Ive beaten him multiple times now and beaten the Monolith bosses and Rahyeh is easily the hardest boss in this game damage wise/mechanic wise
The biggest issue is the boss is at zone 68…thats it really. If Rahyeh was the last boss that would be fine.
Hargon the void boss of 90 does very little damage. Im talking facetanking his AoE’s with 5% void resist and 1600HP but Rahyeh has the ‘pie chart’ burst that actually does 4-5k damage within 4 seconds if you manage to get hit by many of them
I attempted Rahyeh on my undergeared Mage with 15% Void resist and 700HP. I was fully expecting to get one shot. I was dodging the pie chart and teleported to the right to safety as another one was going off and didn’t have the movement speed to exit the newest one - and was of course one shot
Also unrelated you cannot seem to ‘dodge’ the Pie Chart. My BM has 79% dodge and gets hit by them everytime? so either I am extremely unlucky or one of my main defensive mechanics doesn’t even work vs this bird
nice - just needs a lvl 80 amulet that converts the bosses damage to an easier to defend against element for a lvl 68 boss
Sure Rahyeh isn’t tough when you are taking 400 dmg from his most severe attack, with 700 Void res I take 1200HP per hit
Simply increase your movement speed sir:) I do agree though in all seriousness that this boss is definitely over-tuned for when you face him. But so are all siege golems…shrug. At least with the siege golems its easier to avoid ever being hit much.
If you aren’t being ****ed over by RNG on your dodge then it’s, you guessed it, a dot attack (because they don’t hit and therefore can’t be dodged, blocked or mitigated by glancing blow).
I was pondering for a while, whether i wanted to participate in this discussion, but in the end i thought my pov might not be completely irrelevant.
It is important to note, that i am THE ABSOLUTE WORST when it comes to learning manual skills. I needed almost 100 hours to get my driver’s license 24 years ago, and i have not become younger. In PoE there are a couple of bosses, wich i never managed to defeat deathless, for example UberElder, who combines the mechanics of two endgame bosses (Shaper and Elder), and keeping up with two guys at once is too much for my poor slow brain.
I say all this in order to illustrate the important point as clearly as possible: I am not a “godgamer”, nor am i a speedfarmer. I am a filthy casual, who crawls through the monolith with 1-3h of playtime per day.
And i honestly think Rayeh is 100% fair. Of course i wiped to him a few times, before i learned how to avoid the triangels effectively (Ty @LizardIRL for his time and advice!) Once i understood how to position myself in the arena properly, the fight became comparatively easy.
I am convinced that everybody can learn this fight. Don’t give up, my fellow travelers! When i can do it, you can do it too!
Of course it is. They aren’t making the game for just one type of gamer (other than aRPGs being a bit of a niche in the current gaming scene).
I actually like the dot attack mechanics. It makes regen and protections not completely useless.
I have only gotten to this boss fight once so far (switched to a couple other games), and the pie chart was relatively easy for me to dodge. I play a melee character though, so I was close to the center of the map. Less distance to run to get to the safe areas. I got one-shot on his fly-by line attack.
To be fair, it was my first time even seeing his mechanics as I don’t really watch videos on the bosses first. Now that I know it is a killing shot, I will be able to avoid it.
In principle, yes, it’s good that there’s some incoming damage that we don’t automatically take 1/2 of. But I think the numbers need a tweak. DoTs shouldn’t burst a player down (Lagon’s eye beam, Rahyeh’s dot attack). IMO the numbers should be halved (or potentially more) but the area significantly increased (+50% or something) so that most people will take some damage without being one-shot. If it was doing 10-20% of the player’s hp, it could even be used more to put a bit more pressure on the player (because there’s more to the player’s hp bar than full/empty).
That is why Orion’s Eye is getting more and more necessary for end game builds. The dot attacks damage ticks are insanely high. Most of the dot attacks are meant to be dodged though.
You can’t have an item that rare be “necessary” for a build though (IMO).
This seems to be a long loooong discussion about 1 boss that OP seems to have trouble with defeating.
And most off the discussions go about tactics, skills, necessary items, what a arpg should be like, what skills to invest in, resistances.
I pesonnaly had also trouble defeating this boss, mostly being too late to dodge a mechanic.
It took me about 10 tries to finnaly beat him.
so my advice to OP would be, have fun in the game, if something in the game seems impossible, learn from the mistakes, learn why you died.
i don’t see myself as a pro gamer, but if i manage to beat Rahyeh, you could too.
No ofense but u have to kite at those waves cuz u do no damage! xd
Any good sentinel build 1 shots the big boys at those waves ^^
This right here!
This is what the game is about!
That is some big bullshit because:
