You do not make enough gold in the game to continue buying tabs for purple and unique items (if you chose the Circle of Fortune,) so when do you stop picking up purples and start cleaning out your inventory?
Just curious cause i got lucky and sold an item for 3m gold when i was in bazaar, so i have inventory… but, those funds have completely dwindled entirely from buying inventory slots to hold my uniques/idols/purples. I can’t even imagine what it would be like if i was with circle of fortune from the beginning.
I think id rather both options to 1) buy more inventory with gold 2) buy quad tabs from cosmetic store. Learn from what’s already been done…
Also, if i want to switch factions, why is it that the gear that I earned in the previous factions becomes un-equipable? Rather than punishing folks for poor design features, put a timer on how often you can switch factions. Never should something I earned become unusable.
It is not unusable. I don’t think it is the devs design vision that you are able to switch on a whim. And you know as soon as they gave in on that the next demand would be to shorten the cooldown, and then get rid of the cooldown, etc blah blah blah. Same old story all the time. No Thanks,
The reason you can’t use CoF gear if you switch to MG or vice versa is the exact same reason you can’t use your legacy stash if you make a cycle character.
I continue buying tabs AND I stop picking up many T6 purples and clean out the inventory and I’m Merchant’s Guild lol. I still think the current system for inventory and stash and loot filter is the best in the ARPG industry and its not even close.
Other games will definitely start emulating it, similar to how every ARPG and MMORPG used Diablo 3’s Smart Loot system.
The loot fitler is by far the best in any AARPG I have ever played. No identifying, on top of the logical implementation and intuitiveness is hands down top notch. No complaints there. POE has the best storage though, no contest. I’d much prefer to buy tabs over buying them with gold that drops sparingly in the game. Both options are optimal. There is no great way to make gold in Circle of Fortune… Arena can be ok for making gold, but thats one of the most boring grinds I’ve ever done.
Yeah gold is a problem but also not a problem cause I sell a TON of items. Important things to consider are the following…
Crafting yellow weapons for low rank Merchants to buy. It’s very easy to craft these since they’ll drop often and you can get 30-120k each depending on the implicits versus the t5s on it.
Knowing which idols sell and putting those affixes on your filter. 4-5% health for example is an easy sell.
Good T6 affixes on gear pieces with 3 affixes ideally (this makes the base easier to craft on thus it is better to sell imho).
Good T7 affixes. If the base has 3 affixes, it is worth even more. If it has a strong implicit and can be used as a potential endgame piece, it’s worth even more.
Don’t do arena for gold, it is awful, feels awful and is boring as heck. High corruption monoliths are the best gold, favor and items hands down and even a single wealth shrine is better than a full arena run lmao.
For example, you can drop stuff in game while you’re leveling that will be of to high a level and at that time is technically unusable. So what do you have to do to make it usable? You have to level to the point you can use it.
Same with factions. You have a MG item but you are CoF. So what you you have to do to make it usable? Switch to MG. or vice versa.
I think what’s eventually going to happen is everyone will get to Lvl 10 in both factions. They’ll have characters they use for each faction. Just more flavor.
Curious, if I hit lvl 70 say playing just CoF, and then switch to MG, does that mean ALL my equipped gear is unusable…? That seems like bad design, as how am I then supposed to get even ‘starter’ gear for a lvl 70 character, while playing naked…? Buy it all on the ML trading post or crap blue/yellows from NPC vendors or…what? 8-/
I stopped storing uniques after LP came out really. If the item doesn’t have LP2 or more, I only keep it if I don’t already have one. I keep at least 1 of each unique, just for the ability to play any build I want.
As for exalteds, I only keep (useful) T7 affixes, or anything with a useful T6 and at least 2 other desired affixes, for LP crafting.
