Resetting Echo Web

I got to Corruption 19 and I’ve tried to go to 20 … but it just feels impossible. I’ve said to myself, I should decrease the corruption. So I did, I’ve found a -1 and tried to do it. Impossible to accomplish. Then I went to -5, very impossible to accomplish. So trying to reset by going down in corruption … it was more difficult than going up in corruption.

Is this normal? Should it be less hard resetting by decreasing the corruption? Not being able to reset by decreasing the corruption means the character is bricked? I hope you guys are not going the route POE went were it’s just impossible to play the game.

effectively, there should be a way to downgrade corruption without killing orobis. The way that corruption stacking works, after killing the boss multiple times for blessing farming, you could end up way above what corruption your build can handle

Maybe a quick solution would be a way (button or something) to reset that specific monolith to its default corruption (0 for normal, 100 for empowered) ?

I agree. An option to reset corruption to 100, with a simple click, wouldn’t break any game mechanics (you after all need more corruption for more rare rewards) and would also save a lot of frustration. I think this should be implemented.

Sanctuary of Eterra

• This new echo type appears next to the origin whenever corruption is above minimum. It allows you to reduce corruption, while resetting the timeline like a Shade of Orobyss echo.
• This echo has a unique layout and a short boss fight, after which you can interact with a statue of Eterra to reduce your corruption.
• You can choose a small reduction (up to 10), a moderate reduction, or to reduce your corruption to the minimum (0 for non-empowered, 100 for empowered).
• Completing this echo does not affect your active monolith modifiers, aside from those that come from corruption.
• Meanwhile Shade of Orobyss echoes now always increase corruption, and no longer spawn at distances where they previously would have reduced it instead.
• This change makes it quicker and easier to reduce corruption when you need to, makes the purpose of Shade echoes clear (they always increase corruption), and removes the “noob trap” potential of Shade echoes that reduce corruption while farming for Shade of Orobyss unique items.
