I’d quite like to know your build, passives, gear etc to see how you’re doing that.
Well, like I stated previously that build I used as an example was two days old and on an SSF character starting from level 1 when I did the Rahyeh fight. So, considering you thought it would take you 150 hours to obtain the gear that I had gained in 20 or so, I think my farming methods speak for themselves. Trying to kill all the mobs in a map and looking at every piece of gear that drops is less efficient than rushing maps in my opinion. Getting to a higher level as well as a higher echo with better drops and more gold to use with the gambler is far more valuable.
As far as how you’re building, you are more than welcome to choose to build it as you wish. Since you believed the Rahyeh fight is untankable, and I have shown that it is, I was simply trying to help you optimize your build, if that is what your goal was. That offer stands if you ever want to take me up on it.
I’ve been asked to do a build guide on it a few times this week. I have several other vids I need to make first, but if you’d like to stop by the stream some time I’d be more than happy to show you how it all works
I’ll try & pop on tonight (UK time) if you’re on.
It’s my day off today, but I’ll be on tomorrow!
I tried this out for the first time last night with my lvl 90something paladin that can afk pretty much anything, rahyeh was a BIG surprise. It’s good to have fights that aren’t just gear checks but he hits HARD and there’s no real options for the player to get out of the way other than just walking, and it seems a lot of those moves need at least +30% movespeed to be able to only just get out of the way.
For such a mechanic-heavy fight it really doesn’t work with the current death penalty, you’re not gonna know the fight before you do it and one misstep puts you 5 maps back. If you had some additional tries to do the fight before you get pushed back it would have been a lot less frustrating and dare I say boring.
I did on my smite pally with 20% movement speed. But as I’ve said before, it might be nice to have the individual mechanics introduced in a watered down fashion earlier (possibly in the quest echoes) to teach the player about them.
I found Rahyeh relatively easy but the monolith version of Lagon to be a massive pain with his eye beam, though you do at least know what to expect from his fight.
Shield rush looks OP does it even use mana?
There have been videos and screenshots posted in this thread CLEARLY showing how both Rahyeh on the normal difficulty and empowered version is a joke of a boss.
Everything the boss does can be avoided by… just walking away and/or facetanked if you have the right gear and build. People continuing to advocate for nerfs are just arguing in bad faith.
I don’t understand it - could I get a pie chart instead?
Just because someone has problems adhering to mechanics doesn’t mean they’re arguing in bad faith (which I take offence at). I may disagree with people but I’d never assume they’re dishonest.
Very much so!
It’s healthy to start from the position of good faith and if there’s a suspicion of bad faith then try to confirm it to beyond reasonable doubt before claiming it.
Here’s the question for it:
Do you think that everyone, no matter the skill level or experience is able to kill that boss on their first try, no matter the character?
If the answer is negative, then bad faith should not be asserted and instead inquire further about their reasoning (:
Yes that’s exactly what it means. The boss is not impossible therefore the problem does not lie with the game but with the player. If said mechanics are too difficult they can be toned down, HOWEVER it has been showed multiple times that that’s not the case at all. Advocating for lowering the bar when the bar is already at the bottom of the ocean I call that arguing in bad faith.
Just because you’re offended doesn’t mean you’re right. - Ricky Gervais
Moving the goalpost much? Why should that matter? I personally killed Rahyeh on my first tries on both normal and empowered version however I can fully understand other players using other builds and who are less experienced to die and feel frustrated at a boss. That’s why you try again, improving your character and yourself. After dying once to a boss you have knowledge of that boss abilities, not all but some. Do better next time.
Yes, it absolutely is moving the goalpost - and with a good reason! We’re not trying to refute someone’s argument, but try to understand if they’re arguing in good faith. In order to erase our biases and preconceptions, we should try to make the strongest argument or statement possible for the interlocutor(s) in order to be sure if there’s bad faith in play or not.
It matters because you’re doing yourself a great deal of disservice by ignoring a whole array of good arguments and ideas due to disallowing any new information being implemented in your cranium through the assertion that these arguments are not worth to be analyzed - they’re made in bad faith.
That is great! So did I! Already 5x I haven’t even got hit once!
Other players not being able to do so definitely should improve and it’s a good practice to first look at our own mistakes before claiming that the game itself is flawed; this although, does not confirm the statement that other people are making bad faith arguments which is a suicide for any dialogue on an axiomatic level.
There is never a good reason to move the goalpost. It might be required for you to do so in order for your mental gymnastics to make sense however op’s argument is “Rahyeh hard!” which was diproven. Anything else boils down to going in circles.
“But but but…!” No.
Edit: I will not be baited into arguing your rationalizations.
Haha it’s definitely a very powerful speed clear skill. It does use mana, and quite a lot unspecced. There were several times in the video where I had to stop and use vengeance to regen some mana.
it’s not really a metric than can be converted into a pie chart.
Just because it can be done without getting hit once, means the boss is not hard? Sorry but that sounds very ignorant.
Here are alot of people of different skill levels and with different backgrounds. Saying that anything as subjective as difficulty is “disproven”, just because there are people out there who can do it flawlessly. That is no way to measure difficulty of any kind of video game.
Don’t get me wrong, i personally think the fight is fine in it’s current state.
A forum is a platform for different people to meet and argue about concerns such as OP.
Accusing people of acting in bad faith or devalueing their opinions is not the way to go in a forum!
