Problems Partying with Low-Level Player

Or simply partying with someone with lesser progress than your character.

For reference, my brother is level 13 and I am level 35 so I wanted to help him do his quests and just hopefully enjoy playing the game together. Despite my brother being the party leader and then I go to him via portal, some of his quests objectives are just not present in the map and he cannot progress unless I leave the party and he reloads his zone. Which REALLY sucks. And also we’ve noticed when he was doing “Ezra’s Ledger” quest, and the book just wasn’t there. If this is the case here, it won’t be surprising the same would happen on other quests too which then we’ll have to leave, restart and engage to really-long load times…again and again and again.

Now I’m even more worried we get the same problems with monolith, quest echoes and other unlocks and countless bugs that I previously reported here even we’re already using a totally different character. And I am really curious if we just literally won the shit lottery with this bug because nobody else seems to be talking about it. And pretty much everyone responded to me in global chat doesn’t have a clue either. And maybe because it’s in the bug section in the forum that most people don’t really check that often so I’ve decided to put it here with hopes that maybe more people will see. I’ve never had this problem with I played with my other friend but our level gap was pretty small and it wasn’t as buggy as it is now that I am playing with my brother. It’s been almost a week since the problem started.

Are there any chance or plans of this getting fixed soon? Anybody else getting the same problem? Are they aware of this? Did they have an opinion about this?

It should work ok if the least-progressed character is the first to enter the next zone, as that’s what defines the zone’s quest state. So if you were the first to enter the next zone your quest state would be used rather than your friend’s.

It isn´t good system. Zone’s quest state should be tied always with party leader as is common in other ARPGs.

If this is like a work around, the I hope it also worked for monolith quest echoes. Since no matter whoever started the echo which technically loads that character/player first if we’re gonna go with your response’s logic, then it shouldn’t cause problems on not being able to complete the other party member’s quest echo like I said on my other post. But sadly it wasn’t the case for this one. :frowning:

Also there are so many factors in this like computer speed, internet latency, game’s server latency, and god knows what else. Just like earlier before we entered Panion’s Library, I was still in loading screen when I already hear my brother killing stuff. Technically he “went in first” but it still bugged.

And I totally agree with this one and I really thought this is also what LE’s multiplayer system was but turns out I was damn wrong all this time. I really hope they would address this soon.
