid-cycle balance is just a bad idea for the health of the game. I understand if something is causing server stability issues but that isn’t the issue here. “No mid-league balance” may not be the popular sentiment but its clear and concise and doesn’t lead to any additional confusion. Your new stance is just an absolute mess and you should definitely reconsider.
I’m also saying this as someone who has not been adversely affected by any of the changes but who also understands that this will damage the longetivy and public sentiment about the game.
No, you don’t understand. My point is, if your playing the bugged build and it bothers you, swap to something else. If your not playing the bugged build, than what does it even matter to you?.. Also, why is this the focus, when there’s mobs like sacred blooms targeting you from 2-3 screens away.? Both bugs are a simple tweak of numbers, yet nerfing builds is more important.
The game just released, they should balance the game more then they currently are but they arent, all because grown ass people start crying.
They are fixing bugs. The end. Dont exploit bugs and youre fine. Just get actually creative and look for actual interactions, instead of abusing a typo.
Please fix visual effect of skills like Decay aura and time bubbles, they are berely visible on the sceeen no metter what graphic settings u use.