- These are “More health” mobs, i don’t know if you have seen what is a siege golem with more health at w180
- Any 10k dmg build have like half of that tank, and way less sustain. Even if you have 1k hours farmed bis amu + poison/void as phys and 50 dodge with the same gear i’d be double tanky just from the shield alone
- The 10k builds only deal that damage on the 3rd hit or with procs every 2 seconds while standing in melee, gl standing with these nuke dots
- Dev orbs shoot like 10 aoe balls per second ALSO WHILE MOVING i don’t have to stop or look at it, free dps 1-2k, then i will add the dmg from vengeance 3k
- Show me a video with SAME TANK and more dps and i will agree with anything said, before that please don’t make false claims
What’s the build (pics of the skills, passives & gear would be awesome)?
Lizard is basically legendary for his high dps vengeance leader board pushes. If you’re interested in that type of game play, there is no better resource.
Yep i saw the build and i respect it but if you get into the internals of it:
The “tank” is the damage:
No shield ← less tank and 2h ofc gives a +50-100% base dmg
1k+ hours gear to have i bet 3k ele res and the 70+ poison/necro/void conversions plus 50 dodge ← i have 150h and like 2 shards of these ultrarare mods, so i’m “stuck” with 3.5k+ EHP flat life + instaleech builds (and it still sucks)
Still needs to kite imbadot spam adds like the void scorps
But why all the mechanics make it that shield is not a viable choice and you see the same darn 2h crit in every video?
Ofc If one drops shield & passives and puts all mods from tank into crit and whatever to see the orbs triple the damage and just run and deal permacrit autoproc 3k at range without looking. Then slap that copypasta res template that is in every sentinel
I won’t do the 1k hours farm as i have no real incentive, i’ve dropped the game (actually im going to turn these email notifications as well) as unfortunately they went the Poe way such as bosses = oneshot spam to kite, high arena = kite for your dear life, tank = shit, (Bonus: Magic the gathering/Poe style “cool interactions” that lead to 3m dmg builds).
And talking about farming and copying PoE why would I farm 1k here (doing this for 1k hours non stop btw - YouTube) to make a universal set for all sentinels, i’d rather farm 1k in the original game from which they are copying the boss mechanics and with the absurd crapton amount of items combos
→ The endgame viability is kinda stuck into 2 builds per class and the same damage mods in every possible slot, forget brick tanks like in GD, forget shields go 2h with dodge (and have free ~15pts to put into dmg), go crit forever fill you skill passives and passive tree and gear mods with +dmg, +crit, +base dmg, get over 50-100 crit, 1k+ all inc dmg and win the game, or better combine few uniques and find some snowball multiplier and play like MtG.
But really coming back in topic what killed the game for me is the move 1inch = take 0 damage oneshot mechanics that leads to → drop tank and go full crit full dmg max movespeed.
I really don’t know how and why they chose to copy the bosses from PoE, these are the ones in all arpgs that are the most controversial, at every introduction it was never unanimous, a slice of people hated shaper, then elder, then UE, and today people hate sirus. I’ve never read anything similar for GD Calladraga or SR spamming 3 bosses together, there must be some truth in how GD bosses are designed, in poe instead it is controversial and i dont know what made them choose this direction really
At this point, I’m going to drop from the conversation, as I believe it to be unfruitful. Zaen has made their choice, and that’s fine, this game isn’t going to be for everybody. But I do want to clear up a few inaccuracies in their last post so that others won’t be convinced the game is something other than what it is.

Tank is both completely viable and incredibly powerful with shield. I showed this in previous videos and even described my build. Lizard has also shown just how strong shields are, and to my recollection, has chosen to go 2 hander because it’s more of a challenge than shield.

It doesn’t take 1k+ hours to get 3k ele res or the conversions. I also provide an example of this in the discussion. During a 4 day SSF tourney, I had tier 5 conversions with the Sunforged Helm, Orian’s eye, and 3k ele prots with about 6k armour. I’d guess that took me around 30-35 hours.

Some boss fight mechanics are similar to PoE, and this is to be expected since their are only so many ways to do those sorts of mechanics. But many of these fights are very different from PoE, and are more closely aligned with MMO raid style mechanics. Like them or hate them, I believe EHG gave us something very interesting in the boss fights that stands out from most other ARPGs

Again, I’ve attempted to explain to Zaen that crit + move speed is not the only option. If you are interested in a tank build, please scroll up to some of my previous posts, and feel free to message me if you have any questions.
I wish this discussion could have led to a better understanding for both parties on the perspective of each, but from what I can tell, it’s become more about trying to “win” than to understand.
