Upcoming Bugfixes to overperforming Builds

So for those questions: Why are you asking them? Are you expecting an answer or just making a point? My guess is they are rhetorical, but I can actually answer them somewhat anyway, so here goes.

  1. You find out when it’s mentioned. It’s as simple as that. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but there can’t be any other answer, unfortunately.
  2. You have to determine if your time is wasted yourself. In this case, the characters affected are still going to be rather strong, just not nearly as much as before. I can personally attest that my own permutation of this was strong without even using the bugged interaction. It still is, and in fact there are still bugs holding back it’s full strength I kind of wish they would fix. That’s beside the point.

So, if it’s a waste of time, you’ll know, because you’ll make that deliberation for yourself.

As for what was stated about mid-cycle changes:
They did indeed say they would not do this. However, in the directly following part of the same post where they said this, they said it is not set in stone and they were open to feedback about it. They proceeded with that survey that is mentioned here, and since they got feedback apparently telling them players wanted this change, they made it. Blame us, I guess? Personally, even though I agree with the fix, I wouldn’t have done it, because it makes things more messy than necessary. The issue was already in the process of settling down and would probably have blown over. I like that they fixed it, but I hope in the future this kind of fix happens like day one or two of the cycle and no later. Or better yet, that they manage to catch these problems in testing. That’s wishful thinking. I’m a developer in my own right, I already know I’m not going to catch everything like this. I could have a whole army of testers, and bugs like this will get through. It just happens and you have to deal with it the best you can. They goofed by not actually having or sticking with a solid stance, in my opinion.

Nice. People consciously abusing bugs and exploits should not be endorsed in any way. This just ruins the fun for the rest.
Also plz fix the cheater based market economy. Gold dupers buy out the entire rare gear stock and prices are out of hand. They should all get permabans if they are purposely doing it.

Lol it’s safe to assume that a build on 0 gear shouldn’t be able to push 3000 corruption. Exploiting bugs = cheating. If you make the choice to be a cheater than you shouldn’t be upset at the consequences.

I agree with the fixing of this, but I wouldn’t put people who used this in any league with dupers. It’s not the same intentionality at all, nor is it the same level of legitimacy of gameplay. Here people were playing the game as-is with no rule-breaking. Dupers are intentionally breaking rules and in most cases actively eluding notice where possible so they can continue to do so. These things are not really that alike. Many players doing the warlock thing may have been entirely unaware it was even a bug while they were using it. Especially newer players who would have no context for how high things usually scale for typical LE characters.

Play CoF then, if people more clever than you use builds that are stronger than what you have chosen.

Great, keep the bug fixes coming.

Lets stay on the grounds of reality. With 0 gear you will not even clear empowered monos. People that pushed it to 3k minmaxed quite a bit.

have you played any build around these skills? iv played multishot channeling flurry in no way does that under preform. dancing strike imo is also not under preforming

Disappointed?
Because they WANT to fix unintended skill tree behavior?
You are welcome to leave this game now since you clearly won’t enjoy the normal and better version of it.
And don’t bother keep posting on the forum, since you are done for this league right?

There is a difference between more complicated skill interactions that lead to overperformance (which will get nerfed at the next cycle start as they have said) and a coding error. A rich person exploiting the tax code is fine but when the government changes the laws to inhibit that exploit, you can’t complain. The rich people just find a new way to be “overpowered”

My questions were not rhetorical.

I normally don’t follow forums/reddit and I watch absolutely zero streamers. I will check out build sites and see the videos for gameplay and gameplay only. If it looks fun I will try it out. I have been in discord/forums more because of the 1.0 release and trying to stay up to date.

Currently I am playing Wraithlord. I have previously played the necromancer single Archmage build and had fun. Wraithlord out performs that greatly.

Is Wraithlord out performing because of a bug? Will it be ‘fixed/nerfed’ in the coming weeks because now the warlock bug is fixed? Now the wraithlord is going to draw more attention? Because I sure am ‘exploiting’ a bug at corruption 217. Can’t wait to feel weaker next time I login.

So no, it was not a rhetoriccal question. No, I not have enough time to be part of the 1% gaming all week. Yet somehow I get to feel weaker the next time I login? I really appreciated their stance on NOT having mid cycle changes unless necessary because I just want to play. I want to party with my friends and not worry about following what I can and cannot do because it is a bug, or not a bug.

It is an APRG, it is a PVE game. I now have to be concerned with them wasting my time because I chose poorly. Because I did not follow the news day in and day out. Because I do not follow streamers.

So happy that now the game is 1.0 and it has all the attention in the world they change THEIR philosophy. They change THEIR original stance because of the loud vocal minority that are just going to move onto the next PoE League, or the next new game. Those that have been around knew what to expect and what EHG’s stance was.

really? how about the OSRS devs. they do serveys on even content that gets added to the game. what players want and gets voted for gets put in the game.

a developer thats reaching out to there community means they care. this imo is a sign of a strong and good dev team unlike blizzard

The only thing that doesn’t work is that you say some bugs won’t have any effect on balance, but the profane veil bug has a gigantic effect on balance. Have you seen the leaderboards? It is literally warlocks and falconers. That is it, with an occasional necro here and there. Something that is just overpowered is just what is META at the moment, but something that is bugged should be fixed

The problem with your augment is you argue you don’t watch streamers or follow anything then its safe to assume you follow the game and what it says each skill/item does ingame. Then when a bug is fixed it will stilll do what the item/skill says so it shouldn’t bother you. They are not going around nerfing anything, just fixing UNINTENDED bugs.

You do realize they never said they weren’t going to FIX the bug. Which is what this is, not a nerf, a FIX. They said at the moment they weren’t planning to FIX the bug, but were open to feedback. Then they did the survey, and the feedback overwhelmingly said to FIX the bug. You are the one that missed the signs and chased the OP lazy build. EHG did nothing wrong

Nice, taking streamers and their fans opinions over the majority of the player base that doesn’t even care about it getting fixed until cycle end, or at all. Top 1% always wins. Can’t wait to see all the new faces on the arena leaderboards! Oh yeah, no one cares about arena. Still a great game, and I am VK warpath, just don’t see the point in making people having fun leave the game cause you guys left a bug in. Do it at the end of the cycle.

nghee ngheee… they fixed a bug and I can’t play my broken build anymore! ngheeeee!

Hilarious!

Nerf to the ground? Warlock?

Your ground is pretty high I see…

You are not really playing this game or even warlock right?
You think warlock is garbage tier now?
How many hours have you study this class? Sounds like really lack of creativity.

Goodbye then, enjoy your other major ARPG, this game isn’t for you.

No. It isn’t a problem with my argument. I literally said I follow a guide. They say put a point here, I put a point there. I do not pay attention to the tool tips. I find a guide that looks good and I follow the skill/passive tree. I look at a video it looks cool, I do it. Since there are hundreds of thousands of people playing, I think it is safe to assume I am not the only one that does it this way.

1%ers have more pull than the 99% as usual. Streamers > all.
