Unplayable

This game has been unplayable since I upgraded to a better PC. I am unable to run the game for more than a few minutes before it freezes. Reinstalling the game seems to allow me to play one time without issue before continuing to lock up again. I’ve tried both the Steam and standalone client. I still have zero issues on my PC that is over 6 years old, but it can’t run at all on a newer mid-high end PC.

This development has become a joke since I last checked in on September and zero issues with this have been resolved. The issue is only with your game.

As you havent provided any player.logs/le_graphicsmanager.ini/dxdiag reports, I have zero idea of what your setup is or if the game is reporting any issues that can be used to figure out what is going on.

Another aspect to this issue, based on my experience helping out on the forums and playing the game fine on relatively old hardware (i5-7500/1060/16gb/nvme), is what happens when people get a new machine is that they have an expectation that the game will function at higher resolutions/higher quality and framerates on their shiny new hardware - unfortunately this expectation doesnt match the current beta and unoptimised state of the game and this disconnect enduces rage and frustration. Previously on their older system using more conservative settings, the game ran fine… so the expectation is that pushing the game on newer hardware should produce better, but all that does is highlight the general lack of optimisation in what is an unfinished and still in development application.

Besides the expectation disconnect, there are also many possible causes for issues that either have workarounds or fixes, but unless you are willing to provide more information, no one is going to be able to even try and help.

I’ve already been assisted in September, the game is permanently unplayable. My new system can’t run this game for longer than a few minutes. Searching on Google provides many instances of high end PCs unable to run this game. I’ve found zero solutions to solve the issue and the forum help was just generic advice.

Limit FPS - done
Lower Settings - done
Check firewall/antivirus- done
Repair files - done
Reinstall - done
Update graphics card - done
Change display output - done
Wait several months for an update that works - done

Play on mediocre PC with vastly inferior hardware at much higher settings - works

There are enough players with high end pc bragging in chat, so it does work.

Im using potatoe gtx770m and game runs properly.

Perhaps you should check with them, since high end pc has more or less the same setup 1030 graphic card bla bla bla

1030 graphics card? Like one step up from using the onboard graphics card?

It’s clearly an issue solely with this game. It doesn’t matter what the game settings are, it simply does not run without freezing within minutes. The only time it works for more than a few minutes is with a clean reinstall and I don’t want to do that every single time.

If its so much trouble and theres no solution, i would have played something else.

Well, whatever help you received in September last year is probably at least 1 maybe 2 versions ago so there are any number of changes in the game that might impact on what is going on… There are also plenty of other possible causes beyond what you have listed that might initiate freezing after playing the game for a period of time.

There are thousands of people playing this game every day on a wide range of hardware ranging from absolute potatoes running at 720p ( I salute them) to systems with 3090’s playing at 4k in Ultra (I envy them).

If you are unwilling to provide the logs etc then I would recommend you simply uninstall the game and wait until it is officially launched (with version 1.0) and out of beta/early access and the devs have optimised the game.

RTX 3080 running at only 60 fps on 1920x1080 display, i7-11700k, 32 GB of RAM, and can’t run the game on the lowest possible settings for more than 5 minutes without freezing and possibly not responding.

The issue is this game. The developers clearly need to fix it.

You could pretend that it’s not but when literally every other game runs perfectly at Ultra settings and I can’t play this on the lowest possible settings, there is a problem with the game. It works perfectly on my outdated PC.

I dont really want to argue with you - the game is in beta and is unoptimised and has issues… but I would like to highlight one logical contradiction here:

You say the problem is this game and not your hardware/system setup/config/any number of variables that may be unique to your situation.

Yet: “It works perfectly on my outdated PC.”

so Logically how can it “only” be the game that is at fault?

The game is beta, it is unoptimised, it has performance issues, it has bugs, its not finished, each players unique setup can impact on the game and its performance.

Honestly, reading between the lines here, you are far too stressed about this, its just a game… I recommend you uninstall and forget about it until its launched officially with the full completed product… If it still doesnt work then, then you can take it up with EHG directly through proper support channels.

I’m not stressed. I abandoned the game for months because it didn’t work. A couple updates later and it still does not work. Providing feedback for other players that the game is currently broken for some users. You can find the same issues by searching Google.

This issue is the game on this PC, so there is no contradiction. It is clearly something out of my control if every solution changes nothing and every other game has no issues. It is completely unplayable even at the lowest possible settings on a PC well above the minimum requirements. I could troubleshoot all the same suggestions that someone on these forums is going to provide.

You aren’t tech support and I didn’t ask for help again. You are right about one thing, it is in Beta. My point still stands that is that it is unplayable currently until the developers fix it.

You haven´t provided any logs/reports with real data which could help develeporers with troubleshoot/fix.

BTW , Vapourfire is far more better and helpfull than most of tech supports for many SW/HW companies.

This is the tech support forum. If you don’t want help, stop posting. If you are just complaining, nobody here cares. That’s not the purpose for these forums.

If they use the logs then they have the one’s I provided previously. It’s the same issue persisting more than 5 months later. I’m not going to provide the same information to get the same help from people that don’t know what they are doing. They ask for feedback on the launch screen of the game, so here is the feedback. Technical support wasn’t able to fix the issue, it persists 5 months later, and it appears they don’t have actual staff using these forums.
