Upcoming Bugfixes to overperforming Builds

honestly a bit sad to see this. don’t’ even play warlock but you should never nerf mid league. reddit and forum users have always been a loud vocal minority of every game out there and making decisions based on the mob is not good for a game in the long run. less worried about this one and more worried about what this means in the future every time the reddit babies get crying about something. Devs having a backbone stance was a good thing.

Right now falconer is actually overtuned. In other words its op. A dev on live stream had said they over tuned falconer.

Like i said c tier doesnt mean a build still cant do 300 corruption which i have done with multi shot. 300c is the target goal when it comes to balance build power. If builds are under preforming those builds wouldnt be able to do that high of content.

In my book if a build can do around 300-400c that isnt under preforming imo

How much time from releast is gone? 3 weeks? Okey, first week they spend on servers. The game is full of bugs. So i suppose that have to be some people which doing even or only small bug fixing. You know - i dont see serious updates during this time. Like was fixed 0,0001% of bugs from release. Some bugs exist YEARS. With such temp of development/bug fixing this game will not live long. Was so much “noise” about 1m of copy and the game still full of bugs. I cant play build which i want because of bug. My wraithlord white iccon is making me upset everytime ,cause may be they will not fix it ever. A lot of streamers abusing 2h weapons with offhand. Summary - its start looking not like serious project and “we wanna make best arpg”, but joke and comedy instead. Im not asking about tomorrow, but i also dont see everyday patches.

I count 4 patches and 3 hotfixes since release. I also want to hear from the developers more, but you’re acting like no patches have been released in three weeks.

Ok where we going with this? IM ok with bug fix but if we start nerfing mid season we have problem. Survey will always say to nerf coz ppl never gona be happy that someone else build do better. Now there is hype about LE so we have ppl voting who gona disepper with next new game or get bored after couple of hours… Ppl who gona play every seson and accculy be responsible for keeping game alive gona have problem with nerfs mid season coz its gona limit content shared and creation of new builds(fear of nerf). Whats the point to start new season with strong build if its gona be nerfed? Whats the point of playing at all if in two weeks U might not have builld to play at all? We r on thin ice atm. Pls tread lightly. With regards Const

And the wraith that are teleporting when unable to move ^^

So who are you to speak for the rest of them?

Again, where did I do that?

You seem to have a reading comprehension problem. I stated that they did NOT ask the majority of players. That’s it, nothing else. I made no statement about how the majority would have voted, nor did I claim they would have voted the same way that I did.

Hey genius it’s doesn’t affect me. I don’t even use ward in my builds and I main rouge. Try reading comprehension, my point stands.

Again, it’s a bug fix. It was never intended, therefore it’s a bug. In this case it’s purely bug fix and zero balancing. It would only be a balancing fix if it indeed was intended to do as it was. It would only really matter to balance it out if it wasn’t a self-competitive game where the drive to compete comes from within the player community itself. But it absolutely does matter in this case because it was a bug.

  1. Yes, I’m sure he’s aware. I’m also sure you’re aware that no one ever wants to use that function, because it means their character was weaker than it was the day before. That’s a bad feeling.

  2. The game does not need to be balanced around anything as it’s essentially a single-player game with zero competitive aspect. Their reaching 2k+ corruption makes no impact whatsoever on the build you’ve chosen to play.

  3. The time invested is not time that they will ever get back. Regardless of how justified you think it is, losing that time is not a good feeling. It’s a bad one.

  4. Sure, this seems valid. But I have a feeling you (and everyone else here) would be annoyed if they woke up tomorrow and had their character weakened because of a bug that they might not have known existed. Not all of the bugs that are going to be fixed because of this precedent will be as obvious as the Profane Veil one. It will be a bad feeling.

At the end of the day, a game developer should make choices that limit the number of bad feelings their userbase experiences. This precedent – and I say this even if this isn’t necessarily a bad decision – is going to lead to more bad feelings than it does good feelings.

Personally, I’m not looking forward to having to play every season worrying that my character is too strong. What if it’s because of a bug? If it is, hours and hours of my time may be flushed right down the drain because of something completely outside of my control. That’s a bad feeling!!!

This is such a silly pedantic argument. Yes, you’re right, it’s a bug fix. We all know that. We all know it technically isn’t a “nerf.”

But the end result is the same. You log in, your character is weaker than it was the day before. Argue all you want about the terminology, but the character has been nerfed/weakened/balanced/insert word here.

By then you will have some knowledge of the game and past experience to compare with. Don’t get upset with thinking your time was wasted on something that was bugged. If you enjoy the game, it’s a good excuse to start a freshy. The clock is ticking away no matter what.

So now we need balance changes. Instead of focusing on real problems, you guys trying to balance mid-season. And of course you are focused on “broken” stuff, but not literally broken stuff. Some of which i seen on reddit being posted like a year ago.

Okay then, nothing to do here. Why bother - if almost everything is broken, all your time and passion can and will go to waste.

It’s very silly. It’s also silly if it ruins your day that your character is actually performing as it should. It’s definitely not 3k ward strong now, but it’s definitely not weak, it’s just working properly now.

Can you put out a survey and ask if I am worthy of getting decent drops for my runemaster class and build or is it just a bug to be fixed later if everyone thinks it’s ok then thank you.

nice!

I don’t think the degree matters as much as you, personally. I don’t think that leaderboards are important, but I’ll use them to illustrate my point. If the best build is 5% better than the other builds, the top of the leaderboard is going to be full of that one, singular best build. If the best build is 40% better, well, the leaderboard is still going to be full of that one, singular best build.

It’s a wash.

Further, I think that this precedent is significantly worse for a player like you than it is for ones that are more hooked in to the community.

The mathematics involved in how damage/ward/etc numbers are calculated is not simple. FAR from it. If you stumble upon a broken interaction, you probably won’t even realize it. Yes, the Profane Veil one is quite large, so there’s a higher chance that someone would have noticed it, but it’s still far from guaranteed because of how obtuse the mathematics are.

So then you put time into your character. A few weeks go by, you’re pushing up to 300 corruption or whatever. You wake up the next day and you can’t do 300 corruption. You wonder why. Check the forums, check the discord, see some patch notes. Turns out you were using a bugged interaction the whole time! Sorry chap, you’re hosed, and it’s because of something completely outside of your control.

You are not going to feel good, I’d wager.

Dear devs,

I voted the other way (NOT to fix bugs mid-cycle even if they break balance), but that’s OK. I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing this with transparency and community feedback. Even if the majority disagreed with me, it was really nice to see the process work itself out

Thank you so much for all your hard work. Loving the game and looking forward to classes getting better over time!
