I just saw in this thread that spending favor also gains you reputation. I must’ve missed that earlier, or forgotten. It would be good to put that somewhere where the player will see it multiple times (like on the Y screen) to make sure they learn that piece of information.
I was literally coming here to make a different suggestion based on faulty understanding, but fortunately did a search first and saw that.
