Screen Tearing/Stuttering

Howdy,

Since the update today my graphics has gone south. The screen is stuttering/tearing

Prior to the patch I was running graphic settings:
FPS limit =30
Background FPS = 30
VSync = off

Graphics were not the best but it ran smoothly and it did not put much strain on my graphics card. This kept my card under 80C

Since the update these same settings does not allow the game to run smoothly. There is massive screen tearing and stuttering. The only graphic settings that allow the game to run smoothly since the update is:

FPS limit = no limit
Background FPS = no limit
VSync = off

Note: If I turn the Vsync on the screen tearing starts to occur again. My card runs about at 92C to support this which is too high.

My equipment:

GTX 3070

ASUS monitor 17 inch 165Hz

Thoughts:

0. For testing purposes, please set your in-game settings to 1080p, 60fps with all settings on very low and special features like shadows , aa on their lowest possible setting and disabled…no vsync… This config is the most stable and if you are still experiencing the tearing etc at this setting then there is likely something else happening/going on.

1. Please post your player.log - there might be something in the debug that could point to it. Please can you also post the output of a dxdiag report - this could indicate something that is happening.

2. Check your GPU driver and consider an update / clean driver installation - especially if its older than 6 months.

3. LE really needs a limit somewhere else it can get unstable/freeze - with your 165hz monitor, this is effectively 165fps in no limit mode… Not sure on your resolution but if its higher than 1080p I doubt your 3070 will be happy at 165fps.

4. Are you using GSync at a driver level? Is your driver running on default settings?

5. Does your monitor have dynamic Hz modes? Sometimes that can affect things.

6. If you are using Steam, Have you done a game verification to ensure its installed properly?

7. Have you tried different window modes? Fullscreen/borderless/windowed I recall about a year or so ago, people using 3080s had some issues depending on windowed mode.

8. Are you running anything at the same time as tyring to play LE? Temporarily do not run anything else - just to see if its affecting things… E.g. my kid has hassles with CoD & it turned out it was Discord chugging the CPU in background. Just disable or dont run anything else while testing…

9. Please check your Windows update and make sure there are no failed updates or pending updates specifically to your hardware…

10. DId anything change on your setup recently? Anything at all… Upgraded / Updates any apps, changed hardware or settings in any way for something else?
