I love playing blasting builds for mapping…make currency and then make a sick ass bossing build. Wondering what class/spec I should go for that. I just bought LE about 2 mins ago and currently downloading it.
whatever you like! can juice up your echoes with some of the new systems coming in season 2. for now, just learn how to play and try a couple builds out before it starts. servers are down tomorrow but you can still play offline mode.
That’s the plan will dabble with some things today and learn the basics. I was just trying to get a sense of what classes people prefer to blast mapping with. For ex. Poe usually you would go Ranger / Slayer Magic Find.
Just FYI, there is no “magic find” mechanic in Last Epoch. Closest thing would be Circle of Fortune, but that’s more about having extra drops of what you want, than general increase of their value.
Thank you!
You’re welcome. As for builds, my go-to farmer is Acid Flask Falconer, with later addition of Fire Trap. Think PConc from PoE.
Acid Flask is aoe poison damage, and later Fire Trap allows you to throw multiple traps at once, that throw another set of traps, that throw Acid Flasks when they explode. Also Falcon throws Flasks as well. All this while zooming around with Shift.
You mentioned farming currency so Im assuming you played trade in PoE and intend to do so in LE too.
There are 2 item factions you can join, The Merchants Guild and Circle of Fortune. MG is for trade and CoF is SSF but with boosted drops and target farming. You can’t pick both, so if you want to trade you’ll need to pick MG and won’t benefit from CoF’s boosted drop rate/target farming.
Oh damn that’s actually good to know. I do love trading but I want to try CoF at the same time. Is it character bound or account bound. Can I do MG on 1 char and CoF on another?
Yup, it’s all account bound (kinda, split by HC/SC, obviously) but MG characters can’t use items with the CoF tag & vice versa.
It should be noted that trading in LE is quite different from trading in PoE. Especially because you can’t flip items. If you buy an item in the AH, you can’t sell it again.
You also can’t buy currency (meaning crafting materials) with it. It’s limited to just gear.
Also, the UI is kinda clunky for now. They intend to improve it, but it can be hard finding the exact item you want, sometimes, especially in legacy.
Lastly, the AH is assyncronous. So you place an item in the AH and someone eventually buys it. Then you just get your gold (seems an unnecessary step, maybe they’ll improve it). But due to this, there isn’t any price fixing like in PoE either.
Trading in LE is basically a glorified vendor that is fed by players.
Not accurate. There is no rarity or magic find on gear. The magic find is in the corruption you are doing. If you are doing 900 corruption your item rarity is 1,000% in that map.
Then the reason why many blasters will farm between 700-1,000 corruption isn’t just because of the increase in drops but it’s also the best Favor farming which you need to get more gear from the CoF or MG factions. Favor farming is one of the core gearing mechanics of LE.
Personally I’m so happy rarity doesn’t exist on gear and we can make our builds as powerful as we want to push higher corruption to get higher rarity there and build our characters better by better drops and gear.
Yes many will do that as MG provides gold to buy stash tabs. As selling gear on the market provides enough to buy an infinite amount for your CoF character. Not required but some like playing both.
I’m a fellow blaster and a good rule of thumb for a successful build is to have it farming 700-1,000 corruption. I’m not sure if Season 2 will change that much obviously the new mechanics help with weaver tree but if your a blaster it’s about efficient farming and 700-1,000 is the place to be.
Welcome to LE and have fun blasting
Fuck yea. Thank you all for this info really helpful!
Fair enough, however OP was mentioning “Poe usually you would go Ranger / Slayer Magic Find” and that’s the kind of Magic Find I was referring to. It’s pretty obvious that you get more/better drops on higher difficulty level, so I didn’t feel the need to mention it.
This thread might also help you, from another PoE refugee. Lots of useful info about expected differences between both games.
Well I wouldn’t say it’s pretty obvious since the OP is downloading the game. Rarity aka Magic find is definitely in the game it’s just designed better and in pushing corruption instead of being forced to wear it in your build making you weaker.
No problem. Some will argue semantics with me or call me an elitist because I tell the truth and will state facts like a successful build will farm 700-1,000 corruption. Well the reason I say that is because there is mountains of data and spreadsheets proving it. Fellow blasters who are better at math than me already figured it out.
So be careful “Who” you get information from but by stating you are a blaster helps me identify what you are looking for. You are ready to log in Last Epoch and giga farm efficiently with a good blasting build 15 hours a day having fun.
I’d recommend Frozen sentinel youtube he has spreadsheets on favor farming, rarity and great guids too about farming CoF and how to juice everything efficiently etc.
If you like loot explosions, once you play CoF, there’s no going back. And you’ll wish they had this in all aRPGS.
i’ll def try it out for sure althought i love trading a lot as well
imho, MF on gear is one of the worst mechanics in diablo likes. i rather like LE’s take on corruption where players will always desire the best gear so the can engage in harder content which in return gives them better rewards.
player with good gear = harder risk with more rewards is good
player with weaker gear but mf = more rewards is bad
well thats in my opinion. regardless EHG solved this without MF so kudos to them
That’s because you are. I’m not going to argue that the sweet spot is 700-1k corruption, I’d just argue about what a successful build is & whether treating a game like a job is theright thing to do.
This is so true!!
