I use a 2 monitor configuration , both at 1080p , main is a 144Hz monitor on a displayport cable, the other one runs at 60Hz through HDMI. GPU is a 2060 super , running at factory settings )no OC of any kind)
I normally play on the main one, fullscreen windowed, to easily pass to the 2nd monitor , used to check pages, youtube , spotify, etc.
I mainly play PoE , WoW and Grim Dawn this days, and the only game I get this problem at the start is LE.
When i start the game (through steam or standalone) , the game flickers a couple of times and the game screen goes black. I have to go to display settings every time, disable the second monitor , then enable it again and I can play normally, but its annoying.
Tried fullscreen , tried setting monitor 0 or 1 , disable freesync , etc but it still fails every time i start the game, and as i said its only with LE , no other game does that , they just work fine.
Any idea what to do?
I don’t have an exact solution for you but you could try changing to Windowed Full Screen instead of Full Screen Exclusive mode. I have 3 monitors and that’s how I play.
Thanks for the answer, i tried windowed full screen and it worked ok, is there any way of getting rid of the window border on the top?
hmm, should be, windowed full screen shouldn’t have the border at the top, what’s your operating system?
Windows 10, i can get rid of the border, but then i have the same problem again and the screen goes black and i have to disable/enable the second monitor.
Its nothing game braking, its just annoying having to do it every time i want to play
How do you get rid of the border? Is it by switching to full screen?
I’m a little confused because as far as I know, there are 3 modes:
- Full Screen (no border)
- Windowed Full Screen (no border)
- Windowed (border)
In windowed, you can click maximize in the border but this isn’t what I mean by windowed full screen.
When you’re in windowed full screen, (not maximized window mode), do you still have the border?
Hi, i see 3 options on display mode on the graphics tab, exclusive full screen , maximized windowed and windowed.
The only way i can get the game to start without the screen going black is by forcing a border by using Alt+Enter. In any other way on any of the settings i need to disable and then enable the second monitor to be able to play.
If i try to start the game with a no border full screen in any mode, the screen goes to black and i can’t play until i disable and then enable the second monitor.
Don’t know if that clarifies the problem
Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer
