Upcoming bug-fix to Ballista

Not about me being bored, it’s that you think this is some big, end of Last Epoch issue. It isn’t. Acting like it is is simply dishonest. You can voice your concern about it without ranting on about how there’s some evil being done on the players of Last Epoch since EHG decides they’d like to make changes based on feedback they go out of their way to ask for.

You’re reaching like…way far away.

How do you think a person would feel seeing their efforts thwarted? This is a blatant INJUSTICE.

Your histrionics about “INJUSTICE” aside, how are people’s “efforts thwarted”? They are correcting a level of power that resulted from a bug and was never supposed to be possible. Resulting in a build that went from absurdly strong to still “very strong”.

If the development team is COMPETENT they must do EVERYTHING they can to ensure the best outcome within their means until release and no later.

Who are you to say that this team is not doing that? But hey, you know so much better than them after having joined less than a week ago, feel free to educate them on how to fix their game so that everything is in perfect balance with zero bugs.

Otherwise you just get a bland game with constant balancing updates and a periodic release of updates that you would like to call “CYCLE” but which has nothing of a cycle because classes and skills are balanced every week and the sense of freshness and substantial change is lost. In the meantime you have done nothing but displease small slices of players, slice after slice until only those who like to do 2 builds a week are left.

Yeah, but like…no balance changes have been made. Removing a bugged level of power that was never supposed to be possible and leaving what is still a very viable build is not a balance change.

I never talked about any evil being. Mid league changes affecting an estabilished meta hurting unaware players investments in a build is always been a big issue in the genre and will hurt LE as it did other games in the past.

Your testimony, Mr. T3SH, is that this that you have said on these very forums was not you saying EHG was taking INJUST measures? The very thing I was referring to and emphasized with “evil,” a word synonymous with “injustice”?

Already answered to this, read the thread

I’m nobody, but they are doing changes in an ongoing league affecting the balancing of it.

Again, you should read the thread so you can understand that the main issue is not because of this specific build being nerfed.

Dude, why do you keep avoiding the word BUG, conveniently swapping it for “mid league changes” thinking all of us here are stupid?
Seriously, I’ve read ALL you silly posts, and you never mentioned the word BUG even once.
You keep circling the same place, trying to imply they made any changes when they instead FIXED A BUG.

I’m almost Pewpewing you, geez. (Yes, I created this verb to represent when someone uses pewpewpewpewpew’s filter to block some brat in the forums)

Injustice: Lack of justice and equity; violation of the rights of another or others; iniquity; wrong; unfairness; imposition.

I don’t know why are you talking about evil beings sorry.

You can also check synonyms on Google. It’ll show “evil” there.

This thread is so much fun and all the beach boys tears make it even more enjoyable!

And you guys are using the words like cheaters and exploiters like we were aware that the bug in the node and we were aware of the bug and were maliciously taking advantage of it. There were 0 information about this bug, no online discussions. Nobody thought it was not working as intended.
Yeah i personally didn’t measure the monitor with a ruler to investigate.
It was my job? No it wasn’t.
Did i lost time in this build? Yes.
Will i make runemaster and spend 2 more weeks to push again to 2k corruption? No
Why? Because i’m scared that it could be nerfed aswell for a bug that i personally can’t find.

Claims to be engaged in debate in this thread, doesn’t follow own advice on reading before posting, and has only cop out responses any time their arguments are challenged

backs away slowly

Good day, human.

But the build isn’t dead. You just can’t offscreen anymore. The damage is still there, you just have to aim your abilities. Your gameplay is so minimally effected by this change, yet you let it decide so much for you.

Glad to see the development team finding and fixing these things. Trivial full screen clears don’t belong in an ARPG.

The rest of the whiners can go play vampire survivor.

Not at all… Rather the opposite.
No one ever said you or anyone using any bugged skills are maliciously doing so.
But when you choose to start inflaming the forums, getting way outta line pointing fingers, using ad-hominem trying to invalidate others opinions, judging Devs intentions and capacities just because they FIXED A BUG after having a survey on it, then yes, you are being very malicious.
And if you’re asking for a company to NOT FIX A BUG because you want to take advantage of it, then yes, you’re also a cheater and an exploiter.

From now on I’ll always write it in capitals when I see someone trying to pull that “mid season changes” joke when they FIX A BUG. Maybe that way you’ll understand after some repetition.

What’s the difference between radius and area? I would expect them to mean the exact same thing.

Tried searching this thread to see if anyone else had asked/answered this but didn’t see anything directly explaining it.

If you think gameplay is minimally affected and damage will be the same then you’re delusional. The whole build revolved around oneshotting mobs before they could touch you. Now they will fight back and if you do the same build (glasscannon) they simply oneshot you everytime, so you gotta sacrifice damage for defensive stats now.

Ah man, you can’t cheese the game anymore!? Sorry bud

The area of a circle is defined by the formula “A = π r²” which reads: “Area equals Pi x radius squared”.

Just for making things simpler to understand, lets ignore Pi and pretend Area=Radius Squared:

Addin random numbers just as an example - if Ballista base radius is 10, we would have its total area being 100, then if it gets increased by 150% area effect from that node we would end up with a 250 area ballista. (Area = 10x10 = 100/+ 150% = 250).
Now if instead of +150% area ballista had +150% increased radius from that node we would have a base radius of 25 (10+150% = 25) and would end up with 625 area ballista (Area = 25x25 = 625).

No offense, but it’s just high school math.

Edits: adding some better formatting, so Kulze doesn’t flag me there

I’m not even playing falconer, just stating how things will work for that build now.

Informationally

Its been 25 days since release.

  • To put 300 hours into the game since 1.0, you would have needed to play 12 hours a day consistently. If you include an 8 hour full time job that would leave you 4 hours a day to sleep (not including weekends).
  • To put 400 hours into the game since 1.0, you would have needed to play 16 hours a day consistently. If you include an 8 hour full time job that would leave you 0 hours a day to sleep (not including weekends).
