Oh god I forgot about those guys. They were horrendous at first as well as the Capra Demon ambush (who I didn’t die to the first time, but he was intense).
I raged quit D3 when they started making everything easier and easier and the game got boring. So yes, from my data at least 1 person rage D3 so your garuntee is false.
I don’t believe you, you can certainly put your battle.net tag and I’ll look you up…
But you must really hate everything but bosses in this game because to beat bosses… everything else is just a ridiculous waste of time
You don’t believe I played and quit D3 and want my battle.net tag for proof? Are you a scammer or something? What a ridiculous request.
On the other hand my first attempt ever at Lagon I died, the second I killed him. My second playthrough I face tanked all his abilities in the campaign and normal monoliths. Even in empowered monos at 500 corruption I can take a hit from his beam and the “strategy” is literally just running back and forth. His moves are telegraphed and obvious. I AFK brain him at this point.
So Im calling for a buff for Lagon. Hes not nearly hard enough. Hes nothing compared to T4 Julra.
You don’t have to prove it… i get it… you want to SAY things and not justify it. And it’s great you completely gloss over everything else. I’m not, no… but I believe you are a placed sycophant.
You can call for it… what about all the other minion things. Can we just remove them… because they don’t matter… they are just time wasters at this point. May as well be just bosses.
Welcome to my ignore list. I am not giving you private information to prove I played a game and quit it. You’re a troll and possibly a scammer.
How is battle net private… anyone who plays the game and comes across you can see it… it’s as private as your tags. Why do you keep telling on yourself?
It’s really clumsy of them.
No portal to reach the boss after the long way…
When I saw that, I was desperate not to have to do it all over again, not funny!!!
For the difficulty level, it’s a bit too early. The steps are high, so you’ll need good equipment. Especially life and regeneration.
As many have said, it blocks the players.
But the WORST thing is that the reward is LAMENTABLE afterwards!
We should have received a legendary or at the very least some exalted, frankly
At least for the first time we succeed!
After all, I can understand why you’d want to avoid abuse, but this is just stingy grrr!
I don’t know if they realize that this is a boss with 0 replayability.
There’s no point in doing it again.
From campaign Lagon? If you want “proper” drops (ie, uniques or exalteds), that’s what monos are for. Campaign is mostly too low level for exalteds (lvl 50-something & above).
Agreed with OP.
The campaign is piss easy, nothing challenges you.
This game gaslights players into thinking their build is good, and then Lagon reveals all of your build’s flaws to you at once.
The problem isn’t that Lagon is hard. I think his difficulty level is fine.
The problem is the lack of difficulty progression leading up to it, as OP said. It’s no wonder people come into Lagon unprepared.
Yup, I agree completely.
So true, when I’m playing campaign, it’s all ok. But I stumbled upon a wall at act 8, and a wall I mean is : Lagon!!!
I was wasted at least 10 -15 times when I first tried him, after I figured out the way to beat him, and upgraded my resists a bit hes now just another easy Boss… Google will tell you how to beat him easy if u care to look.
almost 2 months later but came here to say that the only people complaining about it are the ones with skill issues. So just get good.
Thank you for replying directly to me with your toxic comment. Your comment will be thrown in the trash, as it deserves.
Since we’re dredging this up again, I guess I have an update. I decided to create a new character, and went with a paladin this time. Granted, I did have the benefit of some leveling uniques that I wouldn’t have on a fresh cycle, but Lagon was very noticeably easier, which supports what I was saying earlier - that Lagon’s difficulty varies greatly depending on what class you’re playing.
I can see an argument for EHG not wanting to change Lagon’s difficulty, since it’s the player’s choice to pick the class they did. Given this, I suppose I can now echo what someone else said - that EHG may want to do more to ramp up the difficulty leading up to Lagon. That ramp up may not be as noticeable for classes like Sentinel, but will hopefully be noticed by the other classes to prepare them before hitting them with Lagon.
It may be useful to introduce a quest before Lagon, where an NPC advises the player that the quest will test their defenses so that it’s clearly spelled out to the player what’s happening and why.
To that last point: I remember reading an article a few years ago where a study showed that video games don’t make people violent, but rather that specifically what makes players get mad are games with either (a) unclear objectives, or (b) very bad controls. I remember laughing at that and thinking, “You could’ve saved yourselves a lot of time and money if you’d just asked anybody who grew up playing the first generations of arcade games.”
EDIT: Also, learning (from this thread) that running down the stairs is an option to avoid both attacks and waves did also make the fight easier. If this is something EHG intended, or intends to keep in the game, then they should probably do more to show the player that it’s possible/intended. Having the tentacles come down before the fight, I would’ve never even thought of that as being a safe place, and I can imagine there are many other players who’ve never thought of that either.
Hey guys, here is a thread from 2020 on how to cheese lagon. It’s pretty clear feedback is listened to… Anyways nearly 4 years later and lagon can still be cheesed by standing in 1 location. Good luck to you all!
Thanks for the essay that I didn’t read. Again, you can EASILY not take a single hit even with a bad build. I can send you a video if you want to improve your skill issue in the future. <3
You can cheese the fight as necro by standing in one far corner, as far left and away from him as you can, almost over the steps, and just let the minions kill it. I found this by looking at this thread, the first message Lagon cheese (campaign/Monolith.
Clearly this is wrong, but at least you can progress in the story.
In the second phase, just avoid a few AoE spells and let the minions kill the tentacles. That is not cheesing, as you do have to dodge.
This reminds me of the Diablo 2 Duriel fight which locks you into a small room and you got to stand up and fight. This is a wake-up call in Diablo 2, as until that time you could be cruising and avoiding hard mobs, but again, you can teleport out as often as you like, and let the merc kill him. So, a very hard fight made only possible by cheesing mechanics.
