Stash Tab Pricing (Refunds Please)

Thank you for the lovely price reduction! We would love to be refunded for the tabs we have previously purchased! That is all :upside_down_face:

Refunding in-game gold spent on stash tabs which were bought and used makes no sense. Go farm more gold.

What a bizarre request and take.

I’m in CoF. I sold items to NPC to have gold for tabs. But I don’t want a refund. New rules should not affect the past. In this way, we might want a refund after any change in the game.

What, do you have a mouse in your pocket, or something?

Wildly unnecessary: this is a nice QOL buff they gave us, but gold isnt actually even a tiny bit hard to farm in this game. All you need is a singular endgame character to farm vast VAST amounts of gold.
A 50% reduction in cost is more than enough

I should have definitely made a personal request for only my account to be refunded fake currency. Also, yes.

Do you also request a refund from Nvidia/ATI/Whichever when the price of the graphics card you bought inevatably goes down? Or when your car price goes down? Or any other product you buy that is cheaper some time later? This is both an entitled and ridiculous request.

Dont worry, there is a major group that supports this idea.

I believe you meant Bazaar, as in having extra gold to spend on nominal upgrades at the Merchant’s Guild.

What REALLY makes no sense is this response. If they can’t deliver the same experience to players that started on day one, as those who will begin their journey today, they could simply say:

“This was not an oversight. Rather it is too complicated for us to refund players who have previously purchased additional stash tabs; however, all of your feedback has improved the game for future players. Thank you!”

You conveniently ignored my comment about getting refunds from other products, but I’ll give you even one more example: when Steam inevitably does some autumn sale of similar and sells LE for half price, will you be requesting steam to refund you?

Honestly, this is so entitled that I was surprised your username wasn’t simply Karen.

What a delightful individual! I made a simple request - if they can’t do it, they can’t do it.

They most likely could. Just like Steam can. Or Nvidia. Or any other company. They just won’t. They’re already giving you something by making future tabs cheaper. You’re not entitled to more than that.
If you make that request of any company (heck, even in the supermarket) they will just laugh at you while pointing to the door.

Ok, I love this one, need to remember it

Good to know, in the future I’ll try to take your pocket-mouse into consideration in this case

But yeah, ‘I think…’ would probably be a better starting place for the sentence it imply it comes from your position. Nothing major, miniscule thing… but thanks for the hilarious interaction.

Major?
Where?
Who?
Why haven’t I heard of this major movement yet?
Are they in hiding?
How can I find them, it would definitely be nice to get a bit of extra gold after all, brings me closer to my goals.

This is an implied societal stance in terms of computer games.
You can’t - and shouldn’t strive to actually - provide the same experience as it’s provided day 1 compared to future times.

Will you piss some people off? Sure, absolutely!
Will people feel it’s not ‘for them’ anymore? Absolutely too!

But that’s the way it goes. Enjoy the ride while it lasts, any multiplayer based game sooner or later changes a little in style through one way or another. Some wonky mechanics the majority dislikes gets changed out into something else… the feeling of some skills will shift over time… even bossfights might be adjusted as it goes further along.

As long as the core experience of the game stays the same it’s all fine and dandy, not always for every single one of us specifically the case… but overall that’s how a game evolves over time and becomes better. The worst thing is staying the exact same and getting left behind in this industry.

So no, they don’t need to say any sort of stuff which retroactively refunds choices made at a time when the outcome was still different. It was worth it back then to do… why would that be less now? You used it, you bought it for a reason, you said ‘Yes, with this value I’m fine spending the currency on it’ and did.

Could they’ve done it and gone the extra mile? Absolutely!
Should they? Eh… up to everyone personally.
Why didn’t they? Because it’s extra time investment. If they’d done it though you should’ve massively thanked them for being really really nice though.

Like this I’ll only thank EHG for lowering the prices. So… Thanks EHG! It was a great thing to do.

I mean… the can. Absolutely!
They won’t though, or at least it’s extremely unlikely for them to do it.

I am actually baffled that they even reduced the price. Especially by what huuuuge amount.

I am following and supporting this game for a long time and I cannot comprehend why they did this.

Stash Space was already a non issue for me and with the loot buff though CoF it became a bit more of a thing you need to think about.

Having restricted space made looting way more fun and engaging, because you actually ahve to think about what you gonna loot and what not.

Ah, the reason is that with CoF implemented the acquisition rate of potentially useful items outperformed the price-increase for stash tabs vastly, leading to situations where you get actually useful items you want to keep in such amounts that even with optimal usage of your gold you wouldn’t be able to keep them.

I know a ton of people are junk-hoarders… but this even affected those which were focused on overall progression simply.
It’s especially a issue in HC where you need to keep up with storing items for builds following the fail of your current character, meaning the more variety you’ve available at that time the better your next character can start off as.

But that is exactly where I disagree. being limited was a positive for me, because it made loot matter more and you really needed to think about what you wanna pick up and waht not.

I very often crafted on some items to see if they shape up good or not and if anythign failed (like glyphs of chaos or rune of removals) I just threw the item away. Especially in higher endgame this was part of the fun of looting for me.

I wouldn’t mind if they made the first 10 or 20 stas htabs cheaper, but the margin in which they dumped down the stash price is unreasoanable from my point of view.

Yes, I can absolutely understand your stance there!
And nothing against it, all the power to you, it’s another way to handle the whole situation after all.

But it was clearly designed in mind with ‘You can get enough tabs along the way to keep nearly all items if they have a modicum of usage possible for them’ and they kept that simply in line with the system changes through factions for 1.0

I do the same with a lot of crafting, it’s why I generally stay below 100 glyphs of hope. They’re getting used up at a breakneck speed and lots of items being discarded repeatedly.

In my opinion the change in price wasn’t needed… but I’m also not against it as the end result is that I have more space which pleases my inner loot goblin.

Don’t get why people are ragging on the OP for a respectful and simple request. It’s not long after launch so the fact they made this change sort of implies a miscalculation on their part with respect to stash cost. I don’t think it’s that unreasonable to think they might do a refund of the difference for those who have been spending gold on more expensive stash cost.

All that said the OP didn’t demand it or complain about it so why people are jumping down his throat is a bit uncalled for but I guess everyone loves to be a forum warrior. I wouldn’t mind a refund as well but if they can’t or don’t want to that’s fine as well. Not a big deal either way.
