Question about damage calculation

hi, new to this game and don’t quite understand how the damage is calculated in this game after reading the in-game tutor… my question is, imaging i have +50 melee damage, +50 melee fire damage, +50 melee void damage and the Erasing Strike has a 600% effectiveness, with the tag ‘void’ but not the tag ‘fire’, so how much damage my Erasing Strike will do?? 900 void damage? or 600 void damage + 300 fire damage? or only 600 void damage? thx.

Those stats give 100 void (the +50 melee damage will only add void, since the skill is void based) and 50 fire. At 600% effectiveness you’ll get x6 so you’ll get 600 void and 300 fire.

EDIT: You’ll actually get 602 void, since it deal 2 base void damage.

ok thx, so skills can deal damage even it doesn’t have that tag, the only difference is that 602 void damage can be affected by like ‘increase void damage’ mods but that 300 fire damage can’t, right?

Correct. Also, the generic tag for “% increased melee damage” will only add to the void part of the damage.
