Upcoming bug-fix to Ballista

I’m sure you’re part of the testing team and knows exactly how the build is performing in the tests you guys are running before making the change.
Sorry.

This skill was tested in the pre-release. No idea about the nerfed version that is coming in days tho

the buld is still viable, if you lower the corruption

I heard Blizzard had their D4 designers play The Last Epoch to learn how to make their game better, of course, it’s just a rumor.

But now I declare that they are doing useless work.

You have learned all their dross!

As it is on 1k hp and not being able to kill all the enemies on the screen? Yeah you have to lower the corruption from 2k to 200-300. I don’t think it’s worth.

Then he would have to play with the plebs in the sewage area of corruption, where all the non-meta casuals dabble

That’s the vibe I get from him, since he tells people who haven’t played a lvl 100 build that they aren’t entitled to have an opinion about this.

hahahah yeah it stinks down there

Glass cannons are supposed to be high-risk gameplay, with a high reward payoff. High damage and mobility, and it’s up to player skill (and to a degree, luck) to survive. You’re not supposed to be invincible. If you take away any risk or challenge for a build, then why even play the build?

For that matter, if that’s the gameplay you want, why not just play offline and use a trainer? And, just because people hit 2k+ corruption on bugged builds doesn’t mean that should be the baseline. It also doesn’t mean that a build is trash or dead just because it can’t hit that number.

but what the difference in corruption number? afaik the drop rates caped at 300 so there is no any advantage in drops. or i missed something?

Do you know how you can see if a build is s*1t? It floats atop without taking any effort. Your build was improved.

Now you need to put actual effort into playing the game, it’s no longer just a multi-hundred hours time sink

I personally died a lot on this build, you are not invincible by any mean and so you have to play very carefully dodging projectiles and keeping your silver shroud always up. The mobility is also very bad since you don’t have the luxury to invest in movement speed and cooldown reduction except at very high end.

it keeps scaling with no diminishing return. who told you that there is a cap at 300?

sorta kinda.

The reason it soft caps is its not item quantity that gets improved, lets say every boss drops 10 items. Eventually all those items are unique/exalted thanks to rarity. Going up in corruption wont give you more exalted/uniques as its baseline drop amount isnt going up.

Rarity is not linear it eventually just means every item is exalted/unique and you cant improve from there.

Then its just about getting lucky with the correct affixes. Thats not to say it caps at 300 imo.

just that it does have diminishing returns to a degree.

can be, what i can see is that the rarity and experience multipliers have some sort of a linear multiplier with the corruption level. At 2000% not all the items are exalted or uniques. There are many rares that you can sell well in mg.

and what the difference in yor playstyle with the fix? will not it be even more challenge? i saw agromorph playing this build and it is just casting ballista on every step, but now you will need more ballista per step to predict every enemies spots? isn’t it more challenge for you? i just don’t get the point of your playstyle, is it about overpowered or about challenge?

Much Better than a dozen of more vocal posters …

I don’t know if you are just trying to show off…
Many around here have a couple of chars at level 100 and play the game and give feedback for months & years.
It’s odd that you are a pro gamer and cant foresee how this things work.

Anyone around here long enough could have predicted sooner or later that interaction of one shooting enemies off the screen would not be accepted. You can twist words all day blaming others players or devs but they acted accordingly to their past actions.
Doesn’t matter if the bug existed before, noone really played or cared enough about ballistas before, that’s how things work.

I’m sorry about you being tired, but it’s your fault to put yourself in this position. You act like a pro but can’t see obvious things?
To be fair the radius vs area of effect thing isn’t the one obvious thing.
What was clear as Crystal is that shooting enemies off the screen is not something the game would like to offer players. It breaks almost every aspect of patterns and game design.
It was absolutely enormous aoe, far beyond anything else. And with enormous damage.
This was the obvious thing. Really hard to believe that you as a pro player failed to notice it was not normal and that probably some action would be taken against it.

Bye… Next

from some guy in the discord (not the official), he said that devs caped it at 300 because the 300 was their target corruption for the most builds, and as i saw at several streams theres is only difference in number of yellow items, that’s all. do you use the advantage of number of yellow items to sold them at MG?

Yeah it’s not balanced. I like to play overpowered builds because i can farm more loot and make more improvements on the build.
If I had known it was buggy and would be nerfed I would have played something else.

I don’t care about challenge, i do personally care about improving my build to get more loot to improve my build to get even more loot.

I see, the main income comes from good exalted bases, even more income if you want to dedicate some effort in actually craft em.
A good part of income is also from yellow items if you manage to make a decent loot filter, kinda hard since the 75 rules limit is not a good design to play mg effectively.
Idols too, kinda annoying tho
